Birthday surprise weekend

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was a great place to take my wife for a surprise birthday weekend. The cabin was clean and had everything that you would need. The hot tub was great and the covered gazebo was perfect to keep some of the light drizzle out. The pool table, darts and board games gave us some extra activities to enjoy as well. We took the kayaks out on the lake and had a blast! It literally is less than a mile from the cabin. An absolute awesome weekend. Communication was quick and detailed. Great time was had.

Keeps getting better

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time using Back to Nature and it was just as great as the first time! The house was clean a cool, which was much appreciated due to the crazy heat. Though we didn't use all the features of the cabin, it was nice to have the options. They had kayaks, hot tub, fire pit, billiards room, and more. It was so close to the lake, which is so hard to find something like this so close! My family stopped by and they were ready to go on another vaca using Back to Nature! I love it that they recommended grocery stores and restaurants, it made it easy! Thanks for your hospitality! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We loved the cabin layout, cleanliness as it was very clean and waiting for us.

More instructions for the hot tub and more efficient lighting in the master bath would be helpful. The air conditioning and bedroom size with the walkout porch the master were awesome.

Nice cabin, peaceful surroundings

  • 4 of 5

Nice clean cabin, roomy enough. Towels, sheets and blankets provided along with dishes, cookware and utensils and small appliances in the kitchen.

A little out of the way from swimming areas; 9 miles to the Fairfax beach and 11 miles to the Paynetown area. No lake view but nice wooded view.

It was quiet other than the occasional traffic/motorcycles going down the road. I couldn't hear people. (That's the point of a get-away, right?)

The wrap around deck had plenty of rockers, chairs and wicker seating including a patio table for 6 if you want to dine outdoors.

Hot tub was clean but all of the jets didn't work. I know the owner would have fixed it, but I didn't bother calling them as it was just fine the way it was and I didn't want to interrupt their holiday weekend.

Beds were comfortable. (Kings). The sleeper sofas were double sized so the cabin would easily sleep 8 people, two per bed. If you have a bad back, make the kids sleep on the sofa beds as those arent quite as comfy as the Kings.

Enjoyed the pool table, hot tub and fire pit. We rented a pontoon, so did get to enjoy the lake.

I will say, cabin was a bit hard to find as there is nothing at the angled gravel driveway giving the address and the cabin is hidden behind the trees, but GPS saved the day.

At one point we were all chasing a chameleon around the living room, caught it behind the couch. The two kids were fascinated. I suppose it slipped through the door when we were going out.

All in all it was a relaxing 3 days. The last morning we heard an Eagle overhead but couldn't see it for the trees. Being country people, we know what an Eagle sounds like and certainly would have loved seeing it! Saw a few squirrels and one deer on the way back from the marina.

There is a small convenience store a few miles from the cabin, a couple of restaurants and a bait shop.

I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a secluded retreat. I gave it a 4-star rather than 5 stars simply because it was difficult for me to find, the outer deck needed to be sprayed for spiders and the yard wasn't mowed. That was understandable however considering the cabin had been occupied most every day and there was no time for someone to come mow in between renters.

I think the owners do a fantastic job in keeping the place clean. Thank you for allowing us to spend the July 4th weekend in your cabin.
