Wow!! Wonderful mountain retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is amazing, cozy and comfortable. The loft space is perfect for the kids and the private lake is a amazing!! It does get a little warm upstairs but there are plenty of fans throughout the cabin to keep you comfortable. We were there for three nights and literally never left the neighborhood, the lake was just to perfect we did need to go anywhere else. Kevin the owner is great and is very responsive to any questions. This will definitely be a yearly trip for my family for many summers to come!

Wonderful spacious cabin- very kid friendly!

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a wonderful trip staying in this cabin!! Couldn't have asked for anything nicer! Had all the special touches that made it easy to relax. Went with 3 teens who didn't say "I'm bored" once for 5 days!! Lake is close enough my son went fishing every morning, short walk to the private beach where you can use paddle boats, kayaks or canoes. This cabin was completely equipped with floats to take with you. Also saw many play items for the snow as well!!! Really spacious place with plenty of entertainment to stay and relax. Pool table, videos etc. Lovely deck to barbecue and eat outside. Can't wait to go again!!!

Fantasic and very comfortable spacious cabin / wonderful and accommodating owner

  • 5 of 5

We went up with 4 older teenagers for a week. The cabin was fantastic! Plenty of beds, comfortable couches, clean, and had everything in the cabin to have the luxury of home. We had a blast. The location is perfect. The private lake was great (it's all free- you can use the kayaks, paddle boats, footballs, frisbees, floaties, etc) it's super close to the cabin. It was relaxing and close to everything (mercer caverns, big trees state park, lake alpine, and so much more). The loft upstairs was great- very big with a pool table where the kids played pool in the evenings. We relaxed each morning on the deck outside in all the big trees drinking our coffee (it was beautiful.) Kevin (the owner) was extremely nice and very accommodating. I honestly couldn't have asked for anything better. It really was a great cabin and a fantastic trip. I will definitely be going back. Thank you Kevin for being so nice and making our trip great. I really appreciate it.

Terrific Mountain/Lake Retreat

  • 5 of 5

What a relaxing place! I brought a puzzle and several books but I was so cozy and comfortable lounging by the wood stove and hanging out with friends that I never took them out of my suitcase. I loved the cute, woodsy decor. It was obviously decorated with love. The whole place was so well stocked. My friends and I did quite a bit of cooking and we found everything we needed that we hadn't thought to bring in the cupboards. That's just one example of how thoughtful the owner is. Providing a ton of firewood is another example. It got pretty chilly so we appreciated that generous touch.

I slept more and better here than I had for ages. The bedrooms are comfy, cozy and roomy with very good mattresses. The furniture, indoor and out, is also very nice, comfy and rustic.

The location is really nice and the best part is how close the little lake is. It's a lovely walk around it and in the neighboring areas. It's so peaceful and quiet and uncrowded. The highlight of our walks was seeing a mother duck and her ducklings.

We had fun exploring, shopping, wine tasting and eating out in Arnold and Murphys. There's just a lot to do in this pretty little mountain area. The locals are super friendly and welcoming. We stayed for three days and chose a good mix of doing fun stuff out and about and hanging out in the house. It was the most relaxing getaway I've been on in years! I came here with friends and I hope we can visit again. And I'm eager to come with my husband for a little romantic vacation.

Cozy and comfortable, all accommodating....

  • 5 of 5

While the weather did not provide for the lake tan I was hoping for, the owner of this property provided everything to make our stay comfortable with ample wood for the large fireplace, heat and toasty throw blankets on the yummy couches to snuggle up in. So instead of floating on the lake which is an easy walk away, we hunkered in and played games, shot pool, colored, cooked and read, making for a delicious winter retreat relaxing indoors, taking walks through the nice neighborhood, shopping in Arnold & wine tasting in Murphy's. This is a great location to explore all of the surrounding sierra activities.

The decor is "mountainesque" with fun bear, moose and wildlife pictures, statues and everything else you could think of. I came up with 2 girlfriends and we all had our own rooms. The beds were super comfortable, providing for a good nights sleep allowing us to catch up on much needed rest and have play time together around the dining room table & deck. We had a blast and can definitely envision a family here having great summertime fun at the lake & hanging at the cabin. Something fun for everyone... I'll be back to be a lake lizard when the sun is guaranteed!

Thanks for all of your suggestions in making this a great escape. Suzie's restaurant in Arnold IS THE BEST for breakfast and there's a super neat gift store nearby, "fine things?" where we got some cool things. Great call!
