About Sandy & Gordy Edington

Gordy and I moved to Rhinelander in 1992 when the Wisconsin Army National Guard moved us here for Gordy's job. We have since said many times that we should have moved here 20 years earlier. While Gordy has since retired from being a FT Army Training NCO he is still working every day at our custom embroidery business while I work FT as the Manager of a temporary agency. If you decide that Rhinelander is in your blood after visiting here...I can get you a job.

Sandy & Gordy Edington purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Sandy & Gordy Edington chose Northeast

We chose to buy the cottage next to our family home when the current owner decided to sell and have not regretted our decision for one moment because we can share the peace of this setting with lots of new friends.

What makes this cottage unique

On a daily basis we enjoy watching the squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, an occasional bear, eagles, loons and a variety of other wildlife.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay! My husband and I loved how quiet and relaxing it was. The owners have done a great job of making the place cozy and comfortable, not to mention all the little extras. Was nice to take the row and paddle boats out around the quiet lake, and also loved sitting around the fire pit. We enjoyed sitting on the dock as well! We were sad to have to leave, and we will definitely be making a trip back next year!

Great little cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice cabin. It's very clean, modern, and sits on a beautiful no-access lake. Very relaxing. We enjoyed using the row and paddle boats to go out and catch some pretty nice perch....2 were 11 1/2 inches! Tip: fish bite better in the morning! Rhinelander is only 6 miles away, so just a short trip to town if you need anything. Very close (1/2 hour) to Minocqua and all of the tourist trap type stuff, if that's what you like. We would very much recommend this cabin to anyone, and hope to make a return trip soon!

Rhinelander Lakefront cottage

  • 5 of 5

Nice home base to experience the Northwoods. Half hour from Minoqua and Eagle River. Simple yet adequately comfortable cottage on a quiet lake. Fire pit, row and paddle boats helped us enjoy Nose Lake. The kids enjoyed catching fish from the pier. Wifi and satelite TV a plus.

Hard To Come Home

  • 5 of 5

No surprise to our family that we'd enjoy Nose Lake. We had been there last year and put it on our Must-Do List for this summer. You can't go wrong with a quiet north woods lake that's big enough to swim, paddle, and fish in. But small enough to keep those pesky jet skis away. The cottage is charming and updated to keep us comfy in cool or warm weather. The boys loved relaxing to satellite TV before bed. And the fire pit got a workout too. Once again it was hard to leave and get back to reality.

Cozy Cabin on a Serene Lake

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying at this vacation rental for a couple of days and were delighted by the location, amenities, and hospitality. It's a true deal for the money! The lake and location are beautiful, it's so serene you feel like you need to whisper to keep from disturbing nature. The paddle boat and row boat are great as well, fun fishing on this lake! It's a smaller cabin with a small bathroom but the kitchen and living areas are well stocked with appliances and the deck and benches are where we spent most of our time. Close enough to Rhinelander if you need anything but far enough away to get out of the hustle of reality. Thumbs up to this stay, we hope to be back again!

Nice Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Very nice, cozy, and comfortable cabin. Just as described in the ad and photos. I used the cabin as a base while deer hunting in the area. The weather was nice enough so I was able to take the boat out and row around the lake. The owners are great hosts and neighbors.I am looking forward to going back again!
