Exquisite classic wooden floored apartment. Nearby the Sacré-Coeur and shopping areas.

This exquisite 37m² apartment is perfectly adapted for 2 persons. It is on the 5th floor (US standard) of a charming and quiet French style stone and brick building with an elevator.

Located in the quiet part of the Montmartre district, the apartment is next to many shops. The famous Sacré-Coeur church is a short walk being 450 meters away.

One enters the apartment through a short tiled corridor, on the right is the living-dining room, opening on the master bedroom. On the left is the bathroom facing the toilets, and the kitchen is at the end of the corridor. Apartment windows open on a quiet private courtyard.

The nicely decorated living room is wooden floored and furnished with delicate ancient style wooden furniture: Wooden table, sofa, armchairs and library give it a warm and cosy feeling. It offers a dining area with a round table which can easily seat up to 4 persons.

The master bedroom is also wooden floored and furnished with wooden furniture. It offers a comfortable double bed, a large closet, mirror and a large wardrobe.

The apartment has a separate white tiled kitchen with is nicely designed and equipped.

Bathroom is also tiled with white ceramics and offers a sink, mirror and a bath tub with shower. Toilets are separated (inside the apartment).

Transportation is the easiest with 2 subway stations 2 minutes’ walk away from the apartment.

This location is a perfect base to visit Paris. It stays 15 minute by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.

Neighborhood :

- Montmartre is a village within Paris: it combines the atmosphere of an ancient village with trendy shops and fabulous restaurants. Many artists and movie stars live in the district. It is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.

- Close to the “Jules Joffrin” metro station is the famous Rue du Poteau Market as well as quaint antique shops.

- As you walk through Montmartre you will pass many winding and picturesque streets with fascinating houses, stairs and wonderful views over Paris. Look for the Montmartre Vineyard, walk to 'Place du Tertre' where artists will offer to draw your portrait and see Picasso’s house and the Salvador Dali museum. Visit the famous Sacre Coeur Moorish-looking church.

- On the other side of the hill on 'Rue des Abbesses' you will discover shops, cafes and clothing stores and in 'Rue Lepic' you will come across the market, wine shops

- The cheese shop was rated n° 3 in France – bakeries and charcuteries. It’ll take a few days to select your preferred “café” !!! Walk down to the Moulin Rouge and experience the Paris nightlife.

- The Champs-Elysees is only a ten-minute Metro ride; the Eiffel Tower, Le Marais, Les Halles, and Saint-Germain are all between 15- 20 minutes from Lamarck-Caulaincourt.

We selected this property because of its great location in the quite part of the Montmartre Neighborhood close to Sacre-Coeur Basilica, Montmartre Cemetery, Abbesses, Rue du Poteau, Lapin agile and the charm of the apartment.

It is the main residence of the owner. He rents when going to his secondary residence. For a guest, renting a main residence is a warranty of high quality : it is always maintained at top level. Obvioulsy, the owner puts away personal belonging. There is more than enough space available for guests.

Comfortable one-bedroom apartment in Montmartre

Large (for Paris) 1-bedroom apartment, clean, comfortable in good central location in Montmartre but with some noise issues. There is no soundproofing between floors so I would hear the person upstairs walking back and forth non-stop, sometimes it seemed for 2+ hours, even at late hours. It was loud.

Also, some of the furnishings, especially the lamps on the nightstand and the decorative sculpture propped up against the television were precarious enough so that it would be easy to knock them over. Very comfortable sofa. Good lighting, especially in the living room. No view, as the apartment does faces an inner "well," which actually makes for a greater sense of privacy, although I still often heard loud noise coming from the stairwell and doors slamming.

The kitchen was very nice, although it took getting used to having gas burners as well as learning how to get warm water. Although there is an 8-page booklet of instructions, I never was able to turn on the radiators. Washer but no dryer.

The bathtub has high walls so you have to be careful when you take a shower. Lastly, the telephone messages I left for the management were never returned, so I really felt I was on my own during my 9-night stay here.

Owner's Response: Hi Denny, Thanks you for your review. This is a nice apt, the owner main residence that she uses some month per year. Thus it is very well maintained.. Guests coming to Paris have to know that old building were built before the soundproof constructions started. Therefore it can be a little surprising. This is why we systematically send information about noise with each rental. We have actually very few guests bringing up the issue. I am very surprised by the fact you left messages not answered. When you stayed in the other apt the week before, we got a few phone calls from you. Once you switched to this apt, we had no calls or messages. We do answer all calls or messages. We doubled check in the call history and could not find the apt phone number. We checked the phone is working. I do not see any other explanation than a wrong number you way have noted. We never had such an issue before. Anyway, we are very sorry for this. I hope we you will stay in one of our apts again. Sincerely Jean-Noel

Very Nice

Great location. Walking distance to Metro and bus stops, lots of Cafes, bars, backaries, and eateries. Walking distance to Bascillica. Apartment very clean and cozy. Word of caution to those not use to walking....the Apartment is at top of fairly steep hill. Great walking exercise from Metro if you enjoy walking up steep hills.

I will stay there again!

This is a great apartment in a beautiful neighborhood in Paris. It's very clean and perfect in terms of location: close to the metro station and just a short ride into the city center. We enjoyed our stay very much and I highly recommend it. I will stay there again when I return to Paris.

Comfortable and convenient

My husband and I spent a week at the apartment and found it had all the things we hope for in an urban holiday rental. It is well located -handy to shops, restaurants and public transport. It is very clean throughout with a comfortable living area. It has a kitchen that is easy to cook in with sufficient cook-ware, crockery and cutlery. It has a comfortable bed, sufficient hot water, a washing machine and good lighting. Our stay got off to a rocky start as two door codes, vital for entry had been changed without the landlord's knowledge, however I am sure they will ensure this does not happen again. The person in the apartment above had a rather noisy birthday party one night (complete with a loud rendition of Happy Birthday). However as birthdays only come once a year, this should affect very few renters! We would happily stay here again.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at Cenis. The kitchen was so convenient. It was also nice to have a separate bedroom. The building is quiet. The neighborhood is busy and exciting and you have the option of two metro stops. Note: Rue du Mont Cenis is on a hill. Also, we felt very safe. All and all, we would certainly go back!

Way Better Than a Hotel!!!

The apartment turned out to be absolutely perfect for our stay in Paris! We were looking for something a bit different for our 20th wedding anniversary (rather than a typical hotel room) and, it was exactly the right choice. The apartment was clean and bright and offered us a great retreat after a day of exploring the beautiful city and local neighborhood. With lots of local markets and shops having a full kitchen was also nice to have as an alternative to eating out!

To be honest I was a bit sceptical sending money overseas but the booking process went very smoothly without any issues. Check-in / Check-out was also a concern but with the clear instructions it too was smooth.

For anyone looking to get away to Paris I would highly recommend this alternative!!! It was way better than staying in a hotel.
