Excellent Location! - Leave the car. You can walk or ride everywhere. The house is located on the Westside within 2-3 short blocks to the Deschutes River, Drake Park and several restaurants and bakeries. Walk or ride your bike downtown, shopping, etc. Simply type in the address to see for yourself: 1325 NW Federal Street.

Former Emil Wienecke house - National Historic Registry. Recent full vintage restoration with all new furnishings and modern necessities. This well built 1924 craftsman house is well ahead of its time.

Very luxurious with large rooms, ceilings, stairwells, etc. Lighting and hardware are all from Restoration Hardware. In-house speaker system with zones, AUX hook-up, 3 new HDTV's, etc. All furniture and furnishings are also either brand new or new. Very comfortable with warm colors as pictured.

Kitchen is granite with stainless steel appliances. New Bosch washer/dryers. Additionally, the basement is the perfect man cave or kids cave with walk-out access to the backyard.

Three large bedrooms - first floor (Queen), upstairs master (King), upstairs additional bedroom (Queen + 1 Twin bed). If needed, additional roll-away bed. All new mattresses. 3.5 Large Bathrooms (1.5 on 1st floor and 2 full bathrooms upstairs). Private backyard with BBQ and wood burning fireplace.

Great Bend Getaway!

We rented this house on a holiday weekend in January (2015) with another family. It's great and we highly recommend it! The owners are really gracious and quick to respond to any inquiries. It's located within a very short walk (1/4 mile or so) of the footbridge that puts you right in the heart of downtown Bend - so really convenient to downtown and all of the amenities there, and close to Mt. Bachelor. We didn't have great mountain conditions, so we spent part of one day downtown watching a movie with our family, lunch out, etc. We enjoyed dinners in at the house - the owners have equipped it with everything you would need for dinner in (or any other meal). The only thing that might have been better is if we could have lit a fire in their fireplace in the living room - they have it set up with multiple candles to give the effect of a fire. Hopefully one day they will replace it with a gas fireplace so all can enjoy the effect of a real fire! We loved it and we will be back!

Historical Gem in Perfect Location

This house was lovely - inside and out. All features of the home are wonderfully restored where you feel as if you have stepped back in time with all the modern conveniences. The house is a short walk to Mirror Pond and to downtown. I parked my car and kept it in the driveway for most of my stay which was sheer heaven for a person who spends 15 hours in her car commuting each week. The house was close enough to Newport Market where you could easily carry home two full bags of groceries.

It was located in a very quiet neighborhood. The house was warm and inviting and during the day there was beautiful light during different times of the day throughout the house. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, and pots and pans. We were able to prepare several meals there and easily have guests over for dinner.

The bedrooms are spaced out where there is enough privacy for all. Historical details throughout the house made it warm and inviting.

I'd give it ten stars if I could and I hope to return someday soon! Highly recommended as you can tell this house is well tended and loved by the owners who are very gracious. Thank you so much for sharing your home!

Awesome Family Reunion Spot!

We were very comfortable and felt so at home in your house! All the comforts of home including plenty of pots & pans and baking dishes, cookie sheets, soap, shampoo, washer & dryer, etc we just felt like we were in our own home! It was a perfect place to stay as far as proximity to great restaurants, coffee shop, bakery we walked there every day! The nearby Newport Market is a great find for all meal supplies! Plenty of space to spread out and great tables for card games at night! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Location is Outstanding

The house was great. We had 6 adults and a child in our party. There was more than adequate room for all of us without bumping into each other at every turn. There is a "man cave" (or perhaps person cave?) in the basement where football can be watch and beer drunk with minimal impact on the rest of the household. All of the bits and pieces worked fine. We had two cars and parking was more than adequate. I would imagine four cars could easily be accommodated in the long driveway albeit planning may be required to make sure the go to car is on the street end.

For us the five stars was earned due to the location. You are literally a stones throw form an excellent market on Newport Ave. There are several restaurants near the market. Walk the other direction and within 7 or 8 minutes you are downtown. It's fantastic in this regard as other reviewers have mentioned. Overall a very positive experience.
