This is a beautiful 4 BR, 4 Bath home that boasts comfort in every room. It is decorated in a 'family eclectic' style which translates to relaxation for all. This home sits in the gated community of Palmetto Dunes and is within an 8 minute walk to the beach or very short bike ride. As you sit on the pool deck, you can view the golfers on the 2nd & 8th hole of the famed Fazio course. Early morning and at twilight, you will frequently see deer stroll by at the edge of the golf course or through the back yard. The kitchen is beautifully updated with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. The dinning room flows off the kitchen and seats 6 - 8 people easily. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 baths located on the first floor for easy access. Each room has its own private bath and enough privacy to suit all guests. The Master bathroom has a large jetted tub. Upstairs is a beautiful, bright room with private bath. This colorful and happy room has a charming armoire and is decorated to suit child or adult.
The family room has a large sectional sofa that allows you to satisfy your need for some private time OR allows you to sit and talk with your friends and family. The 52' TV is above the fireplace where all can view it from any spot in this large area and the sound will float through the room via the surround sound system. For the computer person, there is WiFi to keep you in touch with the world outside or just to play the games you enjoy the most. Then, when you think you can't ask for anything more, we present to you the most wonderful room of the house - the screened porch. How perfect to be able to totally relax in the comfort of a screened-in area with two ceiling fans and a large TV.
The pool is a free-form style with spa that invites you to mellow out after your busy day on the beach. This house sits on the world-class Fazio Golf Course. So, as you sit and sip on your favorite drink in your private back yard area, you can watch the golfers as they try their hand at this very challenging game. If you are a golfer, you have within Palmetto Dunes three courses - Fazio, Robert Trent Jones, and Arthur Hills. If you are a tennis buff, we have a world class tennis facility. If you are a beach person, a short walk will put you onto our 3 mile pristine beach. If you ride bikes, call our local outfitters and they will deliver and pick up your bikes. You can then ride on our miles and miles of bike paths that exist not only within Palmetto Dunes but throughout Hilton Head. Outfitters can also set you up to kayak or canoe on our 11 mile lagoon or provide surfboards for use in the ocean.
Within Palmetto Dunes and Shelter Cove Marina there are many delightful restaurants with varied cuisine. Additionally, our Shelter Cove Marina has many great shops to browse around. Palmetto Dunes also has a GENERAL STORE which has almost anything that you can think of including breakfast and lunch, food items, ice, fish hooks, toys, clothes and novelty items, candy in jars, specialty coffees, ice cream, newspapers, etc. etc. When you need that extra loaf of bread, there is no reason to go outside our private community gates.
Come and stay with us in this exceptionally comfortable home located in this mid-island paradise.
You'll be glad you did!

About Sharon Cheney
My husband is from Georgia, but lived in many places growing up because his father was a military officer. I was born and raised in San Francisco. We met when we were both working at Naval Air Station Moffett Field, California. We were married in Annandale Virginia, where we lived for two years. We then moved to Solana Beach, California, for one year. Next we moved to Reidsville, Georgia, where we had a law practice until I fully retired in 2012. My husband still practices law in Reidsville during the week.
Sharon Cheney purchased this House in 1998
Why Sharon Cheney chose Hilton Head Island
We bought our Heath home in Palmetto Dunes as a second home in 1998. We did 3 major remodels over a period of seven years, adding a two car garage, bathroom, pool and deck, enlarging the screened porch, replacing a narrow circular iron stairway with a fully open staircase, extending the back of the house, and reconfiguring and completely remodeling the kitchen. We enjoyed our time here so much, we chose to retire here and bought a primary residence in PD. We decided to rent our Heath home rather than sell it, because we like having the space for gatherings of our friends and family when they visit.
What makes this House unique
We enjoy the Inverness side (South Gate) of PD because it is a bit less busy than the Mariner's side (North Gate). We love being mid island on Hilton Head with easy access to everything of interest on the island not to mention easy access to 6 to 8 excellent restaurants within one to three miles from our front door. We love Hilton Head's warm weather. Sea breezes tend to cool down our southern summers, so temperatures here are always cooler than inland. Winters rarely hit freezing.

This is a fantastic house! Location is beautiful and close to everything.
Beautiful house very quiet area close to everything we needed.
The house and pool was just what we wanted. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cook ware we needed. Plenty of glasses for every kind of drinks you can enjoy. Would stay here again.
Great time ... Nice place
If you are going to HH for some rest and relaxation you should seriously consider this home. Especially if you keep your party at 8 or fewer. The house is well appointed with no specific issues. The walk to the beach is reasonable and actually enjoyed doing that.
Very nice neighborhood.
The screened in room is fantastic. We had an amazing breeze making this room ideal for chilling. Being right next to the pool allowed folks to enjoy the banter of the pool but the shade of the space.
The view if first rate. Always love golf course views and this one is simply fantastic.
Great value and a very engaged owner who seeks to make your time wonderful.
Lovely Stay at a Beautiful Home!
We had wonderful stay at 22 Heath! Sharon was accommodating and helpful throughout the process. We were able to bring our 2 small dogs. The neighborhood was perfect for walking the dogs. The house was very private and had a lovely screened in porch. The kitchen and living areas are very spacious and comfortable. The ONLY very small complaint we had was the guest bathroom showers didn't drain well resulting in water pooling around our feet. The house is a short walk to the beach. We loved having the private pool. It was kept very clean too. Overall, we had a great vacation and would choose to stay at 22 Heath again!
Amazing stay in Hilton Head
The home was absolutely gorgeous with a beautiful backyard and view of the golf course. It was very private with a short walk/ride to the beach. The trails were amazing for biking or hiking. We did not need for anything. The kitchen and bathrooms were completely stocked and then some. This was our first time renting through VRBO, we couldn't be more pleased. Sharon was just wonderful and communication was great from start to finish. We highly recommend this lovely property.
Great time in a great house
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Heath Drive house. Kitchen was well equipped, plenty of room, and great layout. Easy walk to the beach, great view overlooking the Fazio course, and all the amenities of Palmetto Dunes.
Zip line nearby. Take day trips to Bluffton, Beaufort, Charleston, and Savannah. The beach is a short walk away. It takes about 8 minutes to walk east on Heath, take a left on St. George, and go over the pedestrian bridge that crosses over the lagoon to Ocean Lane. This takes you to the oceanfront hotels where there is public access. The pedestrian bridge, not shown on the map above, is located across from and between Flagg and Troon on St. George.
