About Roberto

The manager was born in north of Italy; he has been living in Rome for 40 years by now. In Rome he took his PhD several years ago... He knows the city, its story, its environment and culture by hearth. he speaks italian, english and french and understands spanish and portuguese.

Roberto purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Roberto chose Centro Storico

The apartment is full of light, overlooking a splendid renaissance palace (Palazzo Farnese) and it is sited in a small and quiet piazza where cars are not allowed, aside of the nice church of Santa Maria della Quercia. Every nice place to see in the historical Roma is at walking distance; the flokloristic, ancient Trastevere site of the city is just across the Tevere river.

What makes this apartment unique

It is beautiful looking out the window the ancient Palazzo Spada while talking with good friends or relatives deciding where going to dinner: at home, where it is possible to cook by ourselves roman specialities, or out where, in 2 minutes, you reach excellent, and often cheap outdoor or indoor restaurants?

We want to come again; it is a wonderful spot, very tranquil, butvso close to everything. We had a special time, and after a long day out we were happy to return to this beautiful home.

Romantic and comfortable stay

  • 5 of 5

I reserved this apartment upon suggestion of a friend of mine who was previously there (a year ago) and was very satisfied for what he said to be a splendid location, near Campo de'Fiori, Piazza Farnese, Piazza Navona, 5 minutes walk to Trastevere and 15 minutes walk to S. Peter's church.

It was a last minute reservation and I was provided of a good price by the kind owner.

To be sincere, I was suspicious about all these beauties so nearby that that friend of mine referred to me but, after my 4 days stay with my wife and our 2 kids, I must say that the apartment is even better located that I thought...

Apart from the excellent location, the apartment is romantic, with wooden ceilings and even a fresco in one of the bedrooms.

the furniture is simple but the house is comfortable and pleasant to live.

A very important note for me: from the apartment there is a splendid view of Palazzo Spada and the house is literally "flooded" with light. The master and the key holder were kind and present, we could have an early check in upon request without any extra charge.

I strongly suggest the stay.

C. B., (Oregon, USA).

4 weeks on Piazza Quercia

  • 3 of 5

The apartment has a view on the nice piazza, it is a pity the OAK, was removed, but will be replanted some time. We enjoyed the ap. which is spacy and shows good taste. There is even a restaurant below in the building. Shortly before our arrival, the ap. was repainted and so the central heating did not work at all. The owner was so kind to bring an electric heater. After a few days and repair, the heating in the main bathroom, did not work and others leaked.

The owner is in the proces of selling the ap. so we had to allow 5 short visits of

an agent with a key of 'our' apartment, with prospects.

Of course we made the best of it and had a good time.

Owner's Response: Hello. I am a bit unpleased of your comment. During your stay everything seemed work fine and you seemed appreciating your stay. On another hand you should have cited, for correctness, that we managed to help you with luggages up and down with non - standard level of check in. Regarding the apartment visit, as you know we agreed with you those visits. Best regards and hope to have you as guests again.

Great, with one *significant* exception

  • 3 of 5

First off, you’d be hard pressed to find a better location in Rome. Steps from Campo dei Fiore and Piazza Navona - an easy 15 to the Pantheon, Fountain of Trevi etc. The apartment itself was enormous with large bedrooms and two bathrooms which is rare. However, one of the bathrooms had a major plumbing issue that resulted in the most horrible raw sewage odor that seems to have been masked upon our check-in (with air fresheners and all of the windows wide open in 58 degree weather.) When we closed the window in the master bedroom and the master bedroom door it became clear where the sewage stench was coming from - the master bathroom. The odor was so offensive we were forced to close off the bathroom entirely, towel the bottom of the bathroom door and couldn’t use it at all which was very inconvenient. The smell was so significant we could even smell it in the master bedroom despite not opening the bathroom back up for our three-day stay. We promptly emailed Roberto and he didn’t respond at all for more than a day - and told us to contact someone else (um, why didn’t you contact the plumber Roberto?!) we were only there three days. Unacceptable. My advice to the managers of this apartment -reply to a renter’s legitimate complaint in a timely manner and for god sakes, if there is such a disgusting plumbing issue, fix it. The kitchen utensils etc were pretty dingy and the TV had freyed cables. We aren’t a TV family so we didn’t care but future renters might. Advice to future renters - make sure to ask re the repair of the master bathroom, and take extra care to wash anything on the kitchen or better yet, use plastic and make sure the TV cables are repaired if you do like to watch TV.

Owner's Response: Hello Candace, sorry for the bathroom problem, which was not at all considered by guests who stayed just before you, so it was not probably that big issue you refer to. As rule of the house we have that the issues regarding the stay must be claimed to the key holder, not the owner (me, in this case): this is a normal practice, this is essential part of the key holder work. I thought you knew this. In any case the problem you mentioned has been fixed. Regards Roberto

Un très bel apartment dans un fantastique endroit.

  • 5 of 5

Vacances fantastiques.

Perfect for a Family of Five!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is great for families with kids. We were in Rome for a week with our three sons (10, 12 and 15) and we had way more room than we needed. The apartment entrance is around the corner from a little square, Quercia, and just steps away from Piazza Farnese and Campo de’ Fiori. It is ideally situated for families who want a central location without being around a bunch of other tourists. We easily walked to all the major sites. Rome really isn’t that big, and if you are comfortable walking a mile or two, you can get just about anyplace. While we didn’t get there ourselves, it is also conveniently near Trastevere, a neighborhood across the river that is supposed to have great restaurants.

The apartment itself is three flights up. There is no elevator, but if stairs don’t bother you, this apartment is worth the climb. Once in the apartment, you can open a the window in the main room, look down on the square, glass of wine in hand, to watch the people walking by and marvel at the nimble way the tiny cars navigate through the streets. The apartment is furnished in comfortable utilitarianism. Everything was clean and well cared for. The floors throughout the apartment are terra-cotta and there are lovely open wooden beams in the high living room ceiling. The best room is the bedroom that sleeps 4. Our boys all shared this room. It has a fabulous painted ceiling and plenty of room for three to spread out - the younger boys slept in the single beds and the older took the double bed. Solid wooden shutters allowed them to block out the light, so they could get good sleep. The room faces a quiet little alleyway and they didn’t have any problems with street noise. Next to the this large bedroom, is a smaller bedroom that contains a trundle bed. We never even used this room, we had so much space! My husband and I shared a bedroom on the other side of the living area, which had a comfortable double bed and an en suite bathroom.

The ‘master bedroom’ does face the square, and because the square is paved in cobbles, is small, and surrounded by buildings, the sound echos quite loudly in the square. Other reviewers mentioned noise on Friday night, which we also experienced. We found a simple pair of comfortable foam earplugs blocked out the noise and we were able to sleep very soundly, even on Friday night.

The bathrooms are not fancy, but are good-sized and worked fine. The master bath has a tub-shower and the hall bath has an enclosed shower. There is an o
