Our family first found Island Park in 2003 when we camped at Buttermilk Campground. While jet skiing in the reservoir we found Bill's Island and purchased our first cabin, Wandering Inn. In 2006 we left Idaho, and the United States, for a worldwide adventure. We have lived in Mexico City and in the summer of 2009 we moved to Panama and live 2 minutes from the Panama Canal. In 2010 we found Wandering Inn, Too and decided to share the beauty of Island Park and surrounding area with others.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010
We love the unique beauty of Island Park. We enjoy the openness and tranquility of the area. The land is open to exploration. Centennial Shores is a gated community that offers a private community beach and boat dock. The views of Island Park Reservoir and Sawtelle are unrivaled anywhere. The ease of snow machining from the front door as well as walking out in nature where antelope, elk, fox and wildlife frequently roam is something rarely seen in the city. Island Park is a place where you can relax or unwind or go out and enjoy the many natural attractions that this area has to offer, the choice is yours. We still haven't decided which season is our favorite so we've settled on ... 'anytime we are here is our favorite time'.
The Wandering Inn, Too has breathtaking views, my favorite are the amazing Idaho sunsets with the mountain backdrop. The large wrap around porch lets you take in the mountain and lake views at the same time. The house is large enough for a family gathering and not feel that you are on top of each other. There is an acre and a half of land so you will never feel too close to anyone else. After a long day of snow machining or water sports relax in the jetted tub in the master bedroom. The open layout of the cabin lets you cook dinner and still be a part of the family. Relax and enjoy The Wandering Inn, Too and all that Island Park has to offer.
Our group of three families (16 total people) spend three fun nights at this great cabin. It worked very well for large groups - all the adults had a bedroom and the kids were able to share either the basement or the loft area. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for nice accommodations close to Yellowstone.
Amazing property! Clean, fully furnished and HUGE..18 people had a comfortable time. Can't beat the location. Walks to the nearby lake were great.
Had a great time!! Cabin was very nice. I would recommend people to stay at this wonderful place.
We had 6 adults, 2 teenagers and 5 children under the age of 8 for a week at the cabin. It was so well laid out that with all of us under one roof we never felt like we were on top of each other. It is only about 45 minutes to the west entrance of Yellowstone. My brother brought his ATV and we took it everywhere. Spent time on the lake on jet skis and found some fishing holes when we weren't at Yellowstone. Alethea was so quick to respond to any questions we never had to wait for an answer. The view is beautiful off the front and back deck. Coming from the Dallas area we enjoyed the weather. Low 80's during the day and 50's at night. We have already recommended this cabin to some friends who are planning on booking it with their family next summer. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Island Park this is it!
We had to change our plans for my husband's "birthday fishing trip" to Henry's Fork.... Our dog was injured and it was necessary to take her with us. I found this home at the last minute and the owner was gracious enough to accommodate us. They call it a cabin, but it felt just like our home with everything we needed to make us feel comfortable.... including working free internet access and cable TV.... allowing our college student son and wife were able to get their homework done and then relax! The kitchen was fully ready to cook and prepare meals as well. All the windows provided incredible 360 views of Island Park Reservoir and the mountains... not to mention the beautiful sunset and sunrise each day! The fishing was close by and amazing and my husband commented several times, "this was the birthday ever!"
Our party of 18 (12 kids and 6 adults) enjoyed every minute of our time in Idaho. The house is gorgeous and the sunsets are unbeatable. The house is clean, beautiful, and well stocked.
