Location, Location, Location - minutes to 101 and everything!
This guest cottage is private and charming - from the moment I entered the gate the scent of the foliage and a large orange tree in the garden welcomed me. Even though the weather was cold, the owner arranged the main room and bedroom to be warm and cozy upon arrival. The location is perfect for strolling or short walks to the center of town and close to excellent markets for food shopping. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Large flat screen in living room and smaller in bdrm. It's in a quiet area which was important. So was the non smoking policy. The owner makes one feel very welcome.
The apartment has such a great energy about it. Everything was very comfortable and cozy and I really felt at home there, in fact I miss it after I left. The bed is extremely comfortable and at night you can look through the skylight as the sounds of the crickets lull you to sleep. The star of the property is the yard/gardens. Eda did such a fabulous job with the garden that I took every moment I could to gaze out into the courtyard and enjoy the serenity and calmness it made me feel. And be sure you sit out at night with the twinkle lights in the garden as it makes you feel like you are in another world of wonderland. The location is great - it's on a really pretty tree-lined street and is within walking distance to 4th Street shops and restaurants. Eda, herself, is also the star of the property and she is such a delightful host and will do everything to make your stay a pleasant one.
We loved our stay at Eda's cute cottage and enjoyed everything about it. It was the perfect place to come home to after visiting our family in the area. This lovely, relaxing, fully equipped cottage was ideal. We even cooked a family dinner, complete with a Turkey, in the kitchen which had everything we needed. It is very clean and well decorated. It is light and bright with skylights and windows. The bed is super comfy for napping. Eda brings you clean towels and linens regularly. She is very caring and seems to enjoy hosting. She asked if we needed more blankets or anything and offered advice when asked. There are 2 wall hung TVs and a beautiful garden with outdoor dining tables. When we weren't relaxing in the garden under the giant beautiful oak tree, with Eda's lovely landscaping and herbs and fruit trees, we were enjoying the hot tub or walking to Downtown San Rafael's many great restaurants, shops and films at the Art Theater. We had a perfect stay and will return again and again when visiting family. We highly recommend it to anyone.
This place was perfect for our stay in the SF bay area. The unit itself is beautifully kept, very clean, and so cozy. The charming yard area is a wonderful place to enjoy your breakfast before heading out to the many, many great things to do in the area. It's close to everything! We wanted to see San Francisco, the wine country, and take some great hikes. This place is central to it all. The best part was Eda. She is a lovely host, very accommodating and full of great suggestions. I would highly recommend this place to anyone planning to visit the Bay Area.
The cottage was perfect! Immaculately clean, and the kitchenette had everything I needed. Great location for traveling to the Wine County and San Francisco. The owner of the property was really nice. Be sure to check out the brochures of things to do. Check out the Bay Model in Sausalito and hiking in Pt. Reyes. I highly recommend this place!!!
We really enjoyed our stay with Eda. She couldn't have been more accommodating, introducing us to plenty of fun things to do in the area and checking in to see if we needed anything extra. It is a cozy little house with a lovely back garden. I highly recommend the location so convenient to get to San Francisco and the wine country. The property is clean and well maintained at all times and it was a pleasure to stay there.
My daughter and I stayed in the cottage in July. San Rafael is lovely and the weather was perfect. The cottage is the perfect size for two people. It was a tad warm, typical July weather, but the ceiling fans cooled things off. Eda was sweet and even supplied us with beach towels for the hot tub. I recommend this property!
