About Douglas Stewart
The Stewart Family, from left to right: Doug, Tabatha Rey, Ana Lucia, Ian Alejandro. We split our time between Boonville and our house in Healdsburg where the kids go to school. We founded Breggo Cellars in 2005.
Douglas Stewart purchased this Farmhouse in 2000
Why Douglas Stewart chose Boonville
This is our farm house. We bought a farm in 2000. It had a house on it. We restored or upgraded everything, then lived there full time from 2003 to 2007. Now we live in it part time, and share it with wonderful folks who want a relaxing getaway in Anderson Valley near the Mendocino Coast.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Anderson Valley bliss. Wake up to the vineyards, and the fog lifting off the redwood forest covering the hills across the highway. Watch sun set over Signal Ridge, knowing it's kissing the West Coast goodbye. Cozy up to the wood stove in the middle of the kitchen. Hike on 203-acres of private wilderness. Lions and turkeys and hogs, oh my. Two hours north of the Golden Gate Bridge, with one stop sign in between. Thirty minutes to the beaches and crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. Five minutes to the nearest swimming hole on the Navarro River. Three minutes from Boonville, three minutes from Philo, 80 feet from Breggo Cellars. Enjoy our 1920s Craftsman farmhouse.

Relaxing home in Wine Country
Lovely craftsman style home in the middle of the Anderson Valley. Close to Mendocino. Quiet/private setting with sheep in the pastures behind the house and vineyards next door. Loved the Breggo wines.
Amazing house for a relaxing winter vacation!
My husband and I spent 2 nights here with 2 other couples. The house is incredibly charming and beautiful. It was the dead of winter, but the owner suggested that we get a fire started right away, which we did. There are also mini electric heaters in the bedrooms for those that get very cold. The house is in a perfect location right next to a award-winning winery (Breggo) that you can walk to, and only minutes away from others. The property was very clean and comfortable (we all zonked out on the beds!). There was indeed no oven, but as long as you know that in advance, it's not a problem. It's also the only house in the immediate area so we felt no need to keep the noise level down late in the night. I highly recommend staying in the wintertime when the valley is less crowded and the sights are absolutely breath-taking! Such a treat, and thank you for the gift of wine & granola!
Great vacation home for families
Perfect getaway from the hustle of the city. The warm light, comfortable bed and country charm are all around. There is a mulberry tree outside along with a pasture of sheep. The front porch is so relaxing and goes perfectly with a glass of local wine. We loved exploring the areas amazing wines and small town hospitality. The only caveat for us was no real working oven! They have a microwave that 'works' as an oven, but doesn't cook right. We brought all this food to bake and the oven made it a real challenge. I would come back over and over if it had a real oven and this is the only reason I didn't give it a full five stars. If you just plan to use the gas stove and toaster oven you'd be fine. They also have a nice espresso machine, but no coffee grinder.
I'll have fond memories of this place when I drive by in the future. I can't wait to go back to Anderson Valley.
Beautiful view and great wine!
With three kids, who range in age from 2 -15, it's often hard for our family to find a place everyone enjoys. Evereyone really had a blast on our vacation. The home is steps from the tasting room of great pinot gris and pinot noir, short drive to the coast, or an even shorter drive to the hendy woods! Fun for all!
We loved this cottage! The house is very clean and full of charm. The owner was extremely helpful and gracious. Would definitely recommend this property to family/ friends. It was a great retreat. We all took our turn relaxing in the hammock and played lots of board games. Lots of great Anderson Valley Wineries nearby (including the fabulous winery on property!). We love this area as it is a step back in time and so peaceful - the perfect country get away. Our family had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage.
Enjoy our private 203 acres of hiking, biking, swimming in our pond, and the delicious wines of Breggo Cellars right next door. Arrange for a private cellar tour with the host.
