About the property

Cottage, 3 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 1.5 Baths

Enjoy a stay at our beautiful lakefront cottage; it has the feel of a private cabin in the woods right in the middle of all that is available within the Sugar Springs Resort, including playgrounds, boat launches, tennis & basketball courts, an indoor pool, grass airstrip, as well as the championship golf course and clubhouse with restaurant. Visit the Sugar Springs website to see all that is available.

There is so much to do in any season of the year: fishing, swimming, boating, tubing or water skiing right out the door in the summer, hiking, biking and shopping in the spring and fall, and ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and sledding in the winter.

Lake Lancelot, an all sports lake, provides for many activities, but a 'no wake' time in the morning and evening allows for some quiet time to fish, canoe or simply enjoy the peaceful lake.

The cottage has a large master bedroom on the upper level with a king-size bed, half bath and TV. On the main level, a second bedroom has a queen size bed and a third bedroom has a single bed with a trundle bed that pulls out for another single. There is a partly finished bunk room in the lower level that has two bunk beds to sleep 4 additional. There is also a loft providing additional sleeping space, for two more adventurous guests, that is accessible by ladder.

It is a great place for family vacations, a girls get-a-way, or a guys golf or fishing outing!

Why Margie Bucklin chose Gladwin

Sugar Springs is a great location because it has the feel of 'Up North' while being just a two hour drive. The location allows for a Friday night drive up in time to catch the Friday Night Fish Fry at the Clubhouse restaurant.

What makes this cottage unique

My husband's family built the cottage when he was in high school. He loved being up there with friends, boating and water skiing and has been able to instill that love of the water and water sports in our kids as well. They are now the ones out on the water and bringing their friends.

Loved it again!

  • 5 of 5

This is our third time staying at this home. Each time has been wonderful. The grounds are spacious and perfect for hanging out, the house is cozy but large enough for 8 adults to stay and enjoy a mid Michigan fall weekend!

Must Stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I along with my parents spent this last week here. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had a large variety of pots and pans along with many utensils (all in great shape), the living room was comfortable and had a variety of choices on TV, the sunsets were beautiful, the deck had plenty of space to hang out and eat (two tables and many chairs), and there was a nice fire pit. In addition, there was a canoe (plenty wide enough making it pretty stable) and the fishing was great. Also there was a washer/dryer available. From top to bottom, the best VRBO place I have rented. Thank you Margie for a wonderful time.

This is our second stay here - the first was in the fall and it was WONDERFUL!! We loved it so much we wanted to come back to see the place in the summer. It was WONDERFUL again in the summer! The lake is clear and never too busy or noisy....the house is cozy but plenty of space to spread out. The deck is AMAZING. Can't wait to go back!

The cottage was very comfortable. We brought our speed boat and enjoyed tubing, wake boarding and skiing. We also brought our kayaks. The no wake hours we nice for kayaking. The sandy beach was perfect for our 3 yr old grand daughter.

We spent a week with our family at this cottage. We had a great time! The cottage was fully stocked. Our family enjoyed fishing, swimming, and relaxing. We would definitely rent this cottage again and hope to do so in the future. Thanks for renting out your cottage!

My wife and I, 3 kids and 2 grand babies had a relaxing week here fishing and swimming and relaxing.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was clean, had everything that we needed, with plenty of sleeping room. The lake was nice and clean, with a swimming area and a dock for my boat. The only thing that I would change would be that there is too many trees on the property. I was nervous about scratching my truck with 3 vehicles there. If we only had one or two, it wouldnt be an issue. The backyard by the lake has a small sandy beach area, but again too many trees that block the view of the lake from the huge deck (which we really enjoyed), and blocks most of the sun from getting to us. That could be good or bad, depending on the temperature. Overall, we all really enjoyed this property and cottage. I loved the rustic feel of the cottage, which even has new kitchen cabinets and granite countertops. I really like that, since that's what I do for a living!! We had an amazing week of relaxation, having everything we needed, including firewood for the fire pit, we never had to contact the owner for anything. Both my grandsons even caught their first fish off the end of the dock!!! Thank you for allowing us to make so many memories in your cottage. We are already missing the "lake life"!!!!

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your time! We do have a lot of trees, but we appreciate the shade and privacy from boats going by on the lake and in the front they provide some barrier from the neighboring lights. Thank you for your comments.
