Cedar Cove Inn
We just loved this house for our Family Reunion. I must say the house/ Inn was perfect with every bedroom and the very detail bathrooms were perfect. Every night we had an amazing sunset and view off the porch. We had all our meals on the porch with room to spare. The kitchen was huge, so all of us could help each other make all the meals. You have two sitting rooms and a large dinning room too. There is also a room down stairs for the kids to play.
Kathy greeted all of us and gave us the tour of this amazing home. Kathy and Gil worked hard to restore and furnish this amazing place. WELL DONE!
You can walk down to town and there's a play ground just down the hill from the house. BTW, there wasn't a TV in the house, but there is a piano and a CD player that we took out on the porch. Any family would love this place.
Perfection...with a veranda to die for.
Wow! In fact I'll double down with another Wow! Our family just finished a six day stay at The Cedar Cove Inn. Let me put it this way. If the entire state of Iowa was paved with asphalt with the Cedar Cove Inn sitting alone in the middle it would still be worth staying at because the house is so amazing, so beautiful and the proprietors so kind and gracious. Of course it sits majestically overlooking Puget Sound. Now to practical points that will be of use to people. We experienced Cedar Cove as a family compound but it's a bed@breakfast that also, perhaps primarily, rents by the room. I told my wife I could easily see staying as a couple because there are so many magical spots. It can accommodate a couples' inclination to mingle but preserve the option of privacy. As for a family gathering it was indescribably perfect. Gil and Kathy were kind and helpful but truly unobtrusive. They were available for help or suggestions. To preserve the coolness Gil closed the west outside blinds around 3:00p.m.but otherwise you would barely know they were there.....and we were a full family of conversation and pealing laughter. The location is surprisingly accessible to Seattle. A five minute walk down the hill and you're at the ferry. Tacoma is pretty darn close and there are trains that go right into Seattle. We had a great day seeing all the sights and closed it out with a Mariners game. Port Orchard is a handsome town, a perfect base to explore different regions. You're even closer to the Pacific coast. A bit of a haul but yes you are closer. In closing I would add that the property is incredibly well maintained. The photos accurately depict what to expect but in fact can't do it justice. No matter how long you stay you will still be discovering details of perfection and unerring good taste.....courtesy of Gil and Kathy. Thank-you both. Long review and guess what? Haven't even scratched the surface of what I loved about it.....p.s. Just read this to my wife and she said it would be a sin not to mention how perfect the kitchen is for a family that loves to cook. She's right.
Amazinng! Awesome! Beautiful! . . . perfect!
Those are just some of the adjectives that came from our family on our weekend reunion at Cedar Cove. From the oldest to the youngest, it was unanimous - this house was perfect.
First of all the hosts were great - making arrangements was easy, and Kathy greeted us to give us all the info we needed, about the house and the area. The house itself is even better than the pictures. Beautifully restored and furnished, and absolutely spotless. We spent the first hour just exploring all of its nooks and crannies. It's big enough for everyone to have the privacy they needed, but still cozy enough for us to be together - on the porches, looking at the amazing view, in the music room listening to our family talent playing the piano, in the parlor just reading and playing games . . . on and on. The bedrooms are large and quiet; beds were great. The kids loved the front and back lawns - they played bocci and croquet and just ran around enjoying the sunshine.
The kitchen is huge and stocked with everything we needed. Our family made meals for twenty without crowding or mess. Parking was generous - we had eight cars and would have had room for more. Location is great - easy walk down into Port Orchard for a visit to the tall ships, Saturday Market and antique shops, and handy to all the other amenities we needed - stores, ferries, freeways.
I could go on, but really, no need - this is just a great place. Try it.
My family and I recently had the privilege of staying at the Cedar Cove Inn. We found all aspects of the resort to be above our expectations. The surrounding areas were beautifully landscaped. The views of Sinclair Inlet and the Olympic mountain range were stunning. The Kitchen featured modern appliances and offered plenty of counter space. The dining room and family room were well furnished and also offered phenomenal views. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing time at a fantastic location.
Amazing place with an even more amazing view!
I stayed here with my family last weekend and had a wonderful time. This house is very well kept and has amazing views of the water. My family loves to cook so to have a kitchen large and plenty of dishes was awesome. All of the rooms were comfortable and well decorated with their own charm. The hardwood floors throughout the house are beautiful. They even had a crib for my daughter to sleep in. This is the perfect place for a family weekend or for a couple to come get away for the weekend. It is in perfect walking distance to downtown shopping and restaurants as well as the Port Orchard marina and park. Very fun weekend, would definatly come back!
Great place to stay. Gorgeous B&B great hosts
A group of friends has taken over this whole B&B for the last 3 years and intend to do so again in 2014. We use the entire B&B including taking over the kitchen.
The rooms are great, the common space quite spacious and the kitchen is huge (like a catering kitchen). We all love it and look forward to returning again and again. Description and photos are accurate, property beautifully maintained, owners helpful but not intrusive at all.
We haven't stayed individually with strangers in the other rooms, but there is a good deal of privacy and in the common spaces, plenty of room to settle without having to interact with others if you wish. The grounds are lovely and the 360 degree wrap around deck provides shade or sunbathing.
