Overview

About the property

Magical view from lanai, Vaulted Ceilings. REMODELED KITCHEN AS OF 5/17!!

MAY 26th to JUNE 5th SPECIAL - $99 STUDIO SIDE - ASK ABOUT YOUR DATES!!

Welcome to Hale Pali Uli (rough translation: “House in Paradise”)! Located in the cozy and quiet Hale Moi complex in Princeville, our condo is perfect to serve as your home base as you explore the exotic sights and awe-insipring beauty of Kauai. It is rentable three different ways (Loft side $129/night, Studio side $109/night or both together for $209/night) and thus can be tailored to serve your exact needs. Be SURE and watch the VIDEO (to the upper left, above the photo window). It's a magical home and rest assured I will take care of you!

The View

The view from our condo is a very nice showcase for the north shore's rugged beauty. Off the lanai to the right, take in an unspoiled view of Bali Hai (see photos and video), the oceanside mountain peak made famous in the movie South Pacific. When the sun sets over or near Bali Hai, the evening sky comes alive with a kaleidoscope of color. It’s a memory to last a lifetime. Then, straight off the lanai over the treetops of a lush, tropical greenbelt sits the Namolokama mountain range. After rain showers, these mountains often have two, three, sometimes more than a dozen cascading waterfalls - it's really something to see. For both of these sights, you won’t even have to leave the comfort of your lanai. (also from the lanai, there is a peek ocean view!)

The Accommodations

One of the best things about Hale Moi is it is really small and low-key - our building is four total units. Our condo is a corner, second-floor unit (up only 6 steps!) with two separate sides, vaulted ceilings, a 35-foot-long lanai, and everything to make your stay cozy and comfortable. The condo has Serta plush top mattresses, fine linens throughout (including comforters), a 32' flat panel TV, CD/iPod player, and all kitchen accessories. The Loft side has a king bed, queen bed in loft, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. The Studio side has a king bed and kitchenette (mini-fridge/microwave/toaster oven/coffee maker/crock pot/dishes and you can of course use the gas and charcoal BBQs to cook). Each side has a living/dining area, its own private lanai and is light and airy and cooled by ceiling fans and the fresh air of the trade winds.

The Location

Hale Pali Uli is perfectly located to serve as your base camp for exploring the North Shore of Kauai (see Google maps, below). Three beaches are within a five or ten minute walk, with the closest being Pu'u Po'a beach. Across the street, down a paved pathway, and as gorgeous and secluded as you’ll ever see - it's like having your own personal beach! A half-dozen other beaches are within a 15 minute drive. For hikers, several trails are close-by, with the have-to-see-it-to-believe-it Kalalau Trail a 20-minute drive away. Whale watchers (Nov-Apr) can choose from several bluff-side, ocean overlooks that are within a couple minutes walk. The Makai golf course (recently renovated) is a half-mile away and the Prince course is just down the Kuhio highway. The one-of-a-kind Queens Bath, a rugged natural ocean pool carved out of a lava rock shelf and set against Bali Hai as a backdrop, is a 20-minute walk away.

The Rates

$99/night for the Studio side, $124/night for the Loft side, and $209/night for both sides together (holiday rates are 10% higher). All rates plus 13.42% tax and $115 out-clean.

The "Instant Quote" button doesn't always give you a correct quote so please send me an inquiry to confirm an exact quote.

ALSO, PLEASE NOTE: WHEN YOU VIEW THE CALENDER, DATES ARE ONLY MARKED AS UNAVAILABLE IF BOTH SIDES ARE BOOKED, SO ALWAYS INQUIRE.

Mahalo and Aloha!

About John Anderson

I am a Texas resident (born and raised). Having first visited Kauai more than twenty years ago, I was captivated by the rugged, unspoiled beauty of the North Shore and the 'live aloha' lifestyle. As I quickly discovered and you may too, Kauai can steal your heart - it still has mine!

John Anderson purchased this condo in 2010

Why John Anderson chose North Shore

The north shore of Kauai is just a one-of-a-kind place. Beautiful, spiritual, and exotic all at the same time, and with the friendliest people on the planet. Why own anywhere else?

What makes this condo unique

A typical day might start with a long, relaxing walk with the mountains/waterfalls on one side and the ocean on the other, then a choice between half-a-dozen pristine beaches, maybe some golf or whale watching, and be capped off with a sunset over Bali Hai. And the best part is, we get to do all again the next day!

Great Kauai Experience!

  • 5 of 5

John's Condo was exactly what we were looking for! Location was fantastic, close to many of the best beaches on the island (hanalei, ke'e, tunnels, hideaways); the views from the lenai were incredible. Bed was comfortable. John was also very prompt with responses and helped with local recommendations. would highly recommend this stay to anyone traveling to kauai.

Comfortable, clean condo-no AC

  • 4 of 5

Has all you need in a studio. I'm sure it was my mistake to overlook that it does not have AC or washer/dryer. No laundry facilities in the area that I could find. Bed is comfy. There is some road noise when front windows are open. Back deck is private and quiet. Excellent communication with owner.

Awesome time!

  • 5 of 5

What a great time we had on the studio side! Comfortable bed, cozy settings, the basics for the kitchenette, a wonderful patio with colorful birds dropping by to say hello, clean bathroom, great internet, quiet location, private patio area with great views, and a walk to a great snorkeling beach (where no-one else was). A sweet little oasis to regroup before days on the beach! Highly recommend!

Thanks for the hospitality and lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Thanks to John for making our trip absolutely wonderful! The studio was a good value - clean, amazing view from the balcony, quiet, and with nice touches like beach chairs and mats to use, advice about things to do, and maps/guidebooks. The kitchenette set-up was perfect for preparing breakfast and lunches - helped with managing the cost of meals. We were a little bit unclear that we couldn't use the designated parking space but got that straightened out with the property manager with no hassle. Perhaps an extra set of towels would be good for extend stays since there's no washer/dryer. Thanks for making our stay so easy and pleasant!

5 night Studio Stay!

  • 4 of 5

Great location to explore from! We appreciated the tips and directions that John supplied via email.

Check In and out was easy and as promised.

We felt much more at home here on the North end compared to the tourist area of Poipu Beach.

Wish we had had more time.

The unit is compact but functional. Kitchenette is sufficiently stocked to create small meals and save money. Food on the island is very expensive. We were glad we had paper towels as there was no dishcloth to wash dishes. There was a new sponge if you are comfortable with that. Next time I would bring dishcloths and a few more dish towels for a 6 day stay.

We appreciated the nature, privacy and view from the lanai.

The internet access was speedy. The cable channels, supplied movies and books were good in case of the need for inside activities.

Next time if I could I would bring my own pillow, the ones supplied were pretty hard.

There is some street noise and noise from across the street but it calms down by bedtime so that noise wasn't an issue for sleeping.

There are ceiling fans and a portable fan to keep things cool. We felt no need for air conditioning and visited from Jan 1st to 6th.

Parking is easy and close!

The beach across the street was incredible. More time would have been spent there if we had the time. Although remember that surf is rough in the winter and its limited on where it's safe to swim.

Enjoyed our stay and feel that description is accurate except the waterfall is not as close as it appears in the picture but it still is a great view. We could hear the surf!

If this unit had more windows(the view from the lanai is the only view) and had had a few maintenance issues addressed, I would have given this an excellent.

When we were looking this was a GREAT value!

Forehead slapper! On an island full of chickens why are eggs still $5 or more per dozen?
