The Manton Lodge is a remodeled fire house nestled in the pine trees located in the hills of Manton, just outside Shingletown, in Northern California. The Lodge offers 3 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen and 2 extra long twins), a full kitchen, game table, living area, quiet reading corner, 2+ bathrooms including a soaker tub, and wood stove on slate hearth. The 2.8 acre property has a year-round creek that separates it from the monastery with many walking trails.

It is in the heart of the Sierra Cascade wine region with 7 wineries within a 4 mile radius. The rustic setting offers horseshoes, a fire pit and basketball court for adventurous souls, while providing plenty of respite for reading and campfires along the creek.

The Lodge is also close to flyfishing, the lavender farm, Lassen National Park, Water Wheel Park and St. John's Monastery. The Lodge offers the perfect combination of the great outdoors complimented with the amenities of a fully stocked house.

About the owner: The Lodge is at 21840 Ponderosa Way, Manton,CA 96059. From Redding, take Hwy 44 toward Shingletown and take a right turn on Black Butte road. Follow this past the Darrah Springs fish hatchery (becomes Wildcat road)and ends at Manton road. Turn left and head up to Manton. Road ends in a T intersection in Manton near the store. Take a right onto Forward road. Travel approximately 4 miles up Forward to Ponderosa Way which is a left hand turn one to a cinder road. St. John Monestary sign is there. Go apporximately one mile and Lodge is one the right 200 yards past the entrance to the Monestary. It is a remodeled CDF fire station and is in the light green of the old CA station colors.
