My husband JIM and I purchased this beautiful cabin with thoughts of using it as our summer home when we retired. We finally retired but unfortunately my health prevents me from being able to stay there. MY LOSS is YOUR GAIN. So Jim enjoys spending time there when it is not rented and seeing his friends, goes fishing, golfing, but he does get lonely. This is why we are offering our little piece of heaven to you (less than 1000 sq. ft. . . It is comfortably furnished, not fancy, but very clean and furnished with everything including laundry detergent (not that you want to spend your time doing laundry) ENJOY-Live every day as it it were your last.

We arrived safe and sound . The photos on the web don't even do justice to how nice this is. We will definitely schedule another time to come up here.
My husband and I moved to Arizona but hadn't yet purchased a home, so we needed a place to stay with our two dogs that was furnished and close to Prescott while we looked for a home to buy. We stayed at this cute, completely furnished cabin for 2 months, and it was honestly a perfect place for us. The cabin itself is roomy, and has a good size living room with a TV and stereo, a dining room with a table for 6 or 8, a completely equipped kitchen, and very comfortable beds in the bedrooms. We only used the backyard Chiminea once during our stay, because we were there in the middle of winter with the snow and colder weather, but we really liked the woodsy yard.
The cabin is close enough to Prescott (just 5 miles from the square) yet actually in the Prescott National Forest. We would take our dogs for a walk, and within about 2 blocks, we could let them off leash in the forest as we walked along the trails. There were many different trails that we could access right from the cabin! We even met several neighbors who were also very nice! And, everyone who walked by the house while walking their pets always waved and greeted us!
The cabin’s owner, Chris, was absolutely wonderful! Whenever we had a question, I would call or email Chris, and she would respond immediately. We encountered only a few small problems during our stay, and Chris was eager to get them taken care of, usually that same day. This cabin is perfect for couples, a small family, or a small group of friends looking for a place to get away from it all yet be close enough to still enjoy the great restaurants and activities of Prescott!
we stayed with our 13 yr old daughter and her firend and had a great time! the owner was so nice in working with us with all our questions. Loved to BBq and horse shoe pit--girls ran around the creek below the road and we explored the trails up around Linger Land and took walks around the streets. Neighbors were nice and friendly. Went into town a couple of times. It rained one morning and it was so nice to sit on the porch and watch. Glad for covered parking since it hailed a bit. Steep driveway. We will ask to stay again this summer in 2015!
The Ponderosa is a beautiful 2 bedroom home tucked away in the Prescott National forest. It was like staying at an old friends home. It sits right down the road from Whiskey row, if you want to experience the local nightlife and good dinner. Or a great base camp to go exploring the beautiful park on a ATV. The home is within minutes of groceries, gas, and shopping. You can sit out and enjoy the beautiful property and the scenic view or travel back into town for shopping and meals. You can't go wrong with this rental. You are just far enough out to be secluded, but mere minutes from civilization.
We really love this cabin in the woods. This is our second stay here and it is just as nice now as before. I really like the kitchen it was very well stocked. The house was clean, well cared for and very comfortable. We went on many walks around the area and went into town a couple of times which is only about 10 min. away. There always seems to be something going on in Prescott. We liked sitting out on the front porch with a book and watching all of the birds. A great place relax.
The owners have really tried to think of everything you could need. A fully stocked kitchen, not just some weird odds & ends of utensils you usually get, everything you need except the food. Nice gas BBQ out back for grilling. And a horse shoe game for killing time while grilling. Satellite TV's with good selection of channels. Morning & evening walks through the neighborhood are great. The place is nicer than the pictures on the VRBO site, there has been nice flooring and furniture upgrades, and the propane tank in front was removed which really improves the street appeal. We will defenetly be staying there again.
This is my second time staying at this cabin and I have to say, it's a great place to hang out for a week. It's borders a National Forest. All you have to do is walk up the street to enter and there's great hiking, with wild life and birds everywhere. It must be a well kept secret because we hardly saw anyone there. The wild flowers are particularly abundant right now because of the monsoons. It was also thirty degrees cooler than Tucson, so that was a treat as well. The house itself is charming and clean with a full kitchen, and even has a washer and dryer. They do have internet, but it's slow. I love the location. It's feels secluded and private but it is also close to town and shopping. When it rained, we just stayed in and watched movies on a flat screen TV and read or played games. They have quite a few DVDs there to choose from. We will probably be back again next year. I love it.
In the middle of the woods, but close to town. Enjoy the pines and oaks and the afternoon shower if you're lucky. Sit on the deck and read a book, or hike the area. It is just a piece of heaven. The Town Square (6 mi.) has all kinds of activies on the weekends, or just browse the quaint little stores.
