Guestbook comments from the manager

Taken from Guest Feedback Sheet: Beautiful sunrise from the fantastic windowfront walk (deck). Located close to the quaint town of Southwest Harbor. Walking distance from many great shops, restaurants, the pier, etc. Very affordable price. Close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia, yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home in Southwest Harbor! We had a wonderful time and will be sure to contact you when we return to Maine in the future.

Great stay at Harbor Daze!

  • 4 of 5

My friends and I just returned from a wonderful week at Harbor Daze. The house was cozy and comfortable and the view was priceless. We enjoyed being on the "quietside" of the Island and will certainly stay here again. The location was great with easy access to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub was perfect after long days of hiking the park. Looking forward to another visit next year!

Great launch pad for Acadia, Bar Harbor, or just staying in and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Our big family vacations during off-peak times and Harbor Daze was the perfect place for it! The hot tub offset the cooler days, and the cozy, roomy house was a perfect launch pad for all our activities -- biking, hiking, eating out or just staying in and enjoying the view of the harbor. I can't say enough great things about the house, or the contact person, Jane, who will make you feel at home. Book this one, you won't regret it.

Terrific location, wonderful house

  • 5 of 5

We had a terrific one-week stay in this home. The location is ideal. If you want to avoid the crowded craziness of Bar Harbor in search of a more peaceful location, Southwest Harbor is perfect. From this house, you can watch the sun rise over the harbor and then walk to the little downtown area for free Popovers at the Common Good Café, which collects donations for the soup kitchen it supports. While we were there, SW Harbor held an art festival, and you also can walk up the main street for a homemade pie or some ice cream. About a 15-20 minute drive to the Acadia NP visitor’s center.

The house itself was lovely. We are a family of 6 (3 college/hs age daughters and a 10th grade son), so the girls shared a room with three beds on the 1st floor while our son got his own room on the 2nd floor (we took the master bedroom on the 2nd floor). Two full baths and a laundry. Excellent hot tub out back, which is serviced twice a week and very clean. Well-equipped kitchen (we made three pies while we were there). Overall, an excellent place to stay and we highly recommend it.

Pleasant stay in Southwest Harbor

  • 4 of 5

Jane was very easy to work with and VERY responsive. The house is exactly as pictured and described situated within walking distance of small shops and eateries and right across the marina. We were disappointed however to not be able to walk out onto the piers as they were all private, something we hadn't realized or even considered. Bass Harbor Lighthouse was only a few miles down the road which we visited on more than one occasion both in the morning and sunset. The drive to Acadia was about 20-25 minutes for us even though the house is right along the Island Explorer shuttle. Typically we drove to Visitor Center and then boarded the FREE shuttle there. The hot tub was a real hit with our family as we hiked everyday and tired muscles appreciated the hot tub while watching the evening stars. During our visit it was rather warm and since there is no air conditioning, the upstairs bedrooms were a little uncomfortable even with the fans provided. Understandably the weather does not justify air conditioning but it was warm (we were there the first week of August.) This house served our needs just fine and was well stocked and very clean, thank you Jane!!

A lovely spot!

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed in Southwest Harbor many times and love it. This house is beautifully kept up, amply supplied, and the responsiveness to questions or concerns is terrific. It's very close to town, which makes it easy to walk in for meals and fun. That also makes it rather noisy, as there's a lot of road traffic.
