Perfect for our needs. Father/Son fishing trip.

  • 5 of 5

I took my 81 year old father on a birthday "father/son" fishing trip. This is a smaller facility with a lot of amenities. I had room to park the boat under the house.. however, it does test your backing ability to twist around the decorative trees in the island of the driveway (not shown in this photo). This house is very near to the state park where we launched. Fishing was a bit slim after a stormy day, but we landed some big fish and cooked them up for a nice birthday dinner. Very enjoyable few days. This is perfect for a small fishing group or a small family.

Forgotten Coast Paradise!

  • 4 of 5

If you are looking for Mickey Mouse, you will not find him here! What you will find is a very unique part of Florida! Having been all over Florida, I found this area to be the most down to earth and friendly. Clean white sand beaches with lots of dolphins and pelicans, great weather too.Port St Joe is a short drive away-Provisions restaurant and the lighthouse tour were favorite stops. The house was very beachy and clean, with the beach a 5 minute walk away.We loved cooking outside on the beer keg grills! The home could use more cupboard space for long term renters. A couple of shelves in the dining room area would be an easy fix.A great place to stay! Mark & Gail,Rochester ,NY.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a great time! We think this part of Florida is unique too! We agree the house is a bit small, so cupboard space for long term renters can pose an issue. Thanks for your suggestions. Hurry back!

We had a great time in this rental, everything was fine, very close to the State Park!

  • 4 of 5

The house was clean, all the amenities working as expected. Easy to park a boat right by the house. Close to beach access and bay access if kayaking.

House was Great

  • 4 of 5

The house was great and in a good location near the park. Loved the wrap around porches. It is close to the beaches but not really within walking distance. The bay was walkable but grassy and muddy, not clear water so not a good place to go to. There were a couple of very good restaurants on the island and some good fishing. There is a beautiful remote beach at st Joes state park but there were also flies that stung you... Heard from a local it was in season for them in October. All In all very happy with the house.

Enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

We found the property to be very well equiped. It was clean and had all the amenities necessary for our stay. We had a problem with the upstairs AC but the owner very promptly had a repair service come out and repair the problem. We really enjoyed our stay at Cape Bon Temps and would definitely stay there again.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the kind words and understanding of routine homeowner issues! Sorry about the AC problem, but thankfully we have a good relationship with the locals so it was easy to get the minor repair made within a few hours of you bringing the issue to our attention. Hope to hear from you again!

Great location, fun home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week celebrating our anniversary here and absolutely loved it. We enjoyed coffee and several meals sitting on the big wrap around porches looking at the trees. We saw deer, hawks, and lizards all from the house! The third floor of the house has a fun little bar set up and was a great place to wind down in the evenings. There is a fun frozen drink maker in the kitchen that worked really well, but the knives and pans have seen some wear, what you expect from a beach house exposed to a lot of harsh elements, just pack stuff from home accordingly. The jacuzzi in the upstairs bathroom is great and the ability to open the little cupboard doors and see outside while relaxing was very nice. Gulf beach access is a short walk from the house, and there is a great cleaning set up at the house if you like to fish. The proximity to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park is fantastic. We visited every day and the beaches there are some of the best in the world and it's easy to find a quiet stretch, even during busy times of year. Richard was absolutely wonderful to work with and changed plans for his own vacation so that we could use the house for our anniversary. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay.
