Why Laurie McConville chose Whistler

I choose to buy this home because it is so unique. It's so private & quiet. I love the grand wood burning fireplace and the log post and beams. There's only 6 units in the building and the village is only 5-7 minute drive. You get the best of both worlds. Taluswood's is a very special place.

They kept our damage deposit for no reason, and aren't being upfront about it.

The Tantalus Lodge is nice enough, outside of Creekside and surrounded by trees. It's been around for ages. The property itself is well maintained.

This owner did not give correct entry information then surprised us at the end of the visit by keeping our damage deposit. I'm not sure I'll use VRBO again because of them.

Nice location, but property poorly managed.

On the address description there was no mention of the unit number or that it was a basement condo. If we had not run into the lady cleaning the unit we would have had difficulty finding the condo. She was in the process of setting mouse traps, because the previous occupant had seen mouse droppings. We did one better and found a rat living in the cupboard on the deck, didn't really make it inviting to hang out on the deck. The pool was very nice and complex well taken care of, but the unit needs some fixing; microwave has no handle, fan in bathroom broken and patio door does not move or lock very well. None of this stopped us from having a nice vacation at Whistler.

Well appointed townhouse

Good quiet location in Creekside. Well appointed townhouse with separate garage to store your seasonal toys. Easy ride to the creekside gondola for biking/skiing. Private deck. Great communication with owner. Easy stay.

Oh, and the common pool and hottub are perfectly maintained.

Cozy, comfortable accommodation in Whistler.

This is the second time we have stayed in this condo and it has been perfect for us each time. It is cozy, comfortable and clean with all the amenities that one would need for a week away. The bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable as is the couch in the living room. There is a garage, hot tub and pool on site as well, which we appreciate and enjoy while vacationing. The pool has always been quiet while we have stayed and the garage is private (just for the unit) so we have had a safe place to store our expensive bikes.

We had issues with parking our first night of the stay but we managed to find a place higher up the hill, which was just a short walk away. I called and emailed the owner to let her know to see if she had any other suggestions for parking and although she was not available that night she did email me back the next day.

This property is away from the main area of Whistler (closer to creekside) but we prefer that as there is less hustle and bustle in this area of town.

Perfectly located in a beautiful spot!

We were here for 3 nights and wish we had longer.

It was a wonderful place to base ourselves while we enjoyed the wonderful Whistler area.

Although the unit was a little more dated than we realized from the images, it didn't detract at all from our enjoyment. It was VERY comfortable, well appointed and had everything we needed to really enjoy our stay.

Great value for money - would definitely recommend it!

Not great

We were welcomed upon arrival to a large construction dumpster and blue tarp covering the roof. It seems the roof was being repaired. There was roof tile debris all over the patio, as well. There is a list of unpleasantness. We left early, needless to say.

The screen door's screen is torn out in the bottom corner.

The window in the bedroom is not efficiently working.

The stovetop was still dirty from the last guest.

The bed is so large in the main bedroom only one person has access to the floor without climbing over the other.

The place is an allergic mess. I seldom am allergic to pets but this suite had my lungs quite wheezy. I don't think the couch blankets and pillows have been cleaned in some time.

Owner's Response: `I wish I had a received a phone call, this is the last thing I want! I want my guest to enjoy there stay and I'm always available to make that happen. Some of these things could have been taken care of immediately.The roof is being replaced and they were to be done by now, I'll let strata know about debris on deck. Window and screen will be taken care immediately. I have plans to change bedroom around so there is access on both sides of the bed.He home is professionly cleaned after each guests, but I'll check in with them as well. Just on a last note, my goal is always to operate my vacation rental as if I'm the guests. Thank You for reading my reply! t
