Guestbook comments from the owner

Our wonderful visit to San Francisco was only enhanced by our stay at Casita Mallorca. Kathy and Rick have created a beautiful apartment-to-call-home while you are travelling. Quality linens in the bedroom and the bath gave an indication of the attention to detail that was obvious throughout the apartment. Heaters made the terrace delightful despite the cool weather; as did the fireplace for the chilly mornings. The flat was exceptionally clean and well organized. The neighbourhood was fabulous! Great restaurants, shopping, accessibility to Napa for day trips and also to public transit for the many other interesting areas of San Francisco. Kathy was so very helpful and always available for our questions. San Francisco was the outstanding beginning to our trip through California. We didn’t have enough time to enjoy the city to its fullest so we definitely will return to Casita Mallorca for a longer stay.

Cant beat this place!!!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented 3 of Kathy and Rick's "homes away from home" They are the most gracious hosts. We feel like they are friends! They are so helpful with any need you may have. Booking with them is so easy!

This unit is super special because of the private courtyard garden space. It is amazing to sit in with 2 standing heaters and a fire pit table. We were there in Feb so we needed the heaters. We had meals in the courtyard a few times. They even have 2 lounge chairs that are great for sitting out and reading. There is a privacy fence all around. The covered porch makes it easy to sit out even in the rain.

The bathroom is amazing with all the storage space for all your traveling items. There was a space for everything so there was no clutter sitting around the bath area. You are furnished great quality towels and sheets.

The kitchen is wonderfully stocked with all you would need. We didn't do any cooking but there were lots of utensils for the job.

We love this location whenever we come to visit our son. The Marina area has some of the most flat walking you can find in SF! Tons of great restaurants on Chestnut and Union. A short walk to the water and the Golden Gate Bridge. We love to go the dog area of the beach and watch the dog walkers!

I want to mention that if you are looking for a larger space, Kathy and Rick have 2 wonderful 2 bedroom units right above this one. They are both AMAZING too.

Thank you Kathy and Rick.. we will see you next time we come to SF!

Awesome experience

  • 5 of 5

This is a great apartment. My wife and I spent a month there, and it was really fun, as expected. We used to leave in SF, and went back for vacation, so we know the city a little. That is why we chose this location, the apartment is in the heart of the Marina, one block away from all the fun of Chestnut and a few blocks away from the Marine Green. Also, really close to transportation and great restaurant. To close it all with the A+ review, the way the owners received us and felt with the whole transaction for the rental was just Amazing. Thanks Kathy and Richard

You will LOVE this place!

We spent 10 days in this lovely "Casita". I can echo a previous reviewer's comments of it being in a perfect location, super clean and tastefully & comfortably decorated (the bed & linens are wonderful!). We appreciated that it is located in a quiet & safe neighborhood, yet just a couple blocks away is Chestnut St. and all it has to offer - wonderful shops, restaurants, movie theater, deli, etc. We walked easily to the Palace of Fine Arts, Presidio, Marina area, Fisherman's Wharf, etc. Uber was readily available in the neighborhood when we ventured a little further. Can't say enough about the property owners being attentive to their guests' comfort. We have had several VRBO experiences in the past and this was by far the best! You absolutely cannot go wrong with this darling apartment.

Fantastic Getaway!!!!

FIVE STARS!!! ... As a seasoned traveler and rental property owner with high standards, the "Casita Mallorca" exceeded my expectations on every level. CLEAN, PERFECT LOCATION, COMFORTABLE, QUIET, TASTEFULLY DECORATED, FAIR PRICE, GREAT LANDLORD!!! I spent a week in the casita with my wife celebrating my 50th Birthday and my only regret was I did not stay longer - I will definitely be back! I lived in the San Francisco area for 20 years and knew the Marina was the best location in the City. We walked along the water front every day over looking the Golden Gate and Alcatraz Island, to Chestnut Street with hundreds of restaurants and shops, and to the Palace of Fine Arts and Presidio with amazing beauty and views. Anyone staying here will not be disappointed.

Lovely home, lovelier hosts

  • 5 of 5

I had the pleasure of staying in the Mallorca apartment this fall when visiting SF for a conference. The place was precisely as advertised -- lovely, cosy, full of amenities. It's in an excellent part of town -- the Marina -- and provides convenient access to a variety of services and locations. Chestnut Street (just two blocks away) has more restaurants than you can possibly try in your time here; I enjoyed Causwell's at the recommendation of a friend, but the host has many excellent suggestions as well. What's more, the apartment is just blocks away from the ocean, and about 5 minutes away, you can access Golden Gate park (if you're really adventurous, you could venture to the bridge or take a bike to Sausalito).

Most of all, I was satisfied with the hosts. They accommodated a last minute request on my behalf to stay, were lovely to talk with and offered many useful suggestions, and were attentive and responsive during my stay.

I would without fail recommend this property to anyone else, and hope to stay again the next time I'm back.
