Pine Forest Retreat
The Pine Forest Retreat is centrally located in the heart of beautiful Bend, Oregon. One block from the Pilot Butte hiking trail, 3 miles from the Old Mill District and downtown Bend, this home is 25 minutes from Mt. Bachelor and the high lakes. Vacationers can find many activities in Bend including hiking, biking, skiing, rafting, kayaking, fly fishing and shopping. Downtown Bend and the Old Mill District have a variety of antique stores, restaurants, and retail shopping. There is nothing more enjoyable than a stroll around the Mirror Pond at any time of the day! Visit historic Pine Tavern for lunch or dinner and enjoy the outdoor patio dining in the summer.
The home is beautifully but practically decorated in a cabin-like décor. This non-smoking home is designed to handle large families or groups of friends and is kid-friendly. It is located on ½ acre where local deer and squirrels are common sights. The large, fenced, private backyard features a patio and gas barbecue. Dine out on the patio and enjoy the quiet of the Larkspur neighborhood.
The master bedroom has a king bed, armoire with a flat screen TV; the hunting bedroom features a queen bed; the bear bedroom has a queen bed, with a crib for families with an infant or toddler. The pine tree bedroom features two trundle beds to accommodate four people--we recently added a TV and DVD for kids to have a separate area adjacent to the dining room. The living room has comfortable seating for all, a 42” flat screen TV, and a gas fireplace surrounded by local lava rock. The dining table can seat up to 10 people. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge for vacationers who need Internet access. Each bathroom has a blow dryer.

About Donna Bergmen
Clark and I enjoy sharing our home with visitors to Bend. We strive to keep it comfortable and affordable!
Donna Bergmen purchased this House in 2010
Why Donna Bergmen chose Larkspur
This home is 3/4 a mile from the home we owned from 1979-83 when we had to leave our beloved Bend for California's Central Valley. Now we can share the beauty of Bend with others. Our Larkspur neighborhood is very quiet and deer are regular sites in our front yard.
What makes this House unique
We enjoy getting coffee at the Looney Bean downtown and walking around the Mirror Pond and Downtown Bend neighborhoods. In addition, the skiing at Mt Bachelor is great! My husband is an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman and Bend has all of that to offer.

Wonderfully quiet and comfortable
This house everything you need for a quiet weekend away!
A very functional, comfortable house.
We definitely enjoyed our stay and it worked well for our group.
There are a few quirks worth mentioning. The walls and doors are pretty thin so all noises carry through the whole house. You have to go through the "kids" room to come and go through the garage. Finally, the backyard was well fenced an amazing space for our young dog, but the neighbors have two dogs that bark through the solid wood fence at any new dog in this house's yard. It was somewhat annoying for us, and definitely annoying for the neighbors who apparently go through this every time a new dog shows up. It settled down some as the days passed, but didn't complete stop during the three days we stayed.
All said though, this house does what it is supposed to and is very functional and comfortable. The living room has ample seating, and the kitchen is pretty well outfitted.

Thanks for submitting a review. The house was built in 1979 however, you are the first guest in 8 years to suggest the walls and doors are thin. We have not noticed that. We often stay with our adult children, their adult friends and grandkids and have not been affected by a noise factor.
The “kids room” serves as a room for adults and kids alike. In eight years, no one seems to mind that is the room you enter when you check in. We don’t provide a front door key for security reasons so primarily people come and go thru that room but they do have a choice to use the front door as it locks as you exit and the code is used as you enter at the garage.
Bend is a “dog town.” Consequently most people have dogs. Our own dogs have engaged with the dogs next door, they bark and then they retreat. Both we, and our neighbors call to our respective dogs and they cease. We have a choice as to whether or not to be a “dog friendly” vacation rental. Since we love dogs, we allow people to bring their pet. Managing your pet once you arrive is part of your responsibility in being a good guest.
We are glad the house met your needs in terms of comfort. We try to make it as functional and comfortable for ourselves and our guests.
Thanks again for the review.

Very cozy get-away
We had an incredible stay in Bend Oregon. This cozy house was very close to downtown and provided a great space for our family. I highly recommend this house for young children. There was a closet of toys, a high chair and a crib. Any parent would agree that these are wonderful amenities and simply essential for travel. I’m hoping to enjoy the house again during the summer months, the outdoor space looked great as well. The house was very clean and tidy and made us feel at home. Thanks to Donna and Clark for offering such a sweet space for our family.
Thanks Sierra for reviewing Pine Forest Retreat. We are always so happy when guests enjoy our home and feel as if it is their own. We've tried to think of everything a guest would like to find in a vacation rental. We hope you do come back to visit Bend and the Pine Forest Retreat!
