Spend your vacation in a classic Old Lake Tahoe lakefront home on a quiet street with spectacular panoramic views. A private pier, buoy, decks, and the view make this an ideal vacation home. The main house includes three floors, five bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, laundry room, and an historic log cabin, (available summer only - sleeps two). Maximum occupancy in the winter is 8 people and in the summer, with the additional of the log cabin, 10 people.
The main floor features an open floor plan with living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms (each with Queen sized bed), TV, and a spacious deck, all with fabulous views. Upstairs is a half bath, two small bedrooms (each furnished with one twin bed) and a common area with futon -- great for the kids! The stairs going downstairs does have a lift chair installed for the owner, who is handicapped. The lower floor has a TV and sofa bed, a large bedroom with a California King bed, a full bathroom, and laundry (washer and dryer). Helpful, friendly longtime caretaker resides in unattached upper cabin (not pictured). This home has stairs to log cabin and pier and is a perfect vacation home. The views are breathtaking, especially at sunset.

Stayed here with 10 of my buddies for a bachelor party and we had a great time. The cabin accommodated all of us easily. The location is pretty good; not too far from any one area nor too close. The view was absolutely incredible. We couldn't have asked for more based on what we payed for the weekend. The property is managed so the pick up and drop off of the keys was easy.
A perfect vacation home for a family reunion. 5th generation of family going to Meeks Bay. Having the separate cabin was just perfect. There was plenty of room for everyone. Plenty of room on the scenic deck and in the living room for massive game nites. It is a very short walk to Meeks Bay from the house, or just relax on the private dock. Beautiful views of Lake Tahoe from both decks. I would definately recommend this home for a vacation at Lake Tahoe.
The home has outstanding lake views from both decks and it has a number of water toys for use from the private dock. The buoy at the end of the dock was very convenient for tying up a boat. There is ample room for a large gathering and the caretaker living on the property was very helpful when we had some problems. The kitchen had the basics for a rental and there were ample sheets, towels and blankets for all of the sleeping arrangements. The beds were fine with a comfortable king in the master bedroom. The upstairs was cozy but worked out fine for kids.
Although the unit is advertised as “Old Tahoe”, old shouldn't mean not clean and we felt that the house should be much cleaner than it is. The main house could use a deep cleaning not just the cleaning done between tenants. For example, the stairwell carpeting should be shampooed, bathrooms could use a thorough cleaning, windows should be washed, bedding and throw rugs washed, kitchen thoroughly scrubbed, etc.
The unit was advertised as having Broadband Access but the internet connection is a wireless service that has restrictions in the number of concurrent connections and throughput (shared with the caretaker). Not a major concern but it should be corrected on the rental listing as having restricted wireless Wi-Fi access.
The dock needs some minor repairs. There are screws sticking out on boards making it a hazard if you are barefooted and some of the railing is loose, making it unstable if you are depending on using it to navigate around the edge of the dock.
We had sewer problems with the cabin (not the main house) and apparently this is something that occurs from time to time. It made the cabin's bathroom unusable even though the caretaker had the plumber out the same day. They fixed the immediate problem but the bathroom was still not usable because of the raw sewage smell coming out from beneath the toilet. During the blockage the sewage not only went into the shower but it also came out from the bottom of the toilet.
Overall our experience was positive except for the items noted above. If addressed we would have rated the overall experience higher.
We rented the house for a long weekend. It was great! The house is spacious and comfortable with a nice-sized common room--excellent for meals and hang out time. The house has a nice big deck that is securely fenced and safe for kids. The best feature is the view. Absolutely fabulous! The dock to the lake was nice too and made for nice star-gazing at night.
Staying at this home is Tahoe was such a delight! It was such a great piece of property on the lake. It was comfortable, affordable, and offered so much more than we had hoped. Sitting out on the deck, soaking up the beautiful views was such a treat!!! I loved the Old Tahoe feel. We eagerly look forward to coming back to this home. What an amazing and relaxing vacation!!
Horrible sleeping arrangements. Pull out couches uninhabitable. Third story sleeping arrangement uninhabitable. Funton in small cabin can sleep on.
Cabin wasn't clean to my standards. Dock needed some maintenance.
