This cabin on the Kentucky River is artful and attractive to the max. I can see doing a Vogue magazine shoot here. Old Kentucky antiques are used to delightful effect. It’s a visual wow.
HOWEVER – this is a spot for young folks. There are broken and steep stone steps from the parking area to the kitchen door. The only bathroom is down a precipitous flight of steps from the bedroom. The second bedroom is a loft accessible only by a rustic ladder. I had planned to sleep there, but wasn’t brave enough. (Little boys would love this! Mature adults would not.) The TV was smaller than our computer screen and not as user-friendly. The shower is a tiny stall. There is no closet space or room to unpack your belongings.
If you realize what you’re getting into, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Bring your camera. I would love to give a party here and sleep somewhere else.
The little cabin is very charming and comfortable. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Kate was a wonderful hostess and we very much appreciated how easy she made it. There were fresh flowers in 3 rooms, which was a special touch of kindness. We loved having a glass of wine sitting on the patio and walking down the country road to enjoy the river and the cliffs behind the cabin. Can't wait to go back again.
This property is exactly as described. A secluded rustic cabin type house. Kate was very nice in arranging things and I was surprised to find that it has everything you need. Just be sure to stop and get groceries before you arrive. It's very quiet and the heat works very well.
We stayed in the cabin for two weeks in late July and early August for an event at the Kentucky Horse Park and it was perfect for us. We brought our two year old golden retriever and needed a place that was pet friendly.
Kate was very accommodating...fresh flowers were placed in the kitchen and bedroom. There was a problem with the wi fi and Kate was very prompt at getting it taken care of.
The patio was great...we had an outdoor cookout with our barn friends...so much fun! The kids loved the fire flies. Thanks, Kate!
Unfortunately our plans changed last minute and we couldn't stay at the cabin, yet I still wanted to write this review because Kate was *very* accommodating. She worked with us for a fair % refund and her check was in my mailbox within a week. You couldn't ask for a more reasonable owner on this site to deal with.
We stayed here for 3 days and was very nice. Kate the owner was excellent, accommodating to all our needs. Even bought a new barbecue for us. Nice area and will come back if in the area.
