Another dream come true for these owners. Jo has owned this property since the early 90's and lost the original house in a hurricane. David has been visiting Caye Caulker for years and then decided that he really wanted a home to come to instead of somebody else's. They got together on this project. With large families, making a home for everyone meant a large house! Recently married here too, David worked hard alongside his two sons and together pretty much built everything! Built on posts to make the most of the island breezes, it is designed for easy living in airy living spaces with private bedrooms and two beautiful bathrooms. Decks to the front and rear make sitting out in shady places always possible.
ONCE AGAIN NOTE: NO AC & the Property is not on the water
The vast living and kitchen area boasts beautiful local hardwoods that are recently varnished to a furniture shine. The cozy sitting area has a comfortable sofa and chairs and a TV. There is a massive dining table for eating, playing and drinking! There are 2 bedrooms with twin and queen beds, each have access to the bathroom. Annexed to this is the master suite with a queen bed where there is also a kitchenette with it's own bathroom, private porch and lockable doors from the outside and inside. Inside and up the steps you come to a large loft area, perfect for the kids to get away from under your feet and lots of space with banisters for safety and a large fan.

If all the full house is not needed then rooms can be locked off and a lower fee applied for both room rental and for cleaning. for example, if only two rooms needed then the high season fee is reduced to $139 per night and $899 for week. NEVER WILL THE NON-USED ROOMS BE RENTED BY ANOTHER PARTY DURING YOUR STAY.
FINALLY LET ME EMPHASIZE THAT THIS HOME IS NOT LOCATED ON THE WATER, BUT THE WATER IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE. THERE IS NO POOL, BUT WATER IS ACCESSIBLE. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING, BUT THE FANS WITH FEW EXCEPTIONS COOL THE HOME EFFECTIVELY.

About: A retired minister from NYC with a penchant for island life, David stepped onto Caye Caulker and immediately found himself at home. The island life was immediately restorative and so he decided to build a place to share with family, friends and the occasional vacationer looking for that perfect get-away to unwind and explore. Now living in Mississippi, he continues to enjoy the laid back island life, the diving and the fishing (not to mention the local night life) as often as he can.
Why Belize District, Belize:
This wonderful, non-pretentious island offered the most delightful place of refuge that I had ever found. With the exception of the exterior and interior photographs, the attached photos are of favorite spots on the island and are not representative of the house's location.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Designed by myself and my sons with large, airy rooms, lots of natural hardwood and plenty of natural light, the house invites you to relax, just relax. But then there is the decision to choose between excellent diving with one of several master dive shops or snorkel with Carlos or fly fish with an island guide or swim at the Split or sit in the bar and sip a Belikan while looking out over the turquoise waters....
