Beautiful view of Meeks Bay. Easy walk down to the Lake. The place was clean and comfortable. The front porch was a great place to sit and view the lake. Would definitely book there again. The only challenge is the parking. If the owners are there, parking is very limited , ( 1 car, possibly 2 ).. An easy drive to Meeks Bay , where you can park and stay at the beach for $10 / day. Owner need to replace the antique gas grill however. It isn't expensive to get a new grill. The grill was only working on one side and had to be lit with a match thrown on the gas. Barely enough heat to cook a hotdog. Overall, a great place to go, especially if you grew up going to Meeks.
The cabin was clean & seemed quite spacious. The furnishings are very nice, & just about everything we needed was available - though a better floor lamp for reading in the livingroom might be a thought. The view from the deck is absolutely beautiful any time of day or night. There is so much positive to say about the place. I liked that we could park our car in the garage. But that brings me to the one truly negative thing: the parking in the small col-de-sac. If the Coward cabin & 'big house', plus the next door neighbors' over-the-garage-cabin & 'big house' are all occupied at the same time & each set of occupants have 2 cars - which happened often, the parking becomes extremely tricky. There were a couple of times when we had to ask someone to move their vehicle so we could get out. It's a bad situation, but I don't know what coud be done about it? It's really too bad because otherwise, the Coward Cabin is a wonderful, well-thought out & delightful place!
