About Lisen

Aloha from Hawaii! We invite you to enjoy our Graeagle home. This is our 'home away from home' where we love to come for something completely different from what the islands have to offer. We live above the Kona coast where we farm organic Kona coffee with the help of our geese, ducks, sheep, dogs and cats. During the summer we enjoy traveling on the mainland in our RV and spending a few glorious days in Graeagle before heading back to Kona for harvest season. We want your stay here to exceed your expectations and hope you'll consider it your 'home away from home' too!

Lisen purchased this house in 2004

Why Lisen chose Shasta Cascade

We chose to buy a house in Graeagle because of the incredible variety of recreation offered for families and couples. The past few summers our kids have been able to experience a top-rated summer camp, just half an hour from Graeagle--Shaffer's High Sierra Camp, where they have mountain biked, wind-surfed, hiked, rafted down rivers, zip-lined through the forest--you name it! They've learned so much and had the time of their lives. While they're at camp, Des and I have the time of our lives, too! We enjoy lots of quiet time, hiking and biking. We'll certainly have to take up golf because this is one of the best places if you're a golfer. We especially love taking a break from cooking and dining in the incredible selection of restaurants nearby. We have fallen head over heels for the friendly town of Graeagle which welcomes us back every year with smiles and 'aloha'.

What makes this house unique

One of the best things about our place is its location--so near to the lovely town of Graeagle, yet so close to the lakes, rivers and hiking trails. In the evenings, we love to walk or bike right from the house through the neighborhood, around the Mill Pond, on Graeagle Meadows Golf Course trails, or down to Frosties for a frozen treat. We can walk through this quiet neighborhood for an hour and not have one car pass us. We love that!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you again for renting your lovely home to us. We had a fantastic trip. It ended too soon. I would have been happy to stay a few more days.

Your home was awesome for the for the following reasons:

- Location was great. It is secluded. It was nice being at the of a cul-de-sac. And it was close to the little downtown. (we occasionally heard the traffic, but it didn't bother us)

- Very homey. We felt like we were at home away from home. Everything was comfortable - the couch, chairs, and especially the beds. All the extra touches were awesome - bird feeders, pillows, decorations, art. It all added to the ambiance, which we really appreciated.

- Well equipped home in every respect. The kitchen had every gadget, pan, cooking tool we needed. Plenty of things to read, play, exercise, bikes. Honestly, best stocked house I've ever stayed in.

- Clean, well maintained home (nothing to report)

I would definitely come back to Graeagle in the future and hopefully you will still be renting this house. We saw that you have a home for rent in Hawaii. We used to go every year, then decided to start venturing out to different places. Maybe one of these years we will go back. If yes, we will take a look at your place.

Thank you again for your hospitality.

The rooms are spacious, particularly loved the large country dining table and the beautiful view out the large picture window in the living room. We enjoyed watching the July 4th fantastic fireworks from the spacious back deck overlooking the Mill Pond! The owners were wonderfully helpful. We love Graeagle and enjoyed our stay!

Lovely Graeagle home!

  • 4 of 5

We were so fortunate to find this special get-away home on VRBO. The location, near the center of town, is perfect. We loved spending the beautiful late-September evenings on the deck overlooking the Mill Pond, and surrounding forests. The furnishings were lovely, and kitchen well-equipped. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had on activities in the area, and a helpful binder of local information was provided at the home.

We look forward to a return visit.

Something for Everyone!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this home was grand! There was something wonderful for each of family members. Our son spent his time mountain biking, while our daughter spent time relaxing on the spacious deck. My husband and I hiked to Long Lake and Round Lake. Even the family dog loved the fenced yard and swimming in local lakes. The house was immaculate and so well stocked - right down to bird food for the outside feeders and hummingbird nectar. It is obvious the owners pay great attention to details!

The home has a beautiful view of Graeagle's Millpond and is within walking distance of the quaint town. We enjoyed cooking our meals and eating outside on the deck. We had no pesky bugs or mosquitos at any of our meals.

The area is filled with wonderful destinations. The Brewing Lair offers tastings of various beers and ales. The Iron Door restaurant in Johnsville has been serving delicious food for years. The Sardine Lake Resort offers both cocktails and dinner with incredible views of the Sierra Buttes.

We loved coming home to our "Home Away from Home". We especially appreciated the opportunity to bring our Lab along on the family vacation!

Perfect getaway!

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at your home in Graeagle. The views, the deck and the location to the Lakes Basin and Eureka State Park couldn't have been better. We will be back next year and the year after that. Thank you so much for providing such a special place to relax and unwind from the fast pace of the Bay Area. Lynne O.
