Cozy Secluded Hideaway in the Hills in the Middle of Austin.
This place was awesome. Very close to whatever you want to do in Austin. Long private driveway with tons of land. Never heard our neighbors once and we felt like we were the only people there. The layout of the house is great. The rooms are evenly distributed for privacy. Multiple bathrooms were very nice. If you need a comfortable secluded hideaway close to downtown look into this house. This house will easily sleep 8 people comfortably. Very nice house and will look into booking again.
awesome 70s style house
stayed with six friends for levitation festival and the house was perfect for our needs. only a 10 min drive to downtown.
A secluded gem in the west Austin hills
Shelly's house was a great find! There was plenty of space for out whole group and we loved the old style charm of this 70's ranch home. It is very secluded in the Austin hills and makes for a lovely getaway, while still being a 15 minute drive downtown.
Lovely 70's inspired kid friendly home near all the hot spots.
A lovely 70’s inspired home. Simple beauty and spacious. We enjoyed every glorious spring night. The kids ran around the house for hours and we enjoyed being able to pop into our van and drive to all the Austin Hot Spots. Our Portland friends couldn’t believe how close we were to so many fun places. Yes, we would stay here again.
Great Location – Throw Back Charm
Our startup team stayed here during SXSW and we really loved it. The property was amazing with a lot of space (it's huge), a great view, and an abundance of nature to enjoy. We fit three cars easily with room for probably a half dozen more. The house has its original charm with few frills (white board & new washer/dryer) - very spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood is beautiful and there's a dam on the 10 min drive from downtown which is pretty cool. The hosts left us a nice assortment of food and snacks which was above and beyond our expectations - thank you for that! Overall, I give this property 5 stars for the value and because it was exactly what we were looking for.
Great for families
We are a family of four with a cat, and my husband works from home, and we stayed here comfortably for two months while we were between houses. My 3-year-old loved the huge backyard!
0.9 miles from Zilker Park. The park's amenities and wide open spaces allow it to host a variety of large events each year. Most notably, the Austin City Limits Music Festival fills the park for two weekends each fall with numerous live musical performances by prominent artists. In addition to general-purpose lawns, sports fields, historical markers, concession stands and picnic areas, the park includes numerous public attractions. The Zilker Botanical Garden features several independently maintained gardens located near the center of the park and hosts the Zilker Gardens Festival every spring. The Austin Nature & Science Center offers ecological exhibits, nature hike trails, and children's educational programming. The Umlauf Sculpture Garden adjoins the southeast end of the park, displaying sculptural works by artist Charles Umlauf and others. The Zilker Hillside Theater hosts regular performances by local theatre companies, including free "Shakespeare in the Park" every May and an annual summer musical. Barton Springs Pool adjoins the park on the east, offering public swimming; other water activities are available in Barton Creek. Every winter the 155-foot Zilker Holiday Tree is illuminated, along with a Trail of Lights display. The Zilker Zephyr 12 in (305 mm) gauge miniature railway carries passengers on a tour around the park. Canoe, Kayak, and stand up paddle board rentals are available along the shore of Ladybird Lake where it meets with Zilker Park.
