About Monica Cameron

We spent our honeymoon in Gatlinburg and loved it so much, that we eventually purchased a mountain getaway. There are so many fun things to do in the area, we love to go visit any free time we can break away, especially with our three grandchildren.

Why Monica Cameron chose Chalet Village

Gatlinburg is a special place to our family with lots of great activities for the entire family.

What makes this cabin unique

Relaxation, sightseeing, shopping, activities for the kids

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family enjoyed this cabin for our Spring Break getaway, and we will definitely be back as soon as we can break away once again to the mountains. The kitchen was well equipped with everything anyone would need. We loved the open living/dining area with the great views. Great decorations and furniture and we slept great at this cabin, very refreshing!! We hope to return back in the fall.

Nice perch in the mountains

  • 4 of 5

Pretty little modern house atop the mountain. It is about halfway up to Ober Gatlinburg, and you can see the gondola go by every few minutes. The rooms were clean and fresh. The accommodations were fine for four of us. The kitchen had everything we would want. I will say that it is a steep, windy climb up to this house. Bring everything you think you might need -- food, drink, etc. -- because once you are there for the evening, you will not want to leave in the dark! Also, be sure to DOWNSHIFT as you drive down from here so as not to harm your brakes (which we did because we hadn't done our research on "mountain braking" in advance). You can see the lights of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge at night, and by day, the far mountains behind Pigeon Forge. It was peaceful and serene. Cons: no laundry & the clubhouse was not open in fall, when we were there.

Perfect Jumping Off Point for Gaitlinburg & Pigeon Forge

  • 5 of 5

Three generations of our family shared the house for a few days in anticipation of the 2017 Solar Eclipse. The house was in perfect condition with all the accouterments in place. The living room/dining room provided was bright and airy space to assemble as a group while the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable for five adults and two children. The outside deck overlooking the valley was where the adults could be found each evening.

Tip: Escape the tourist traffic and parking hassles of Downtown Gaitlinburg. We found it a shorter drive and easier to park at Ober Gaitlinburg and descend into Downtown via the aerial tramway cable car.

The house had areas that needed to be cleaned (lamp shades, carpeting, fan blades, etc). Also, the glass table in the living room is really unsafe for families with small children. Our 3 year old son fell into the table teeth first, spent the night in the ER, completely broke his tooth from the root and is having oral surgery to repair it as well as stitches to close the large cut on the gum line.

Great place to stay. Would recommend.

The morning of our leaving, a momma bear and her 3 cubs walked through right in the driveway. The night before we left, we sat on the balcony and watched fireworks in pigeon forge!!
