Are you a couple looking for the perfect Crested Butte cabin? A family of three or two-to three friends looking for a Crested Butte get-away? Sopris Cabin has everything you will want in a Crested Butte vacation home--the perfect location plus unique character and charm. The location on Sopris Avenue is ideal--just one block to the town shuttle that takes you to Mt Crested Butte (for skiing in winter and hiking in summer), and one block off the core restaurant district of Elk Avenue--the main street in Crested Butte where you will find popular shops and restaurants. (Our location is ideally located in the core of the historic district, not on the east side of town--you simply cannot find a better location!)
Sopris Cabin is part of Crested Butte's history--the front rooms were an original mining cabin dating from the 1880's. It has undergone two renovations, the most recent of which added a sunroom, Colorado sandstone floors in the main living areas and, best of all, in-floor radiant heat.
BEDROOM: The bedroom on the main level has a comfortable, king-size, bed with a pillow-top mattress. The bed also has cotton linens, down pillows and a down comforter.
KITCHEN: The large, bright and sunny, centrally located, kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, Jenn-Air gas range, dishwasher, microwave and garbage disposal. We have added a coffee maker, coffee grinder, microwave oven, toaster, blender and crock pot. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and cookware--everything you'll need for preparing meals. Your mealtimes become more festive when served on our colorful Fiestaware dishes.
LIVING AREA: The open floor plan includes a living area that is open to the dining room and kitchen. It is tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture and includes a wood-burning stove and TV.
SUNROOM/Rear Entry: The most recent expansion of the home included the addition of a rear sunroom with bright windows and French doors that exit onto the backyard deck. A loveseat in this room opens up to a twin-bed to provide an additional sleeping area.
BATHROOMS: The cabin has a fully tiled bathroom with walk-in shower.
BACKYARD: The fenced back-yard is nicely landscaped and has mature cottonwood and aspen trees. Enjoy summer evenings on the deck that includes patio dining furniture and a gas grill. The fenced yard is ideal for pets. The rear of the property has two off-street parking spots that are accessed via an alley.
PET POLICY: We own a standard poodle and want to welcome guests with ONE well-behaved dog at our cabin. We welcome pet owners who are bringing their dog to Crested Butte to spend time with it. We do not allow pets to be left at the cabin for extended periods of time -- while you go ski for instance.
NOTE: Our cabin also has two upstairs bedrooms, but we rent the downstairs only. (There will be no one staying upstairs!) We sometimes escape to Crested Butte without our three children and believe our 'downstairs only' option makes the perfect getaway for couples!

Great little cabin in the heart of town!
This sweet little spot is close to everything and very well furnished. We especially loved the comfy king-sized bed and the nice big kitchen—and the heated floors keep everything super cozy! Leslie was so helpful and accommodating. We'll be back, for sure!
Best little place in CB
If you're looking for charm and character in the historic part of Crested Butte, this is it. (We're not into condos anyway) It's also not as small as we anticipated. It's only a block from Elk Av - the town's main street where we found most of the restaurants and a block to the ski bus stop. Comfortable furniture and bed after a long day skiing or snowshoeing. Oh, and we loved all the wall hooks for our coats, hats, clothes! Love this place ... would definitely try to get it again in the summer. It was perfect for our needs.
Great property within walking distance of everything!
We stayed here for three nights in October and absolutely loved it! Home was cozy and comfortable. The location was one block away from everything in town. There is even a fenced backyard for dog owners (our dogs loved it). Looking forward to returning to Crested Butte next year and staying here again!
Perfect location, cozy setting.
Highly recommended. Clean, cozy and prime location. The fenced in backyard was perfect for our dog and our morning coffee.
Amazing home and amazing location!
Exactly as advertised (see pictures). Very comfortable and nicely decorated. Only 1 block from main street (Elk). Hiking is outstanding.
short walk to free ski shuttle stop, Nordic Center, ice rink
