Seeking our long(er) term tenant for March and April 2017! Our condo is a special place...

We love our Santa Barbara abode. From here, you are truly close to everything. Just 1 minute to the freeway, less than 2 minutes to downtown, and 3 minutes to the local beaches. Whether you're seeking just a simple place to lay your head, or an attention-to-detail get-away to enjoy, this is truly a perfect slice of Santa Barbara heaven. Due to recent changes with the local rental laws, we are now renting our home for 30-nights or longer. We have been working to update our space with new, large and light area rugs for the living area, some new furniture, new lighting, new towels and sheets, and a new gas BBQ/grill for the balcony. We are working on updating photos!

From the master bedroom, wake up to truly inspiring views of the Santa Ynez Mountains, the Riviera, and downtown Santa Barbara. The 2nd bedroom is nestled against a quiet hillside of oak trees. The evenings are best spent on the balcony, BBQ'ing your dinner on the stainless steel BBQ, sipping a glass of our local wine, and enjoying the unobstructed vistas and golden sunsets over your left shoulder. Enjoy a bottle of highly esteemed, local Santa Barbara wine, waiting for you upon your arrival! We are in the wine business and happy to share with you!

Our home is in a small, elite condo complex of mostly home-owners. Our 1,000 sq. ft. unit shares only one wall. The 2 bedrooms both have comfy queen beds and quality linens. The master (upstairs) bath has a shower/tub combo and plush robes for lounging. The downstairs "half-bath" has a full-sized washer and dryer. The couch in the living area has a pull-out queen bed to accommodate children or more guests (6 max.), if necessary. We even purchased a comfy foam topper for the pull out bed.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you may need to create gourmet meals (all you have to do is the stock the fridge with groceries from the upscale markets on the Mesa, just a two-minute drive away). The BOSCH stainless steel dishwasher negates the chore of washing dishes.

A unique benefit of our home is the electric open/close (key pad/combo) single-car garage for clean, secure, and convenient parking (or storage!), in addition to the adjacent (outdoor) parking space. So, no street parking necessary and easy access into/out of the unit.

Traveling with an infant or toddler? We have all the basic items you may need; including a pack 'n play, a clip-to-table eating chair (highchair), an infant bathtub, a nice little stroller for downtown strolls, etc, etc, We also have a twin-sized air bed if you need an addition sleeping area for a child. Just let us know ahead of time what you require.

Need some recommendations for your stay? We have lived in Santa Barbara since 1992 and are happy to help direct you to the best restaurants, lovely wineries, and which local sights to visit, as well as how to get there! It is our pleasure to ensure your stay in Santa Barbara includes the experiences that we have found over the years to be the most consistent and enjoyable!

About the owner: We both came here for college at UCSB and never left! We LOVE Santa Barbara and have always enjoyed entertaining and sharing it with others. We are happy to be able to open our doors and allow others to take in the charms of Santa Barbara. We had a baby boy in September 2009 and continue to enjoy all that SB has to offer.... now, we do it family-style! :) We currently live just a few miles away from the condo, so we are always nearby and available to assist with questions or condo needs!

Why the Owner Chose Alta Mesa, Santa Barbara, CA, USA:
We walked into this home and gasped at the views. Being on the hill just above Santa Barbara is truly gorgeous. The condo was in dire need for a remodel when we bought it in 2005, so we gutted it and put in quality hardwood and slate floors, comfy, neutral carpets in the bedrooms, and had it professionally painted throughout. We replaced everything from the bathroom sinks to all the lighting, fixtures, and windows. Quite the project, but we enjoyed it, knowing we'd have this condo for years to come! Unfortunately, the City of Santa Barbara has recently altered their laws regarding short term vacation rentals, so we are only allowed to rent our condo out for stays of 30 days or longer! Our pricing merely reflects our costs for the mortgage and condo association dues and some of the utilities that are all included with the home! We are not in this for profit! We are simply attempting to hold on to our long-term investment.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our tenants are always impressed with the location. It is extremely central, and a straight shot (no turns!) to both the 101 Freeway on/off ramps and downtown State Street. Turn your car in the other direction (toward the ocean), and again it's a straight shot to the beach! Our vacation home is just barely up/out of the noisy, hustle-bustle of the downtown area, and perched up on Carrillo Hill, so it has the rare amenity of a condo with incredible city/riviera views for a fraction of the price of other vacation rentals with views.
