One of our favorites!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented many, many cabins over the years and this was one of our favorites ever! We loved everything about it! The creek behind the property is amazing and we fell asleep and woke up to the noise of the water each day, it was amazing. We had fun with the property, playing games outside and card games inside and watching movies, fishing, roasting marshmallows, endless trips into the hot tub. The lake was a complete dream, we spent hours fishing and swimming and the kids playing at the playground. We saw lots of deer! We didnt have internet but it was for the best because we all got to really enjoy eachother and I read a book that I'd been wanting to read at home for months! The cabin was clean, cozy, really nice, so many great creations throughout... and the bed we slept in was a dream. We slept SO well! The host was wonderful and the cheesecake he brought us was such a delicious treat! Beautiful cabin, perfect property, and an incredible escape from "normal life".

Perfect retreat, convenient to Rainier National Park!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Stargazer Retreat! It was perfectly located close to the entrance of the national park. Additionally, Paul is an incredibly welcoming host, he went above and beyond in terms of helping us plan our time in the area from hiking to food options to what we needed to pack. Furthermore, the cabin is chock-full of extras (like dispensers in the showers, tons of DVDs, wood for the fire pit) to make time there stress free and incredibly easy to plan.

We loved the space with all the custom furniture, the hot tub was amazing for post-hike sore muscles and the setting with the stream right outside was incredibly peaceful. We got to enjoy deer in the neighborhood each morning! Although, we usually camp when we travel, it was nice to be able to feel like we had the fun of camping with the fire pit with the amenities of staying in someone's well cared for space. Additionally since we were traveling with parents who are excited about experiencing nature but less so from a tent, this was a perfect compromise.

We would recommend this space to everyone! Anyone looking to explore Rainier National Park would love this well maintained, well thought out space and could benefit from Paul's care in hosting and his expertise about the area to optimize your time in the area.

Cozy Cain and great location

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is very homey, decorated with custom made woodwork and furniture from the wooden bench in the entrance all the way to the deck area. The owner has put a lot of attention building it. The cabin has 2 decent size rooms with 2 bathrooms and a queen size futon downstairs. There is no TV but tons of movie selections. We didn’t’ get to use the hot tub but it is very clean and overlooking the huge yard and the creek. You can hear a small creek water running in the backyard. The lot is pretty big with a picnic table at the back. There is a gas grill as well which is very handy. The kitchen is fully equipped but if you don’t want to cook. There are several restaurants in town.

The cabin is gated as well so additional security. The cabin is conveniently located and a quick drive to the Longmire entrance.

Paul was very attentive and offered us some great travel tips before our trip and it was extremely helpful. Paul also came and showed us the house, really appreciate his hospitality.

I would definitely come back and stay again and would highly recommend anyone staying here.. There is no grocery store in town but you can get your grocery in Packwood.

Girls Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Three of us ladies rented this wonderful cabin for two nights while we went hiking and exploring in the Mt. Rainier (Paradise) side of the mountain. We were so comfortable and happy with everything--from the electric fireplace, cozy living room, well stocked kitchen; and bbq grill outside. The beds were great! Bathrooms clean and complete with toiletries and personal puffs, just as the owner has described. There was so much to do here we truly found ourselves wishing we had booked at least another day. Went to the little lake right down the street. Quiet, gated and safe location, and the most tranquil sounding little creek in the back yard. We had a fire outside one night and enjoyed looking at the stars. And it was pure Heaven to melt into that hot tub at night to ease the sore muscles from hiking. Thank you Paul. It was a pleasure to meet you and we really did enjoy and appreciate all the wonderful features that have gone into this cabin, especially all your own art work and wood creations. It was a wonderful stay, and we will be back!
