About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Come visit our beautifully decorated, serene, three-bedroom/two-bath home bordering the Feather River and Plumas National Forest. Offering 1,500 square feet of living space, it features a fully-equipped kitchen, cable TV/DVR, Blu-ray, and CD player, and a large redwood deck with a view of the river. Our home sleeps six persons.

The Feather River is known for its fishing; and in the warm months it's very calm and swimmable. The Graeagle area is located at 4,400 ft. elevation in the eastern Sierra Mountains, about 50 miles north of Truckee. In the winter the area has about two feet of snow---pretty but not too deep! If you want to get away to a quiet location, good for cross country skiing or snow shoeing, away from the hustle and bustle of Tahoe, this is it!

Summer recreation is incredible. The home is within walking distance of the Plumas Pines Golf Resort (an 18-hole golf course) -- with four other golf courses within minutes.

Besides golfing, the area offers opportunities for hiking, biking, boating, fishing, rafting, eating out at charming, rustic restaurants, and local community events.

Plumas Eureka State Park is five miles up the road, where you can learn about the region's fascinating mining history. A one-hour scenic drive takes you to the North star ski area and Lake Tahoe. But, you won't want to leave!

About Pete and Sue Williams

WE, the Williams family have owned this house since its construction in 1993. Pete and Sue live in Nevada City while sister Jan lives in Seattle, but manages to make a visit at least once a year to one of her favorite places.

Pete and Sue Williams purchased this house in 1993

Why Pete and Sue Williams chose Blairsden

We chose this wonderful spot because we love all the mountains, lakes, and golf courses that surround the area. We are always finding some place new to explore in the area. It is a great place to relax and get away from the crowds.

What makes this house unique

Our vacation home borders he Feather River and Plumas National Forest. We love to sit on the deck and enjoy the view and watch the wildlife. It is fun to take bike rides, go for walks, take hikes and go to nearby lakes to go kayaking. Of course there golf is another activity that we enjoy too. Sometimes we cook dinner, but often we choose to go visit one of the great restaurants near by. Two of our favorites are Gumba's (for a casual meal) or The Iron Door in Johnsville for a more elegant meal. It is also fun to go to Graeagle and visit the little shops that housed in the old residences of the original "mill" town and then hang out at the "mill" pond for some sun. We love it and hope you will too.

Perfect family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a week in this lovely house with our 2 teenage boys. It was perfect! The open family room with the high ceilings, nice size (fully loaded) kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and especially the beautiful deck (with gas grill) overlooking the wooded area & a small path down to the Feather River (great for fun fly fishing)

A nice setting within steps of Plumas Pines golf course - and a close drive into Graeagle & all of the amazingly beautiful surrounding lakes. Multiple hikes close by.

The property owners were very responsive & thoughtful with every thing in the house. We've used VRBO all over the world & this house did not disappoint. Would definitely come back!

We stayed two nights in early September for our cousin's wedding that took place at the Mill Pond and Corner Barn. Two other couples stayed with us as well. The property photos and proximity to the wedding ceremony and reception are what initially sold us on this place. Being a first-time VRBO user, I still had some reservations (no pun intended). The property Owner aleiviated a lot of my unease by his timely responsiveness to every inquiry, and friendly demeanor. Key pick-up/drop off was a breeze (even though we arrived after business hours on Friday, and departed early on Sunday).

Upon arrival on Friday evening, we found the neighborhood to be very quiet and meticulously maintained. The house has a very open floorplan, and with the vaulted ceilings, we never felt crowded, despite having six adults staying under one roof. We even had and some family stop by for dinner on Friday night. Between the dinette table, dining table, spacious living room and rear deck seating, we were never stepping over one another, and had plenty of room to mill around. My husband really appreciated being able to BBQ on the rear deck with a great forest view.

Although we brought some kitchen items with us, there was really no need. The house was pretty much stocked with everything. Everything inside and out was very clean, and well-maintained. Neighbors were very friendly and the area is gorgeous!

We loved it so much, we're hoping to stay there again this summer. We didn't get to explore the area or enjoy the river as much as we would have liked, given the wedding itinerary, and are really looking forward to a return visit.

It's so nice when things go as planned, and even better when expecations are exceeded. Thanks for a great first experience using VRBO!

Lovely View

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the fact that the expansive deck overlooks a forested area and it's possible to hike down to a creek from the backyard. The house is well maintained, clean, and loaded with dishes and cooking utensils. We did miss having some ice cube trays, but I'm sure that's easily remedied.

Fantastic Place

This was a great place. The house was very nice and had everything that we needed. It was also a short walk to the pool and had a great deck overlooking the woods. Looking forward to coming back.

Avid golfers - this is a good place to stay

  • 5 of 5

212 Sequoia is clean, well-stocked and comfortable, and the setting is quiet and peaceful. The property manager was helpful and responsive. The best courses in the area are very close by - we played four times in three days: Dragon at Nakoma is impossibly beautiful but difficult; Grizzly Ranch is picturesque and more playable. Dinner at the Grizzly Grill in Blairsden is highly recommended.
