Outstanding Accommodations and Locations
After a somewhat confusing initial exchange to confirm reservation details within 24 hours all was confirmed and I was confident on my rental selection. Upon arrival we were greeted by both owners and provided a tour of property and some really good tips on places to hang out and have some adult beverages. They also left us with a really good map of the area and and gift card for their world renowned ice cream shop they own. The property was perfect - it felt like home the moment we walked in. It was in great condition, kitchen was stocked with some basic condiments and all the dishes
needed. We hosted a family spaghetti dinner and watched the NCAA game. The 5 year old practiced on the piano in the dinning room. This is a really soundproof spot, as evidenced by the hour long piano concert with, with no call from the owner who live upstairs to stop the music! We did however get one call from our owners about the heat. The control for the house was in our unit and I had "cranked" it up when we got home - it was a cold in St. Paul! I quickly turned in back and we were all quite warm and comfortable. There breakfast spot they recommended Colossal should not be missed. Homemade everything is what they know. And you can walk there. The entire area a historic
home, walking and bike friendly. The Kowalski grocery store was a fun stop with everything from wine, starbucks you name it. We didn't have ice cream but did do a pizza delivery from the owners shop and it was delicious. The driver was so funny - commenting that he was delivering pizza to his bosses house. This is a super spot with great attention to detail - including the welcome breakfast cake. These owners now how to provide a top notch rental and experience. Thanks! We will be back!
Two couples shared this beautiful, quaint, apartment. The location is wonderful; restaurants, stores, and history within walking distance. The apt was very clean and included all the amenities needed. We were very happy with our choice.
10 night stay
We needed a home away from home experience and this turned out to be a great fit! Our son needed time to recover post surgery and we had plenty of room to entertain friends and family that stopped by for a visit. It was nice to be able to grill and have a washer and dryer available without leaving the house. The location is great with a small grocery a block away. The Huffmans live upstairs and are very accomodating...we will be back!!
Comfortable home in a great location
We stayed here right after Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The photos are accurate and the areas of the house that aren't photographed (bathroom and second bedroom), are nice. Everything was very clean and the owners have provided little practical amenities such as aluminum foil, soap in the bathroom, etc. The house had the vibe of coming home, rather than an empty, impersonal place. The property isn't luxurious, but it was quite easy to settle in here and enjoy the home and neighborhood. Having a Kowalski's grocery store a block away is a great bonus, and the whole Grand Avenue neighborhood is filled with fun shops and restaurants. The owners were very accommodating and generously provided a gift card to their business, Grand Ole Creamery. I highly recommend the Coffee Break ice cream. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable and I'd recommend this place!
Excellent Lower Level Apartment
I was leery about renting the property because there were few photos, few reviews, and the reviews were more than a year old. However, this place is a gem! It was clean, comfortable, accommodating, and right off Grand Ave. The photos are accurate. The owners were available for any requests. We enjoyed lunch at Grand Ole Creamery which is a business of the property owners. Awesome Ice cream! I would recommend this property to friends and relatives. Thanks for a wonderful welcome and stay at your lovely home! We will be back!
A Lovely Grand Avenue Weekend
We had a wonderful stay here and enjoyed all the hustle and bustle of Grand Avenue on a beautiful weekend. This duplex is very close to all the restaurants and shops. We walked towards downtown one day and towards Mac/Groveland the other. It was great to park the car, walk and enjoy St. Paul as residents do. The home looks exactly like the pictures and has all the amenities that make for a great getaway. The TV in the living room is grand with several movie channel selections. Thank you for a great getaway.
