Why Nikki or Chris chose Truckee

We purchased this lot in 1997 after renting in Truckee, CA for 2 years we decided we needed our own place. We were young and crazy and decided to build our own place. The location is perfect for us. It is very close to town and Reno, but you feel miles away from everything.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This house is exactly as advertised, but the pictures do not do this house justice. The owners take very good care of their home and their guests. Everything you need is here...Except for the food & drinks, but I bet if I asked them they would take care of that as well. Having the hot tub is wonderful, we would sit in the hot tub with a nice cocktail while it was snowy...Amazing! The layout of this house is excellent, worked really well for us and our friends that stayed. We all had our own space. This was our best Christmas and New Years, Thank you.

Way better than a 5star hotel

  • 5 of 5

I came up with two friends to participate in the Iron Man completion. First off the location was perfect. In previous years we have always stayed in Tahoe Donner for the use of Trout Creek...which you have to pay to use each time. This place has its own hot tub, shower that is just like a steam room and no other people! Two private hot tub is perfect morning or night or both. Three the linens here are the best. I have never commented on linens before, but these are amazing. Four the layout of the house is fantastic. It was just us three guys, but we would have easily brought our wives. Five this house has everything you need plus some. No more Tahoe Donner rentals that aren't well maintained and no more evening thinking about staying in a hotel in Truckee. Us guys and our families will be back. Thank you.

Owner's Response: Jones I'm glad it worked out well for you guys! We would love to have you guys back as well as the rest of your families. You guys had awesome weather this year for Iron Man.The master shower sure does act just like a steam room...that mad me laugh, no one has ever referred to it as that but very close. The linens are my "special" secret...It's how I keep you all coming back. Glad you were able to experience Prosser Lakeview, we like it way better than TD also. Let us know when you're ready to come back. The cleaners mentioned what great shape you left the house in. They were super excited when they saw you guys had even started the laundry! Thanks again, The Wilson's

Doesn't get better

Nikki thank you for letting me I could post my own review. Others should know what a great place this is! These owners really take pride in the home / rental. This home has everything you could ask for even from sun screen, soap, coffee, tea and frosty mugs. Our two children thought is was Awesome that they had frosty mugs for their Root Beer Floats in the evening. The back yard was perfect for us. The was horse shoes and crocket, we played crocket until dark three nights. Great old fashion family fun. The back deck was great for BBQing, we had friends over for dinners a few nights. We were all so comfortable and just felt at home. The Wilson's made great restaurant suggestions. One they said they would steer clear of we should have listened, but lesson learned. Truckee is an amazing place, rich in history, many different activities and great people. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We will be in touch for this up coming winter. Our fingers are crossed for El Nino

Wow

Our family had the best Labor Day Weekend ever! We booked this place last minute on Thursday afternoon and arrived the next afternoon. This house is so centrally located it's perfect. Having the game room was awesome for us. We had parents vs. children pool and dart tournaments. My husband and I loved sitting in the hot tub first thing in the morning with the crisp cool air. The fishing was fantastic, hiking was amazing and road and mountain biking was world class. Having the BBQ on the upper deck made for great family evenings and wonderful sun sets! This house is well laid out. Everything they say on the website is understated, this house is much more. We have voted to come back for our family winter vacation as well. Thanks for having us

Owner's Response: Glad you guys had a great time despite Mother Nature's lack of real snow. Typically the ski resorts do an excellent job of helping out or making up for Mother Nature. We try very hard to provide a well maintained and fully stocked home with different things for everyone. Thank you for your kind words and treating our home with the use most respect.

Ski Vacation Already!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to the Donner Summit Ski / Board Resort (You know which one I am talking about) for making snow and opening! Thank you Nikki for letting us have a place to start our 2014 - 2015 Ski / Board season and the Awesome discount! We had a great weekend working out our cob webs on the slope. Of course the house was great and very clean like normal. We BBQed Saturday night on the deck which was a perfect ending to an early start on the slope. We'll be back again ;)

We stayed at this beautiful home for a summer vacation and it was amazing. We will be staying here for years to come, it is not your typical vacation home, it is a HOME filled with space and comfort for all... Next visit will be in the winter to enjoy the beautiful mountains, snow, the cozy fire place... Its a perfect home for all.
