ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Our A-frame is at the turn off to go to Cherokee Village. It is on a private drive behind the old Catfish Restaurant (the restaurant has sold; The name may change). We have 11 acres including a two story home down the way. Additionally, down the bluff, via a walking trail (you can also access by car), we own a couple of acres on the waterfront by the falls that are shown in the pictures on VRBO. You can wade in the water, swim, launch your canoe, picnic or play a round of kick ball. Needless to say, we required a 'release of liability' to be signed for use of our waterfront.

About The Owner

As former campers in the Hardy Arkansas Area, we feel so fortunate to have spent a number of years in this amazing place. Upon finding this beautiful home, we realized we had an opportunity to share our love of this area with others.

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

Why The Owner chose Arkansas

The tranquility of the river, the excitement of the rapids and the relaxing sounds of the water have made this cabin a great place for get-away weekends.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My BFF and I had an opportunity to get away during the week. This place was perfect! It even has riverfront access!! Easy to get to and owner was helpful in making sure we had everything we needed and helped with restaurant recommendations! We will be back !!!!

Perfect for a weekend getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We went up at last minute. The owners responded within a couple of hours of requesting this location. We got there and everything was really nice. I do recommend bringing extra plates as there is only 3. I would also bring something to do other than watch tv as it is really small. However the grill was Perfect! The river is only a short five minute drive from the cabin. The porch was amazing and even though it is close to the highway it is very quiet. I would also bring extra blankets. Coffee make was also broke. The place was very nice and it was cool even at peek hours of the day. When i come back this way I do hope this place is available again and reccomendkng it to friends and family.

Perfect for a weekend getaway!!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and two other couples enjoyed staying here! The queen bed was super comfy, the sleeper sofas not so much. But for two nights was totally fine! Only thing I would change is the shower, No water pressure at all. All in all it was clean, easy to get to, and plenty of room for us 6. We would def stay again and hopefully this same time next summer! :)

Nice weekend get away!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend away from it all! The house was perfect for the two of us. Even though it is just off the main highway, it was really quiet.

Spring in February !!!

Oh my gosh this was a perfect place for hubby and I to get away during this unexpected warm weather. Loved sitting on the back porch and bring able to see the river thru the trees. Owners have new furniture and it was very private for our getaway. We will definitely be back !!

Bugs.

We enjoyed our stay other than the fact that there were FLEAS!! I informed the owner so hopefully they get an exterminator out. Also, there's no cable in the house so bring movies if you want to watch TV. This place would be very small if you need to sleep 6, as advertised. It away fine for the two of us and our two children. Other than the bug bites and having to wash all of our clothes multiple times, the place was at least clean. We were also given the wrong code to get in, and had to wait outside with screaming kids for about an hour for the owner to answer the phone for the right code. Giving two stars for the fleas, lack of space, and for the owners lack of communication.

Labor Day Weekend

  • 1 of 5

I'll start with the positive aspects of this house. It was a reasonable size for a small family. It had been updated It is reasonably close to downtown Hardy and a short drive to Spring River. The air conditioners do keep the house cool. I will begin by saying that I am certainly not a clean freak or one of those moms that asks a million questions. But, I had a difficult time getting answers to my questions, (there were only three of them). The response time was very slow, or not answered at all. The kitchen was lacking some things that I thought would be there. I would have expected a can opener a few dish towels, and a broom. The living area needed to have the pull out sofa and love seat replaced, because after the first person sat on them, the cushions sank into the frame. There were dirt dobber nests on the curtains and on the bedroom wall. The sheets, comforter, mattress pad and pillow had not been washed from the previous guests. There was chocolate on the mattress pad and blood on one of the pillows. There were clean sheets that I found the second day in a plastic bag on the floor behind the roll out bed in the closet. But, there was no clean comforter or blankets for any of the beds. There wasn't a washing machine there for me to wash them in. We used our beach towels as blankets and sheets. The electricity kept going off. I guess we had too many things plugged in. So, I had to go outside and through a door that led under the house to flip the breaker back on. We finally figured out that the air conditioners and oven could not be on at the same time. I think I could have been more positive about the rental if it had been clean.
