San Juan Casita is the most special and unique casita in the exclusive and private community of Pueblo Encantado in Tesuque, New Mexico just 10 minutes from the center of Santa Fe. San Juan Casita hasthe prime location in this prestigious community offering the best 180 degree sunset views of the Jemez and Sangre de Cristo Mountain ranges. If you're looking to relax with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening, perhaps even spot some deer or elk grazing or coyotes on their way back to their dens, then our home is for you.
San Juan Casita offers the best value for your money! You could pay more for the Four Seasons across the street, but why not save more than half and stay where you'll have more privacy, larger accommodations and better views! We offer peace, tranquility and great value while only minutes from the center of Santa Fe.
San Juan Casita is for the discerning traveler. Our home away from home is a luxurious artistic getaway providing peaceful, beautiful surroundings for the traveler who appreciates getting away from the crowds to enjoy nature in tasteful and comfortable furnishings while still being close to fine dining and cultural activities.
Nestled in the hills of the Sangre de Cristo and Jemez Mountain ranges adjacent to Tesuque Indian Tribal land, this traditional adobe home is away from all the others and connected to only one other unit insuring the greatest privacy. This beautiful home is decorated in the unique Santa Fe style, featuring the owner’s private collection of New Mexican photography. “San Juan” comfortably sleeps four in the two well-appointed bedrooms including luxurious 400 count sheets and can accommodate up to four.
We prefer to rent to mature adults only and children over the age of 13 yrs old. We love 4-leggeds, just not in our home, please. After updating the bathrooms in 2017, we had some issues with the water pressure but that is now fixed! We also switched internet providers and we are happy to announce that we now have fast internet!
Staying in Tesuque makes your visit to Santa Fe memorable and unique because you can enjoy both privacy and accessibility. You have the option of feeling totally isolated, surrounded by the stillness and beauty of the New Mexican sky, while at the same time being close enough to enjoy a variety of activities.
In less than five minutes you can experience the fine culture of the famous Santa Fe Opera or hunt for unexpected treasures, jewelry and antiques at the weekend Tesuque Flea Market. Only 15 minutes from the colorful Santa Fe Plaza, you can buy handmade jewelry directly from Native American Artisans or you can shop and dine in world-renowned galleries and restaurants to return to the privacy and serenity of “San Juan” for the stunning sunset views. Or if you choose, relax at home enjoying our tranquil pool and surroundings or just walk across the road for pampering spa treatments and 5 star dining at the Auberge Encantado Resort and Spa. There’s also the renowned El Nido Restaurant, a favorite for the opera crowd. For more casual fare, join the locals in outdoor dining at the vibrant Tesuque Village Market.
Day trips abound and our location makes them quite doable because of the easy access to I-25 and Hwy 599. For suggestion, visit Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu to see where Georgia O’Keefe painted for over 50 years. Take the exquisite scenic drive to Taos and visit the traditional Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been continuously inhabited for 1000 years. Stop at the chapel, “El Santurario” in El Chimayo along the way, famous for it’s miracles. The sports enthusiast has many options with snow skiing at near by Santa Fe Ski Basin in winter, and river rafting, hiking, hot air ballooning and horseback riding in the fall, spring and summer. No matter how you choose to spend your time, our very special paradise, “San Juan,” lets you experience it all!

I am an artist who has enjoyed coming to Pueblo Encantado for nearly 20 years. I love being so close to town, yet only minutes away I can be in the quiet and solitude of nature to refill and renew my soul.
Owner purchased this Condo in 2000
Why Owner chose Chupadero
I have returned again and again to this quaint little village for quiet respite. The traditional adobe architecture of Pueblo Encantado with free standing condos make it an idyllic vacation spot to enjoy what I like best: swimming, hiking, skiing and relaxing in nearby spas.
What makes this Condo unique
I love hearing the distant coyotes howl at night, gazing at the stars, enjoying a fire from the two indoor kivas. Visiting the flea market just a few miles down the road is a must for me when I am there!

Great secluded place with everything you need to have a nice stay. Property owner has great communication.
The views beat the nearby Four Seasons any day! We loved our stay here and you will too
Perfectly and accurately described and shown in the photos. Very comfortable and a wonderful sense of being away from it all while close to Santa Fe.
I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, Nancy. I agree with you - the views beat the Four Seasons any day - and so do the prices! I hope you visit us again soon!
Peaceful and yet not too far from the city
This is a great place to get away into nature without having to be too far from the city. It was wonderful to see the stars at night. We loved it!!
I'm so happy you enjoyed my place as much as I do and I appreciate you treating it like your home!
This was our second time renting this lovely home away from home and we enjoyed it just as much as first time. The smell of the desert plants combined with the garden's lavender greeted us as we made our way to the front door. Beautiful place.
Thank you! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed your time and appreciated it! I hope you make it back next year as well. Leslie
Beautiful condo with major problems
This is a beautiful condo with very attractive furniture, rooms, and art work. There were, however, 2 big problems:
One of the 2 TV's was broken and not connected to the satellite or anything else. The other TV was a Roku with no regular programming, just access to multiple streaming channels. We were unable to keep up with the rapidly-changing political developments or see a favorite baseball game or any other scheduled program, all of which we like to do while on vacation.
The other problem was that the entire condo was kept very dark. We like to read in bed, but the bedside lamps had only 40 and 60 watt bulbs, making reading impossible until we purchased some 150 watt bulbs. We didn't attempt to up-watt any of the other 40 watt bulbs, and the entire condo remained quite dark at night.
Hi Richard and Joan,
I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay! Next time, please let me know asap as I could've easily remedied the lighting situation for you! As to the TVs, we only list the Roku TV - the one in the bedroom closet we don't list as we don't have it connected. The Roku can be frustrating which is why we list it on the amenities and leave explicit instructions but I am aware the internet can slow it down. We are updating to a much faster internet (it's finally available in our area!) in October 2017 which should make it much easier to navigate.
Thank you for your feedback and all the best to you both,
Tasteful, comfortable, well maintained property.
The property is comfortable and tasteful. We had all we needed for a week's stay. The property is well cared for and everything is functional.
Thanks so much and water pressure is fixed!
Hope you come again!
