'It's not just a transaction...for us it's our passion!'

AspenHaus Lodge is perfectly situated overlooking the Big Thompson River, with snow-cap views of the continental divide while backing up to Giant Track Mountain for the ultimate in end-of-road privacy. From our home it is just a short walk into the Rocky Mountain National Park, 1/2 mile to the YMCA of the Rockies, 2 miles to the Beaver Meadows entrance of RMNP and 3.5 miles to the town center of Estes Park. Or simply leave your car at our home and take the FREE Estes Park Summer shuttle from a stop located within 1/4 mile of AspenHaus Lodge!!

The main level great room has a spectacular floor-to-30 ft. ceiling river rock gas fireplace which is flanked by a surround sound audio visual system (with 2 flat screens); simply the ideal family gathering place with its adjoining fully equipped kitchen and dining room area.

From the great room you can step out to the fantastic wrap-around deck to enjoy excellent mountain views along with the sights and sounds of the Big Thompson River... or take it all in from the 6-person hot tub or while cooking dinner on the Weber gas grill!

The cozy master bedroom has a double-sided gas fireplace shared with a jetted tub en suite. Open the deck doors and let the sounds of the Big Thompson lull you to sleep or step out to take in the perfectly clear Colorado sky where you might want to reach out to grab a star!

The second level of AspenHaus has two bedrooms (a king-sized bed in each), 2 private bathrooms and an amazing open loft area with picture windows framing the river, pine forest and snow-cap views. No artwork needed on these walls!

A second family room is located in the lower level where you can walk-out to meet wild turkeys and spot other wild life coming up the driveway! Or maybe just sit back and relax on the flagstone patio while enjoy a good book and catching a mesmerizing bird's eye view of the Big Thompson River! The bunk room with a full bath is also located on this level.

A one car attached garage space (with a spare refrigerator) comes with this rental. We also have a main floor laundry room.

As our guest you will enjoy access to shared common fishing, picnic and playground areas along the Big Thompson river.

From the doorsteps of AspenHaus enjoy a short woodsy walk along the Big Thompson River and emerge to expansive views of Moraine Park. Visit the museum, catch the shuttle to other RMNP destinations or continue your hike on to Cub Lake where you will have extraordinary opportunities to view herds of elk along the way.

Need we go on... our family thinks that AspenHaus Lodge is perfect in every way... not just another vacation rental but our perfect mountain home!

Note- No weddings, rehearsal dinners, group events, etc.

Beyond Your Expectations

  • 5 of 5

We came up to Estes for a relaxing escape of snow shoeing and restoration. I've stayed in many places in Estes, but Sue and Mark go above and beyond your expectations. Sue made sure we had information about everything in a way that made us feel we were staying at a friend's home. The location, their home, the views, the amenities and open communication made for the perfect get away. I'd give 6 stars if I could!

New Year's Holiday

  • 5 of 5

I cannot speak highly enough about our recent stay at AspenHaus! We just returned home last night after our five night stay at Mark and Sue's and what a great stay it was. Prior to our stay, Mark and Sue were so helpful in providing directions and information associated with the house as well as must-do's while we were in the area. There were restaurant recommendations as well as destination tips. Any questions that we had were promptly answered. My husband and I have four young children (ranging in age from 3-10) and the accommodations were perfect. In addition to us, my parents and two siblings along with their significant others were there and we had plenty of room - 12 people! The rooms are spacious, but cozy with a huge hearty fireplace in the great room that is open to the kitchen and dining area. There is a smaller table that we constantly had a puzzle on (don't worry if you forget one - Mark and Sue have some as well as other great games on hand)! The hot tub, just steps outside, was a nightly event for a large part of the group. There are big picture windows, perfect for viewing the amazing scenery and glimpses of wildlife that you're bound to see at some point in your stay. We went on a hike at Rocky Mountain National Park, right outside the property, and also took a day to walk through the charming downtown. The Stanley Hotel, a must-see for fans of Stephen King's/Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining," is a short five minute drive away. Even if you're not in for the intrigue surrounding the book/movie, the historical hotel is a definite sight to see!

The kitchen has stainless steel, top-notch appliances, and there is a laundry room right off of the master bath/kitchen that is super-convenient. The leather couches and cabin decor is just what you're wanting for a winter retreat.

You really do feel like you're staying in someone's home - and you are! There are personal effects throughout. We have stayed at other VRBO's before, and this one stands apart from the rest with how truly hospitable the owners are. It was also very clean - a must for this mama!

We will definitely be returning to this little piece of heaven, amidst the Rockies!

Great Family Gathering Place

  • 5 of 5

Sue and Mark provide an extremely comfortable atmosphere. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Aspen Haus. We had plenty to do and we did it. The hot tub was a huge hit in the evenings with the family. Before we arrived Sue had sent us plenty of information of things that were available to us, hiking, places to eat, and places nearby to see. The home itself was amazing. We have stayed at many rentals and I would definitely not classify this as a rental, we felt like we were guests in a friends home. The rooms were immaculate, and all of the supplies we needed from toiletries to kitchen supplies were there. We brought our own food and what we needed there was a grocery store nearby. We have a wide range of ages and personalities, we all agree, it was absolutely fantastic. There are games and books, binoculars everything to help achieve the actual family bonding experience. We are looking forward to coming back sooner rather than later. Thanks so much again!

Great place for family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the nicest houses we have stayed at throughout the years. Sue and Mark made sure we had everything we needed prior to our arrival. Before even arriving they sent us lots of information on what to do and where to go. They made everything very easy and enjoyable. Once in the house it was beautiful and had lots of room and amenities!! They had the Christmas tree up and ready for us to celebrate Christmas with. Everything was fantastic and we would recommend this house to everyone. Hope we can come back soon.

Amazing stay at AspenHaus!

  • 5 of 5

We got together with a few other families with fall kids for a little getaway into the Rockies and could NOT have ended up at a better place! Tons of common rooms, inspiringly high ceilings, a great big open kitchen for lots of meal prep. We also loved the hot tub on the patio with the sound of the babbling stream down below. Bonus was the really short drive into Rocky Mountain National Park & all the great hikes right off that entrance. We would go back in a heartbeat!

AspenHaus - Extraordinary Vacation Experience!

  • 5 of 5

Sue and Mark provide a dream vacation experience. AspenHaus is a top-notch home that provides memorable experiences for all ages. The trip experience begins with Sue and Mark sharing valuable information about Estes Park. This helps with planning so a moment is not lost when you arrive - your tip can be planned for all parties. We appreciated the personal contacts made by Sue when we arrived at AspenHaus to ensure that we were enjoying a positive experience. We had a question while at AspenHaus and had a reply in a minute. Their focus on detail is incredible. The home and location surpassed our expectations. Nothing can beat watching elk as you enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck.

We can't wait to return!!
