House, 7 Bedrooms, 5 Baths, (Sleeps 14)
Located at 2408 Dauphine Street, the first thing you will notice on approaching the fully restored 1880's, 2-story frame Italianate house is the exceptionally fine wrought iron corn stalk fence at the front of the property (one of three known in New Orleans). The front of the house is a 3-bay, columned, double gallery with diamond motifs, decorative wrought iron railings, a recessed doorway, and cornice with paired brackets.
The interior has all the features of an American townhouse in the Italianate design including side hall staircase and beautiful heart pine floors throughout. Boasting of 14 foot ceilings on the ground floor and 12 foot ceilings on the second floor, the 4,400 square feet comprises seven guest rooms decorated in period style appointments and complete original decorative mantles. All bedrooms save one open to a balcony or to the large L-shaped courtyard with brick patio, two covered seating areas, and fountain.
This lovely home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and decorated throughout with many beautiful and unique items from the owners’ extensive art collection.

Charming yet sprawling quintessential New Orleans!
Rented this house for the weekend for a Bachelorette party and it couldn't have been more perfect! Everything about it is classic New Orleans which all added to the amazing experience of the weekend. It's an old house with lots of the original structure, but kitchen and bathrooms are all renovated, so it's the perfect balance. It's in a charming neighborhood surrounded by other beautiful colorful homes, yet is a very easy walking distance from all the action on Frenchman and Bourbon Streets. Couldn't have asked to be in a better place! Chuck, the owner, is extremely responsive and accommodating to our needs.
5 stars and HIGHLY recommend this home for your next NOLA visit!
A one of a kind house in Faubourg. Just a few blocks from Frenchman. Great patio and balconies too.
Stayed with 12 people for a bachelor party. It was perfect. Great outdoor space and balconies to enjoy as well. Plenty of beds for everyone. The only thing we worried about was that it was “too nice” and we might break something, but that was unwarranted. It’s a great place - highly recommend.
Amazing place and a wonderful host
We had a group of 12 stay at Collinwood House and had a wonderful time. The house is amazing and has all that you'll need. Chuck was a great host that made us feel as if we were at home. Very accommodating and extremely polite and pleasant.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to have such a wonderful time in such a wonderful place.
All the best,
Wow, what a fantastic place to stay while you are in New Orleans.
The home is very large and easily accommodated our party of twelve. Unlike some other places I looked at, you can get in and out of all of the bedrooms without having to walk through another bedroom. The common areas are huge and no one ever felt crowded.
Our host, Chuck, was extremely gracious and flexible with all the different arrival times. A plus is that he lives close by and can help out if anything comes up.
The location is perfect. Walking distance to the French Quarter, close, but not too close. There are plenty of nice restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, so you don't have to go far for great eats.
It was so nice to stay in an historic home with beautiful decor and a player piano. It really rounded out the whole vacation. I highly recommend staying here!!! Thank you Chuck!!!!
Amazing stay and home!
We had a wonderful time staying at the Collinwood house. We had a group of 14 people, and despite our size, there were more than enough bathrooms and the house felt very very spacious. It was also very easy to coordinate with the owner, Chuck. I can't say better things about my experience here. I'd recommend it to any of my friends!
A stunning home in a perfect location...
The Collinwood House is a wonderful combination of comfort and beauty. We stayed for 4 nights and came to think of it as home. It’s just a short walk from the music of Frenchman St., yet in a peaceful, laid back area. Photos don’t do justice to the eclectic decor of the house itself, and Chuck (the owner) couldn’ t be more accommodating and hospitable. There were 9 people in our group, and we were on the go the whole time we were in New Orleans, but the Collinwood House, with it’s lovely patio area and comfortable porches, was a vacation all it’s own! It is cleaner than almost any hotel we’ve stayed in and we frequent 5 diamond B&B’s. We highly recommend the personal chef Chuck knows she is outstanding. We used Livery Limo Tours. It was the trip of a lifetime.
Located steps away from Frenchman Street the epicenter of jazz/blues. Additionally the Preservation Hall and other venues.
