Our 100 previous guests adored the walkable location of our duplex apartment. Over 50 cafés, boulangeries and restaurants are on the doorstep. Yet it's south-facing, sunny and very quiet. Nice's 5km public beach is 7 minutes walk away. As is the Cours Saleya market and Old Town.
The two-storey apartment in the historic port of Nice is huge. Around 100m2 (1100sqft) in total. It contains three entirely separate bedrooms. Every room including the 45m2 (500sqft) living area is south-facing, quiet and filled with sunshine. It sleeps 6 in three double beds in absolute comfort.
The apartment dates from 1850s. Style dates from the 1930s. The entire space was entered renovated in 2016, but every ounce of antique chic remains.
We provide board games, a baby cot, an iPad pre-loaded with movies and a BOSE Stereo. Many of our guests are families. Others are small business groups or couples looking for an exclusive trip.
The living area is utterly luxurious. Like the rest of the apartment it boasts solid oak parquet floors and south-facing soundproof windows, plus great art, a library of books, plus sofas and a dining table for 6.
This lounge area opens onto a fantastically well-equipped kitchen. It’s complete with marble chopping areas, gas stove, oils, knifes, great pots and pan, herbs and spices. Plus cookbooks from Jamie Oliver, Yotam Ottolenghi and Patricia Wells.

There are three big bedrooms, each bathed in sunlight. The first is effortlessly romantic, with a brand new bed, a €2,000 Habitat mattress, antique lights, fine vies and fine Egyptian cotton linen.
The second bedroom has a 1950s wooden bed, Tempurpedic mattress and fine linen. It also overlooks the Colline du Chateau public park above Nice.
The third bedroom is on the same floor as the massive living room. It has a brand new mattress, our usual fine linen, art on the walls, and is the largest bedroom in the apartment.
Boutique chic describes the brand new shower room (renovated in 2014). Double sinks and swan necked taps have been installed into an ancient French dresser. The oversized shower rose delivers a refreshing zing in winter and summer. The new bathroom upstairs (installed in 2016) overlooks the Colline du Chateau park. It also has double sinks plus a long, long lie-down bath with shower head. Both bathroom and shower room have piped hot water on demand plus heated floors in winter.
We have no TV, but do have an iPad pre-loaded with classic French movies, like A Good Year and Mr Bean Goes to Cannes.
And, as rue Antoine Gautier apartment block is a century and a half old, we don’t have an elevator or air-conditioning. We are on the third (and top) floor - you don’t need an oxygen tank for three flights of stairs!
