The upstairs loft is very spacious with 2 futon sofas that convert to single beds. The kids would love this room complete with their own TV and some music equipment. Snorkel Equipment, boogie boards, cooler, and beach towels are provided. There are hair-dryers and stack washer/dryer for your use. Unique to Mauna Lani: 3 pristine private beaches. The best snorkeling in Hawaii. Mauna Lani is the Big Island's exclusive Resort renowned for it's upscale amenities, shopping and the Foodland farms market. Exciting Restaurants are walking distance- Ruth Chris steakhouse, Tommy Bahamas, Monestera Asian Pacific Cusine and The Blue Room which has a French influence. The Palm Villas at Mauna Lani is a small boutique and private Gated Community of only 44 units. You will love the Resort style waterfall lava pool and spa and the nearby Fitness Room with Aerobic and Weight Equipment. A Tennis facility and Fitness, Massage Center is located across the Street for a small drop in fee. Another fabulous unit and holiday in our favorite location!
We’ve stayed at the Palm Villas many times during the last 15 years. This unit, in the I building, was beautifully furnished including a fabulous array of kitchen gadgets. The location is quiet with a great view of the garden. We’ll return again, thank you!
Great condo with plenty of amenities
I stayed at this condo the last week of March with six total people (3 of them kids) and it was perfect. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook for a week (even an assortment of spices and herbs) and it came with some beach and snorkel gear that we took advantage of. There is a key card that comes with the condo to use the private parking lot at the beach, but we never used it because the fifteen minute walk through the lava park and fish ponds was so enjoyable. The only downside, and this is very minor in comparison to all the wonderful things I could say about this place, is it can be hard to find a parking spot within the complex if it's a busy week. We never had any problems before about 7 pm, but a couple nights we had to park in areas we really weren't supposed to. The groundskeeper was pretty understanding and gave me a warning for one spot I wasn't supposed to park, but he also gave me some tips on where I could find some parking outside the complex should the problem arise again. Overall, I was extremely happy with the condo and the grounds of the palm villas, and I look forward to returning someday!
A beautiful, comfortable, clean, and quiet stay in a great location
The location was perfect for beach activities and as a base to explore the island. The beach club access is great because it means we could park our car in a private lot right next to a small cove for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. This cove also has ample shade trees and chairs that beach-club-members can use. Various beach and snorkel gear was available to borrow from the condo's storage unit, including boogie boards we used at Hapuna Beach a few minutes up the highway from the Mauna Lani area. The condo itself was extremely clean and well appointed, and our boys appreciated the instruments/games/dvds available. No need to bring any separate entertainment for kids. The condo was walking distance to a resort-type shopping center that includes a small grocery store. This was an excellent vacation choice for our family.
Lovely garden setting
We stayed for a week with another couple and enjoyed the lovely garden setting with lots of birds. The best part was the 15 min walk through the lava park and the lagoon to a beautiful sheltered beach, where we snorkeled and took walks along the path on the shore in both directions. Great whale viewing in February. The condo is very well equipped if you like to cook. It has a lot of fans if you prefer not to use the air conditioner and the washer/dryer were easy to use. Everything was in tip top shape. There is a great hot tub in the complex and my husband enjoyed the small exercise room next to the pool. The only problem was difficulty finding parking inside the condo complex gates if you get back after around 7 pm. We only had this problem once because we tended to cook dinner at home. We enjoyed the north side of the island immensely after spending past vacations south of Kona.
Thank you for staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed the condo and our beautiful area. We are located on-site. The parking can be a problem at night mostly only during peak times but if you call us we will work something out so you won't have this problem.
Nice stay with a few glitches
Upon arrival the condo was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Well appointed and supplied with linens. We had some difficulty with the code on the main gate and were forced to call Cindy for assistance. She came quickly to help, but then informed us that the latch on the dishwasher had broken and it could not be used. This was a Saturday. The part had been ordered but would not arrive for a while and then the repair had to be scheduled. We are a family who cooks many of our own meals, so I was distressed at the thought of doing dishes for most of our vacation. To be fair, this was unforeseen and Cindy did offer and eventually provide compensation in the form of a gift certificate to Tommy Bahamas which we enjoyed. The repair was done near the end of our stay. Apparently all of the new Samsung appliances in the unit have had issues. The complex is very well maintained except for the community gas grill which only had one working burner. It was beautifully landscaped. The pool and spa were great., as was the access to the Beach Club. It is very quiet in the complex in the evening, which is a plus, but beware that because of the design of the Lanai normal conversation out there carries far and can easily disturb others. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but I am not sure I would return.
Nice, quiet unit, with a well-stocked kitchen
This unit is one of the nicest we have stayed in. New appliances, nicely decorated and a beautiful view of the palms etc, by the pool.
