Great rental

  • 5 of 5

Our group had a great experience renting the Hagberg house. It is big enough for a large group, well-equipped, and very conveniently-located, especially for skiing Homewood! Highly recommended!

Our group includes grandparents, adult children and grandkids ranging from 2nd grade to college.

The Hagberg house is perfect for my family. The youngest grandkids are happy being so close to Homewood for skiing. This being our 2nd year, they've met other kids nearby to sled etc. We're hoping it's available after Christmas next year!

Property was nice however customer service from Property Management was rude & unprofessional

  • 1 of 5

Rented the Hagberg house in the beginning of December and upon my days of stay, there was a bad storm (1/7-1/9). Was warned that electricity may go out and to call if does. Upon the first day of stay, it was pleasant although the rain poured outside. The master bedroom was great and overall floor layout was comfortable. The house was tidy and accommodating. On the second day, the electricity was down. Upon trying to reach the office, there was no response. We burned firewood to stay somewhat warm and used flashlights for vision. All our phones died and we had no means of using power. Despite this, board games provided by the house were played to enjoy the stay. However, this was not the experience we were expecting upon paying early December.

Upon returning the keys, we tried to express our dissatisfaction with the second night to the staff on 1/9. The response was surprising, completely opposite of the utmost politeness provided by the staff working on 1/7. In the lobby, at normal speaking volume, we informed one of the ladies working of the issues we had due to the blackout. During this, the other lady working at the main desk interrupted and said, "excuse me I'm on the phone". I then requested if we could speak in another room because apparently I was being rude by speaking at room volume in the lobby. The request was denied. Then, we were passed to the lady on the phone to tell of the downed internet, lack of light, heating and oven. She aggressively kept trying to deflect our dissatisfaction and when we mentioned that we tried to call the office the day of the black out, she said the office's power was out with a hostile attitutde. We were asked to leave after trying to voice what we went through during blackout, then she threatened to call the cops if we did not leave. We kept on kindly expressing what happened and other lady went to grab a male coworker to tell us they were going to call the cops if we did not leave. This felt like like an attempt at intimidation because there was no reason to get the male coworker involved. He did not converse in the ordeal, he only threatened to call the cops. We left after we saw the lady at the desk was getting increasingly hostile.

The service may not be reflective of the property management company, however this was my true, unbiased experience; I am unsatisfied and have been left with an unfavorable impression. The house is nice but I can not recommend the company.

Owner's Response: Sarn, It is unfortunate that you felt that staff was unkind and rude upon your departure. The weather was out of our control and does not constitute a refund. However, we were quite willing to send a request to the appropriate party. We are glad that you and your group were able to enjoy your time even with the circumstances. The staff that was on duty could not offer a discount at the time you were in the office, and you were asked multiple times to put your request in writing and told that we would gladly see what we could do. This was a situation where we were not going to get anywhere until we reached out to the appropriate parties. I would invite those that are reading this review to reach out with any questions or concerns as we are a professional team with many years of experience. Again, we are sorry that your time up in Tahoe was not what you expected - the weather in January has been extraordinary. Your Wells and Bennett Team

Tahoe Swiss Village

  • 5 of 5

We completely enjoyed our stay at West Shore. The Hagberg home was large, but cozy and in a wonderful location. We loved it and will book it again next year. The beauty of Lake Tahoe and all the amenities nearby make it a perfect vacation destination. Nice home and well stocked for a pleasant stay. There were 11 of us, ranging in age from 7 to 70, and we all had a great time!

Excellent for multiple families - our 2nd stay

  • 5 of 5

3 families shared this house on 2 visits, in 2013 and 2014. It was very comfortable with ample bed and living space for 3 families of 4 people each (12 total). The kitchen is very well stocked with any cooking and eating utensils you would need for a large group. The location is 1 block from Lake Tahoe and very easy to get to.

The house itself is very comfortable, well-maintained and clean, and is a mix of older and newer designs. The property managers were very nice/easy to deal with.
