About the property

San Juan: Extreme Value! Paradise, Privacy yet still close to the center of Santa Fe.

You could pay more for the Four Seasons across the street, but why not save more than half and stay where you'll have more privacy, larger accommodations with a better view!

Luxurious Artistic Home providing peaceful, beautiful surroundings for the traveler who appreciates getting away from the crowds to enjoy nature in tasteful and comfortable furnishings.

San Juan is for the discriminating traveler who enjoys the quiet and serenity of privacy while still being close to fine dining and cultural activities.

Our luxurious adobe vacation home, “San Juan”, is located in the exclusive and private community of Pueblo Encantado in Tesuque, New Mexico just minutes from the center of Santa Fe. “San Juan” sits on the most prime location of this prestigious community offering the best 180 degree unobstructed sunset views of the peaceful and serene Jemez Mountains. Nestled in the hills of the Sangre de Cristo and Jemez Mountain ranges adjacent to Tesuque Indian Tribal land, this traditional adobe home is away from all the others and connected to only one other unit insuring the greatest privacy. This beautiful home is decorated in the unique Santa Fe style, featuring the owner’s private collection of New Mexican photography. “San Juan” comfortably sleeps four in the two well-appointed bedrooms including luxurious 400 count sheets and can accommodate up to four. I prefer to rent to mature adults only and children over the age of 13 yrs old.

Staying in Tesuque makes your visit to Santa Fe memorable and unique because you can enjoy both privacy and accessibility. You have the option of feeling totally isolated, surrounded by the stillness and beauty of the New Mexican sky, while at the same time being close enough to enjoy a variety of activities.

In less than five minutes you can experience the fine culture of the famous Santa Fe Opera or hunt for unexpected treasures, jewelry and antiques at the weekend Tesuque Flea Market. Only 15 minutes from the colorful Santa Fe Plaza, you can buy handmade jewelry directly from Native American Artisans or you can shop and dine in world-renowned galleries and restaurants to return to the privacy and serenity of “San Juan” for the stunning sunset views. Or if you choose, relax at home enjoying our tranquil pool and surroundings or just walk across the road for pampering spa treatments and 5 star dining at the Auberge Encantado Resort and Spa. There’s also the renowned El Nido Restaurant, a favorite for the opera crowd. For more casual fare, join the locals in outdoor dining at the vibrant Tesuque Village Market.

Day trips abound and our location makes them quite doable because of the easy access to I-25 and Hwy 599. For suggestion, visit Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu to see where Georgia O’Keefe painted for over 50 years. Take the exquisite scenic drive to Taos and visit the traditional Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been continuously inhabited for 1000 years. Stop at the chapel, “El Santurario” in El Chimayo along the way, famous for it’s miracles. The sports enthusiast has many options with snow skiing at near by Santa Fe Ski Basin in winter, and river rafting, hiking, hot air ballooning and horseback riding in the fall, spring and summer. No matter how you choose to spend your time, our very special paradise, “San Juan,” lets you experience it all!

About The Owner

I am an artist who has enjoyed coming to Pueblo Encantado for nearly 20 years. I love being so close to town, yet only minutes away I can be in the quiet and solitude of nature to refill and renew my soul.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2000

Why The Owner chose New Mexico

I have returned again and again to this quaint little village for quiet respite. The traditional adobe architecture of Pueblo Encantado with free standing condos make it an idyllic vacation spot to enjoy what I like best: swimming, hiking, skiing and relaxing in nearby spas.

What makes this condo unique

I love hearing the distant coyotes howl at night, gazing at the stars, enjoying a fire from the two indoor kivas. Visiting the flea market just a few miles down the road is a must for me when I am there!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to let you know how wonderful we thought your condo was. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return next year!

Very comfortable place to stay with great views!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself and two sons enjoyed staying in San Juan for the long Easter weekend. The house is in a lovely setting with great views. The bedrooms are very comfortable and we enjoyed fires in the cool mornings. We will be back to Pueblo Encantado!

Beautiful views, peaceful location!!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying at the San Juan unit in the Pueblo Encantado. Beautiful views from the family room and a very inviting patio! We loved the location outside of the city for a peaceful get away. It was easy to drive to other locations for restaurants, the Opera, etc. The home, as well as the conveniently located pool, were well maintained. The owner was responsive and organized, including providing very detailed information memos before our stay.

The Land of Enchantment

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying in your condo very much. The first thing I noticed when I walked onto the patio was the lovely smell in the air - cedar and lavender, and the view, just spectacular. It was so quiet and the wildlife we saw were not pests. Just one rabbit, minding its own business outside the dining room window, birds feasting on the berries in the trees and one military grade hummingbird that flew in to check out what I was doing each morning in the garden, found nothing I had contained nectar, and took off again. Oh, and friendly lizards too. One reason I chose your place was because the decor seemed so nice. Many places on line scare me away with walls and “art” in colors that might actually interrupt sleep. It was all as lovely as it looked online.

Wonderful location!

  • 4 of 5

We loved the peaceful environment and location. The views were lovely.

The access to the community swimming pool made the place feel like a private hotel and we were able to go across the road to The Four Season's and enjoy dinner.

We intend to return!

Beautiful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home with great decor and comfortable beds / seating areas. Lots of room for the four of us to spread out. Great patio with beautiful territorial and sky views and the pool is just across the road. Kitchen is on the small side but we only used it for light breakfasts and lunches and it worked just fine. Leslie was very responsive, accommodating and easy to work with. Easy access to Santa Fe and surrounding attractions. Small side note, really appreciated that there was plenty of surface area in the bedrooms and baths to spread our stuff out.

Wonderful Santa Fe Retreat

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful get away just on the outskirts. Off the beaten track. Sits atop a hill with a beautiful view of the lowlands. Listen to coyotes while watching the sunset. Nearby hiking trails. 5-10 minute drive to town. We loved it!
