We are a family of four with a young son and daughter. We live about 30 mins south of Carlsbad. We enjoy short stays there when the property is available.
The Owner purchased this bungalow in 2007
We purchased this home in Carlsbad Village as it is one of the most family friendly beach communities in all of San Diego. We have two small children and that was very important to us. We also like too stay in nice places so we remodeled the house completely to satisfy our taste. We hope you enjoy.
There are many things to do here but the nicest thing is to be able to park your car and wallk to everything. When we stay, we rarely use our car. Ours kids favorite eats are Knock Out Pizza and Cold Stone Ice Cream.
We adored our stay in Carlsbad! This beautiful bungalow is within walking distance to everything! You won't need to move your car once you get there! My husband and I and our 3 kids stayed for a full week! Having two bathrooms and the outdoor shower were awesome! We used the built in BBQ three times and it was awesome. We had a little trouble starting it the first night and got help from the mgmt. company. The bungalow is beautifully decorated. We were happy with the AC and that there was a Keurig! There were plenty of towels and a washer and dryer. We brought our own detergent and used the laundry as needed! The train station is close and we loved keeping the windows open at night. The noise from the train only bothered us the first night and then we got used to it. One loud train came through in the middle of the night, so if you are an extra light sleeper, just know this. We used the Coaster for a day trip to Petco Park and it was awesome! The garage had 4 beach chairs, and 2 mini toddler beach chairs, an umbrella, two coolers, a volleyball net, sand toys, and three small boogie boards. There were also some toys for the amazing pool! The pool water was a little cool but great for summer! There were hoses set up to rinse off after the beach and a beautiful green yard with comfy lounge chairs and chaises for us. The outdoor shower came in handy many times! The sofa sleepers were comfy to sleep on....comfier than sitting on them. Wifi and cable were great and we brought our Chromecast to stream movies and Netflix (it poured rain the first two days!) Wonderful restaurants nearby! The beach has the perfect waves and we were 10 min from Legoland! We had a wonderful week. My favorite feature of the house was the split doors so you could have the top open and let in the great weather, and even listen to the rain! I say bring your own pillow from home, but everything you need is there! Very nice owner and easy to work with property manager. You have to take all of your garbage and recycling to the management company when you leave but it is only a short block away. The beach was a farther walk than anticipated, but we managed to walk with all the chairs, umbrella, towels and ice chest!
Great home, there were 5 of us who fit comfortably. Our favorite was the private fenced in pool, we used it several times each day. Short walk to beach and village. Only downfall is it's near the train tracks but of 5 people in our group, that only bothered 1. We would love to stay there again.
We rented this bungalow for 8 nights in May of 2011. My son was returning from Afghanistan and we wanted to give him a more comfortable location to stay in then a hotel room. We couldn't have been happier with our decision to rent this home. We drove to Sea World and Belmont Park, walked to the beach and to the Farmers Market (and ate the best strawberries ever). We had some delicious sandwiches at the Grand Deli, did some window shopping in town and had some sweet and warm fresh donuts from Super Donuts. We BBQ many times at the house and I baked home made chocolate chip cookies (my sons favorite) in the very nicely stocked kitchen (I had to buy a cookie sheet, but no problem and I left it for furture renters) But by far the best place to be was in the back yard sipping coffee in the morning and smelling all the fresh flowers. The pool was so refreshing we all enjoyed our time in it. We highly reccommend this rental to anybody that will be staying in the San Diego area.
