About Megan Mann

Our family came to Cape Cod in the 1980's and stayed in rentals near the Dennis public beaches. We raised 4 children along the way and discovered that the bayside beaches were the perfect babysitter as our kids spent hours exploring the tidal pools. This time helped us relax and recharge during our summer vacations. The Cape is a never-ending exploration as we find several different treasures on every visit. We are blessed and fortunate to be able to share this property with others.

Megan Mann purchased this house in 2004

Why Megan Mann chose Dennis

The beaches, privacy, natural beauty, perfect Cape location all help to make this home provide memories for a life-time. This 'Summer of '42' house provides all of the comforts, yet brings you back to how things used to be. Clean, simple, historic, all describe this rental. Long time residents have suggested that this area and property was a summer retreat for the Native Americans who inhabited the area centuries ago. To be there is to feel it.

What makes this house unique

The June weeks can be summer-like without the crowds. The plants and flowers are in blossom and the aromas are intoxicating. The Autumn months are delightful as the days are warm, the nights cool and the tourists have mostly gone off Cape.

Private Oceanfront Serenity

  • 5 of 5

We had a most wonderful time and I would highly recommend this property to others. It is a magical spot with the sounds of the ocean calming tensions away and sunsets that ignite and restore the spirit.

From the sounds of the birds in the morning to the bright star lit skies in the evening, this private spot provides fun and relaxation for all. The beaches are inviting for long walks, sunbathing, shelling and delightful swims in very clear blue water. We enjoyed renting kayaks and sup boards, bocce on the beach and just spending the long summer days reading and picnicking along the shore.

A walk in town brought us adventures in shopping , going to a real cool old time move theartre and enjoying the best ice cream we have ever tasted! The house is very well equipped and very clean and spacious. I loved the old beach house charm of the lofted beamed kitchen and the views of the ocean from the sunroom and upstairs bedrooms. The home comfortablly accomodated our party of ten and the owners were helpful in helping us organize a birthday party and allowing more guests to come for the day. When we go back I will remember to bring more beach towels and pack an extra beach chair or two. Although there are many local options to make these purchases if need be. We found ocean job lot and Cvs to be helpful for all your beach needs such as sunscreen and beach crocs for the wonderful walks to the public beaches. After mingling with the crowds on these adjacent beaches it was so nice to walk back to our private beach escape and toast to a wonderful day with a glass of wine and the most extraordinary sunsets. We will always remember our stay in Dennis at this wonderful beach house and the fun time we had.

Tranquil, old world charm.

  • 5 of 5

The house has it all, the location can't be beat. Cape Cod bay has the most beautiful sunsets and you can watch from the beach, the yard or the house. The views are incredible. The inside is spacious, with a large dining table and comfortable couches. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plates, mugs, glass etc. The area is so quiet it will transport you back to a simpler, more peaceful time. Perfect for a restful vacation. However there are many things to do a short bike ride or car ride away -

restaurants, shopping, the theater and my favorite an ice cream parlor. We throughly enjoy our stay.

Thank you for sharing your home!

Beachfront Beauty

  • 5 of 5

I could not have found a more perfect location for my summer vacation in Cape Cod. Having your own private beach, just steps away from a quaint, yet spacious beach home provided me with so much joy! The peaceful solitude of this sunlit home was a welcoming haven after a day of swimming, sightseeing, shopping, antiquing or just strolling along the surf. We wanted something in the Mid-Cape area to afford us easy traveling to Hyannis or Provincetown, and this spot fit the bill! Our accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the gardens and yards are well maintained. I would highly recommend this property and can't wait to return. Time spent in this home rejuvenates the soul. It beckons one to come back again and again!

Beautiful beach house with the perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

We had the perfect week and can't wait to go back! The house is very spacious and comfortable, the property was beautiful (loved the flowers), and the beach was amazing! We wanted something with the traditional Cape Cod feel and this house has it. Very clean and well equipped. The sunroom with the ocean views was my favorite spot in the house - I could not get enough of it. Waking up to the sight and sound of the ocean was a dream come true for us.

There are four bedrooms upstairs with two full bathrooms and the downstairs had one bedroom and two full bathrooms. There is also a very nice T.V. room in the front of the house, which was a nice quiet spot to get away if you wanted some quiet time. The outside shower was very nice and we used it every day (great for getting that beach sand off!) We were there with our extended family of 12 and there was plenty of room for all of us.

There are many restaurants in the area (Chapin's was very good) and the ice cream place in town was a short ride away and excellent. It is an easy ride to Provincetown or Hyannis and we really enjoyed historic Sandwich, which is very close by.

The owner (Megan) was very helpful and there is a caretaker available to answer any questions you may have when you arrive.

We feel very lucky to have found this beautiful rental property. If you love traditional Cape Cod and the bay side beaches you will love this house.

Communicate.....Celebrate....Connect.......Come to the Cape of Cod

  • 5 of 5

We were drawn to the sun kissed shingles, whimsical landscaping, panoramic bay views and architectrual charm of the spacious rooms in the photographs, but it wasn't until we pulled up the drive way, that we all felt the Cape Cod tug. From start to finish, our journey was magical and memorable. The owners went above and beyond to accomodate our party of 10 women traveling to a new destination to communicate, celebrate and connect.

We arrived to garden flowers placed in tiny antique jars, beautiful orchestral music and dimly lit lights and a sweet note from the care taker. He arrived the next day and checked in daily to insure we had everything we needed.

We began our mornings with a walk on the private beach. The sunrises are only trumped by the sunsets. This is a place for post card pictures and holiday shots. The water is a deep blue, the skies splashed by snow white clouds and the beach framed with stones that beckon you to cradle and examine them while wondering about their travels. There is a serenity listening to the waters whisper, that hushed the voices of 10 joyful women.

After our walks, we scattered throughout the house in preparation for our day. Some collaborated on our breakfast feasts, prepared in the large kitchen with updated aplliances, and knotty pine walls and floors that boast tradition. We shared our meals at the long dining room table that accomodated all of us comfortably, and allowed for wonderful dialogue, while using beautiful china that are all part of the experience. The spacious living room became a place to read, relax and reconnect.

A 5 minute walk down the road and we arrived at Annies Crannies, a place to watch the pressing of cranberries first hand, or to sit by the bog and take in the beautiful scenery. Day trips to Chattam and Province Town were made in an hour on consecutive days and provided wonderful sight seeing, shopping and restaurants.

Our evenings were spent sitting by a campfire and making smores, with front row seats at a spectacular star display. Each night, a different performance was given, by the pitch black sky and dancing lights. The background boasted crashing waves; which reminded us one more time of Nature's gifts that the Cape of Cod shares generously.

The Quintessential Cape is a home not a house. Her warm and welcoming embrace... will paint a smile on your face...plant a memory in your heart...and leave you longing to pick a date for your next visit!
