Have your own Paradise in this neat canal-front half duplex on the ocean side, off Boot Key. Your boat is right outside of your sliding glass door, 10 steps away. Head straight out to Sombrero Light for some of the best snorkeling in the world, go fish, and afterwards watch the pelicans dive for handouts when you clean your catch at the fish-cleaning table on the dock. Sunsets at the 7 Mile Bridge are only a few minutes away.
The living area is airy and open, with an unusual wood cathedral ceiling which pleasantly contrasts with the tile floors. If you're not too tired from fishing, the TV offers expanded and movie channels.
The kitchen area is well-organized and fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave and baker-broiler. There's even a stock of herbs and spices for those moments of culinary creativity.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed with a duel control air mattress, and the second bedroom is a quiet retreat with full size bed. The leather sofa in the living room offers yet another fold-out queen size bed. The full bath is conveniently located between the two bedrooms with a second door that provides direct access to the master bedroom.
Washer and dryer are in a separate utility room accessed from the dock.
Bring your own boat(s) or rent one locally, there is plenty of deep-water dock space, no need to worry about low tides here.

The Sunset Grill about a mile away has a large, beautiful pool available to the public, at the Seven Mile Bridge. It is also the perfect location to view winter sunsets and look for that elusive “green flash” just as the sea swallows the last rays of the sun.

I highly recommend the 1/2 duplex at 409 26th Street in Marathon.
I rented it in Feb 2011 and was pleased at the cleanliness and the fact that the owner was very accomodating in fixing any problems that arose, as well as informative about things going on inthe area.
I booked for next year.
We booked our stay from 8/5 through 8/20. Nice quiet neighborhood. ,The location was great for going out deep sea fishing or going lobstering.It was clean with a nice kitchen. Water pressure in the shower was a pleasant surprise.We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the dock. It was too hot and sunny any other time of day as there was no shade.
The owner, made a point to come introduce herself and ask if everything was satisfactory. The four of us had a good time.
A friend and I stayed at Peggy's place the week of Memorial Day and we were blessed with beautiful weather and decent fishing. The duplex unit, of typical circa 1960s Florida Keys getaway architecture with a nice deep canal to accommodate our boat. Access to both the Atlantic and Gulf around Boot Key and the 7 mile bridge was quite easy. Boat fuel , bait and ice on the way out was about as convenient as it gets in the keys. Grocery and other supply needs are few minutes drive. Sombrero Beach just a few minutes away for a dip in the Ocean as well. The interior of the unit has been modernized to some degree making it a pleasant place to cool down and prepare a meal before heading to bed. Beds were clean and comfortable and the Shower water pressure was much better than most places I have stayed in the Keys before. Are there more plush accommodations in the Keys? Of course! but you will pay much much more for it and your boat may be hundreds of feet away from your door, not right outside the door like here. We liked that A lot! For enjoying on the water activities this is a perfect place for a reasonable price. We would stay here again for sure.
Arrive a little earlier than expected and place was ready, clean and cozy. we had a great time fishing and location was perfect for morning walk to breakfast and dinner.
Cant wait to go back!!
Very nice and clean 2 bedroom duplex, stayed 15 days and enjoyed the canal patio, quite neighborhood , and a super central location in the Keys. Great friendly neighbors. Would recommend this to anyone wanting a nice vacation.
A one star is too high! Upon arrival we found the property to be filthy and unkept. All ceiling fans had dust and dirt hanging off them.. The kitchen faucet had to be replaced, the refrigerator leaked water all over the floor and the handles were so filthy we did not want to touch them. You could hardly see thru the glass of the sliding glass door which did not lock and the toaster oven was a joke. The air conditioner was as filthy as the ceiling fans. The sheets were stained and had holes. The bathroom shower and curtain were filthy and sink hardly drained. We could go on and on. The owner is combative and difficult to deal with. The pictures look good but Renter-be-ware
We booked this rental from Feb 8th through the 22nd. We arrived a day early and the owner was nice enough to let us stay . We had a great time fishing and site seeing. The place was clean and we felt like the place was ours. We liked the time we spent there so much that we can't wait to go back.
