About the property

Studio, Queen + Convertible bed, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

If you’re looking for an extremely clean, comfortable, nicely furnished place for several nights or more that’s convenient to everything you want to see and do in Wine Country…

If you want to be in the Santa Rosa area without having to see the city right outside your window…

If you want to relax in a tasteful, peaceful environment within easy reach of Sonoma County's best hiking and biking trails...

You’ll find all the comforts of home—and then some—at the Santa Rosa Creekside Studio. Detached from our home, the studio is located near major highways on the southeast side of Santa Rosa next to a creek that runs through the Bennett Valley area. The green canopy of trees and lush foliage outside your window will make you quickly forget you’re staying in the heart of Wine Country’s largest city!

Please note that the studio is a detached unit located adjacent to our home in a suburban neighborhood. Although you’ll have plenty of privacy while sitting in the hot tub or relaxing in the garden courtyard next to the unit, you will hear the sounds of civilization in the surrounding area. If you want a remote rural setting, this is not your best choice. But if you want a comfortable, elegant hideaway nearby everything you want to see and do, the Santa Rosa Creekside Studio can’t be beat!

The Santa Rosa Creekside Studio is literally minutes from dozens of Sonoma County’s finest wineries, the Russian River, redwood forest hiking trails, Sonoma State University and much more. Some of the nearby attractions (an hour or less) include San Francisco, Marin County, the Golden Gate Bridge, Bodega Bay and California’s breathtaking northern coastal areas, Sonoma, Napa, natural hot spring and mineral baths… the list goes on.

Perhaps the best description of our unit comes from satisfied guests... be sure to read the reviews.

FIRE DISPLACEMENT- Please note that, from Nov. 1 2017 - April 30, 2018 we require a minimum 90-day rental to help create space for those displaced by the Northern California fires. Lodging tax does not apply.

About Tim Smith

Barbara and Tim are your property owners, and Tim will handle the communication regarding your rental inquiries and booking. Barbara is a psychotherapist, and Tim is a marketing consultant and website designer.

We have worked together to create this vacation rental unit and put love into the project. We want you to enjoy your stay, and so we've tried to imagine what we would want if we were staying there.

If it's within reason and we can help, we'll do what we can. Our goal is to have you come back and refer your friends!

Tim Smith purchased this studio in 2010

Why Tim Smith chose Santa Rosa

This studio is on our residential property, so it wasn't a separate purchase (as the question kind of implies...) Our goal was to create a vacation rental that would give us enough extra income to do more vacationing ourselves! The space was completely refurbished in July, 2010.

What makes this studio unique

Probably the best aspect of the Santa Rosa Creekside Studio is where it's located. You get a private, woodsy view on the banks of a creek that runs through Santa Rosa's Bennett Valley area. But you are just minutes from dozens of wineries, and an hour or less to the Pacific Coast, San Francisco, the Russian River, Napa and Sonoma, Redwood forests, you name it. We're only a couple minutes from two major highways, and you can get around Santa Rosa from here on foot, by bike and by car. Downtown Santa Rosa is just a 7-minute drive.

Fantastic stay in central location!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights here while we toured Sonoma wine country and we had an incredible time! The home is within 20-30 minutes of all regions we wanted to visit (Sebastopol, Healdsburg, and Glen Ellen) and was a fantastic retreat after a long day of drinking wine :)

Tim was extremely hospitable - making sure we had everything we needed while still respecting our space and privacy. I would highly recommend this VRBO and plan to stay here again!

Cute cottage

  • 3 of 5

This was a cute cottage with pretty backdrop of creek with lots of foliage. Tim was incredibly responsive to all inquiries. That being said, not a good choice if you have allergies/sensitivities, if you need lots of quiet, or if it bothers you being extremely close to the main house. If these things are only minor annoyances for you, then I would recommend you stay.

Owner's Response: In nearly 10 years of operating our vacation rental, we have never had a complaint about anything triggering an allergy attack inside the studio. Our general area (Sonoma County) has been known to set off allergies (my son has this issue when he returns to the area from LA...) But to associate regional allergies with our vacation rental is, I believe, unfair and misplaced. As for environmental sounds outdoors, you will hear some since we are in a well-populated area. This is clearly disclosed in our listing information. That said, with 100 guest reviews over 10 years, almost all of them are 5 stars, and many guests have commented on how their privacy was respected. if you are considering staying at Creekside, take a few minutes and read through those reviews for a balanced view of what to expect here.

Great studio for a great price

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the studio for a birthday trip for me. The studio was very nice and comfortable. Tim was very friendly. He was there if we needed anything but gave us our privacy. We spent a day in Napa, a day following Tim's itinerary on the website and a day in Sonoma. This location was great for all of these.

Another vacation rental that didn't disappoint.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were in the area for a friends destination wedding in the Sonoma valley. We have done vacation rentals in our home state but never out of state. This was definitely a good pick! We loved every part about this cute, relaxing, quiet and charming studio. It felt like a little home away from home. The homeowners made us feel very welcomed and left us a nice (and delicious) bottle of wine for us to enjoy. Since we stayed during the 100 + degree heat wave in September it was hard to enjoy the patio but we did for some brief periods in the mornings and evenings which was very nice. No complaints and would recommend this place to anyone staying in Santa Rosa or close to wine country. Not far from hundreds of wineries and there is a nice portfolio of things to do around the area if wine isn't your thing (or if it is too stinkin' hot to drink wine). Would definitely stay here again if my husband and I find ourselves back in the area. Thank you Tom and Barbara!
