Excellent Mountain Views!
We really enjoyed our stay at Frank's property. Spectacular views from everywhere. It was close enough to the things we wanted to do, but not so remote we would feel isolated, especially returning at night. Frank is an excellent host, communicates before, during, and after the rental - no problems at all there. I would definitely advise arriving in the daytime, so you can navigate easier up the side of the mountain (It's really only the last 2-3 miles that take you to a gravel drive up the hill - and like he says, you need to be going about 10mph at least to make the last 30-50 yards) The cabin was clean throughout, my only downgrade was for a musty smell in the master bath room. I passed it along to Frank, there's probably been some water intrusion behind the washer/dryer that needs to be treated. Also be careful about leaving doors open, while unloading we did let in a few bugs, but nothing serious. There's a good hiking loop that goes from the property to an old road directly below the property (you can go either left or right out the front door, keep bearing left if you start left, bear right at the bottom if you start right) Be heads up for bears! My daughter saw one on a morning walk from about 50 yards away, and wisely retreated and came back to the cabin. The basketball hoop, swingset, fire pit, and hot tub are all great additions to a really cool cabin. We had two of our adult kids, plus my son's girlfriend with us. Plenty of room inside for everyone, and plenty of parking for our two vehicles. I would definitely recommend this for any kind of family get together. We really enjoyed it!
thanks for the great review... VRBO wont let me do anything other than give you five stars as a guest, but if they would let me comment I would put owners at ease with respect to your family as a guests in their home. I am on the issue in the master bath... Have both pest control and handymen search for the source (its a raised foundation so every two or three years a critter can get in there and sometimes they eat the stuff the pest control company leaves for them and expire. Its the forest and the animals are always looking for a new way in! I have had professionals secure the crawl space to keep them out, but may be time for a check up!
The views here were amazing. I could look out the window or sit on the balcony all day. Frank was very easy to contact and super helpful with any questions. And the hill to get up to his house wasn't bad at all. One guy made it in a smart car and another on his motorcycle. Would definitely love to see this place in the fall!
We loved all the extras this property had and our kids did too! The property definitely needs some TLC. Overall very accommodating and lovely space. We enjoyed the incredible view and surrounding area.
Thanks for the nice comments. This guest had cancelled outside of the cancellation guidelines for a visit in May, and I allowed them to re-book using open dates, at no cost. Glad they enjoyed the home, but a little disappointed in three stars for a home they said they loved... sigh....
Very good. Would rent again.
Wonderful. So peaceful. Loved the view.
Great place. Outdoor play area needs some tlc.
Jennifer. Thank you for the five star review and thanks for the heads up on the play area. I will investigate and make the necessary improvements!

About Frank Biederer
Tisha and Frank grew up in Northern Illinois and were married in 1993. Tisha is a high school teacher and Frank is a self employed Executive Recruiter. We have two children, Riley age 13 and Parker Age 11. We have two golden retrievers, Zeus and Percy. Paramount Place was our home when we first moved to Georgia and we live about an hour away, in the northern suburbs of Atlanta. We moved to Georgia after we completed the construction of Paramount Place in 1997. (we designed and built the home ourselves...) It was our primary residence for about 2 years. We moved closer to Atlanta to get our children into a neighborhood where there were more kids to play with.

Why Frank Biederer chose Ellijay
Two Words..... The VIEW!
What makes this Cabin unique
First, the view is incredible. Panoramic Mountain view as far as you can turn your head from one side to another, with 2-3 rooftops visable at most. Even when it rains it is beautiful! The sunrises are so pretty. The mountains to the northwest literally light up BEFORE the sun breaks the eastern horizon. Full moons on a clear night are fantastic, lighting up the hills and valleys and making all the ridgelines show up at night. Nights with no moon reveal so many stars it reminds you how much residual light there is in most places we live. The fall colors are just stunning and winter leaves the tops of the mountains white with snow and ice and it will snow 3-4 times a year at the house. From a location standpoint, it is a great place to 'base camp' for your exploration of the North Georgia region. Amicalola Falls is 10 minutes, the Appalacian Trail is 10 minutes, two major moutain lakes (Lake Blue Ridge and Carters Lake) are within a half hour. The mountian communities of Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Jasper, Dahlonega are all within a half hour. You can canoe, kayak and raft on the Cartecay River within 10 minutes. You are at the edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest and it can serve as your playground with trails, hatcheries, mountains to climb and streams to swin and fish in. Atlanta and all its attractions are within an hour and 15 minutes. The Ocoee River Oylmpic Whitewater facility is an hour. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway can be picked up in Ellijay or Blue Ridge and is an open air train that takes you up a river valley all the way to Tennessee. Lots to do. Lots of Places to see. Funny thing is when we stay there, we stay there. We just sit on the deck or in the home with friends and family and enjoy the mountains right from the house. We suspect many of our guests do the same...
