Great vacation home

This was my and my family's first experience with HomeAway and it will definitely not be our last. The home was exactly as advertised. The convenience to Old Town is a real plus. You can walk over and shop or have a meal or just sit outside and have coffee. The museums are literally across the street. We also made good use of the grill on the patio.

Perfect location, very pleasant, and well-stocked

We spent 10 days at this property and it was perfect for our needs. Just a block from Old Town plaza and a wide variety of museums, it also is across the street from a very pleasant park. The house met our needs perfectly--right size, the right New Mexico ambiance to remind you of where you are. I particularly enjoyed the little back patio for morning reading and coffee. We have used other rental properties and this was, without doubt, the best stocked of any we used. When my son's sunglasses broke, we found Super Glue in the desk drawer--that is well-stocked! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Can't beat the location.

This is a great place to stay for exploring old town. We only put 35 miles on our rental car because you can walk to everything. The kitchen is well equipped, but there are so many restaurants close by we mostly ate out. Overall, a very comfortable house to stay in and cheaper and more convenient than most hotels in the area.

great location, large spaces with upstairs privacy, lots of porch and patio options

walking distance to museums, old town, parks, close to city and our family in town, lovely building with lots of bathrooms, open kitchen, dining room spaces, large tv, radiant floor heat, able to host and cook thanksgiving dinner and entertain our group, loved the balconies and patios, park off street, lovely decorations...would definitely come back here with all these comfortable options

A GREAT place to stay and REALLY close to Old Town

This is a VERY nice 2 bedroom casita. All appliances are top notch. Three 2nd story balconies, and lots of fenced, secluded, and private yard room are all GREAT pluses. The parking is good too. That is just a short pull-in driveway, probably long enough for most any car. Walk out the front door, and nearly 1 block away is the Backstreet Grill, rated #18 of 1,371 Restaurants in Albuquerque with the Certificate of Excellence from Tripadvisor. We LOVED the street tacos and the tamales too. Of course there is LOADS to do in and around Old Town. Then there is Duran Central Pharmacy, at 1815 Central Avenue NW, just a few blocks away from the casita. Duran's is great for all sorts of souvenirs and they have a GREAT grill too :-) We plan to stay in this casita again.

The well appointed, clean and efficient living space of Southwestern Casita includes absolutely everything needed to make for a comfortable and convenient stay. The private courtyard provides added security and a great place to relax.

It is steps away from multiple small shops, fine dining, art studios, etc. Within 3 blocks, there are three museums (Albuquerque Museum, Explora, and Natural History Museum), 2 parks, a church built in 1706, and possibly one of the finest photo galleries in the Southwest, (APG). Don't forget to stop at the olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting room. Yes, it is real, and worth the stop. Public Park, Post office, Hair Salons and great Restaurants (High Noon, Seasons, etc.) Minutes from downtown. Home of Int'l Balloon Fiesta, Casinos close by, Ruins, Jemez Mountains, Sandia Mountains, Hiking, Biking, 45 minutes from Santa Fe. Close to Rio Grande Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

Fun day trips include taking the tram to the top of Sandia Peak and hiking to Kiwanis cabin; taking the Turquoise Trail (Hwy 14) to Madrid, and Santa Fe; taking the Jamez Mountain Trail (Hwy 4) to Bandalier National Monument and the hot springs at Jemez Springs.
