Amazing Family Getaway!!!- dock w/slide & diving board.

Bedrooms 2
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 8)

Secluded, with 205' waterfront, this cabin is our personal family vacation home. It's all about playing on the water. We are located on deep water towards the back of a long slough (but water is still deep and clean), so there's not as much boat traffic. This makes our location ideal for swimming (particularly great for children), or relaxing on the large private dock, which has a diving board, slide, and swing to relax and enjoy the amazing views. Less boat traffic means peace and quiet, and great waterskiing on calm water. Plenty of room to roam if you want to boat or jet ski and look at the breathtaking views on one of the south's cleanest, deepest lakes. In addition, we provide a canoe and a paddleboat for your enjoyment (at no extra charge). We are located on Rock Creek, where the fishing is amazing. Bringing your own boat - a public boat launch is only 10 minutes away.

The house is clean, comfortable and open, with vaulted ceilings and wide plank pine flooring. Comfortable mattresses, and many books, games, video games, and puzzles are available for our guests. Three shaded decks with beautiful views overlooking the water allow for relaxation or entertaining . The cabin is located on over an acre lot, which provides lots of privacy. And Bankhead National Forest is across from us, so your view is unspoiled.

We are more than happy to accept personal checks if you wish. Contact us directly for more details (don't request on-line booking).

Why Kathleen Dyar chose Lewis Smith Lake

We are originally from Alabama, and Smith Lake was always our very favorite lake to boat and ski on. There's approximately 510 miles of shoreline to explore, and it's so clean (300' deep in some places). We now live outside of Nashville, but our cabin is an easy 2 1/2 hour drive for us. We love the privacy, and the fact that our dock is not jammed up with others. Our cabin has provided so many amazing family memories - late night boat rides, 4th of July bar-b-ques, lounging on rafts in the water all day, and lying on the dock looking for shooting stars...hope you have the same experience!

What makes this cabin unique

The property is lakefront, and very wooded. Feels like you are also in the mountains, so you get the best of both worlds.

Guestbook comments from the owner

From a recent email after I inquired about their stay:

Oh my gosh Kathy…it was FANTASTIC!!! We loved your house! It was probably one of our best vacations ever. My husband fished off and on most of the time and Kennedy and I rotated between swimming, sliding and jumping, and paddleboating. We were able to all be around each other on the dock but do what we each enjoyed doing. My birthday was great but the Angler was in fact closed on Tuesday. We went to Arleys Lighthouse on Wednesday but stayed at the house all the other nights. We did get ribeyes from Smith Farms and oh my! We could very likely rent from you again next summer if you don’t sell the house. It was a wonderful time. Thank you so much!

Great place!

Just spectacular. The boat dock is fantastic. Our kids had a great time sliding and jumping off of the diving board. The house it's self is comfortable and welcoming. We will be back.

**We went in late August, but the webpage wouldn't let me select the actual date**

Outstanding and Refreshing Seven Day Getaway!

Place was as described and did not disappoint. Ben and Kathy were very accommodating host, down to their local recommendations for shopping and dining. We had a blast! Looking forward to next year. Thanks :-)

Awesome Vacation Time

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at the cabin on the lake. It was relaxing and fun. The cabin was the perfect size and location for my family. It was seculded but was also close enough to the grocery store that if we needed anything we could just drive 10 minutes to get what we needed. My kids loved it and so did my grand baby. She is 10 months old and had a ball. We didn't want to leave. The lake is clean and there was plenty to do with the canoe diving board and slide on the dock. I loved drinking my morning coffee on the deck every morning. So relaxing.

Beautiful! Put down the gadgets and enjoy the outdoors!!! Plenty to do!

  • 5 of 5

So glad we selected this cabin! Very affordable and allowed our family to spend quality time together!! Children and adults both enjoyed the canoe, paddle boat and diving board. The lake is clean, clear and deep just as the description where we felt very comfortable swimming and jumping. My wife bought a raft, floated and relaxed! In the evenings we sat in the swing and would read and /or watched the children fish or boat. The beauty of the lake is a great reminder of how good God is!! The house is perfect for one family and had everything we needed. We enjoyed eating meals outside, and choosing from the large selection of games to play. The beds were comfortable, house was very clean and owners were very easy to work with! If you want to relax and take a break from all the hustle and bustle this house is for you! If you enjoy fishing this house is made for you with the large dock, outside lights and not many boats drive by. If you like exploring the Natural Bridge is a must see area to walk thru!

Amazing break from reality!

  • 5 of 5

With a magnificent view from the decks, the access to the lake, and the coziness of the cabin.

It forced me and my family to unplug from social media, emails, and phone calls. We actually just got to get to know each other a little better, and have some piece and quiet for a change. It was much needed! My 10 year old son had a blast on the paddle boat, and fishing off the dock, it will always be a great memory for him. We hope to come back and make some more memories.

Very relaxing once settled

  • 4 of 5

As long as your not pulling a boat the place is great. If your towing a boat or trailor good luck and watch out for the trees. The swimming area was a big hit with my nine year old daughter, I don't think she ever noticed the eighty something steps from the back porch to the water.
