Looking for ocean-front and spacious affordability? Look no further! Spectacular views, off the main road for added quiet, yet just minutes away from groceries and other amenities.
THE most affordable 5-bedroom home available in the highly desirable Hampton Colony community.
Search North Topsail Beach House on Facebook for much more information about our home. Over 50 pictures, discussions, etc.
We will also consider trade requests and proposals with other vrbo owners.
The neighbors who have the other side of this duplex are friends of ours and it is also 5 bedrooms. Both sides can be booked together for larger groups.
We've added a brand-new Weber charcoal grill, a land-line (including local and free long-distance), and added speed to our wireless Internet.
Our Buckeye Room now has a queen, Broyhill pull-out couch and a Wii console with lots of games!
We added an electric fireplace to the downstairs sitting room. Very cozy for off-season rentals or nights!
Enjoy our newly remodeled home in the exclusive Hampton Colony community! A lovely, private setting on the beach, Hampton Colony was the location of the Richard Gere and Diane Lane movie, 'Nights of Rodanthe.'
Our beach house features five bedrooms and includes one king bed, three queen beds, and two twin beds. It also has a loft with a new queen pullout couch that could allow for additional guests. It has three full baths, three TVs (including two flat screens) with HD cable, two DVD players, 2 ocean front decks, private boardwalk from deck to the beach, high speed Internet, outdoor enclosed shower for cleaning off the sand, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and unlimited access to the Hampton Colony pool. For families with younger children, we have provided a highchair and a pack-and-play, light-weight stroller, as well as removable gates we keep in a closet for blocking stairs. For those rare rainy days, we have a large box of kids craft supplies and a huge basket of children's books.
You will have spectacular unobstructed views of the blue Atlantic from the oceanfront porch and from the deck off of the loft; in the loft, you can play foosball and enjoy our large flat-screen TV. And, if you're an Ohio State fan, you're in even more luck as this is an OSU decorated space! Go Bucks!
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'll need to prepare meals. You can dine at the dining room table and enjoy the ocean view or eat at the kitchen bar. After your evening meal, you can enjoy dessert or an after dinner drink while you watch the sunset or ocean from either one of the two large decks. In October of 2010, we added a garbage disposal and a built-in microwave/hood.
Topsail Island is a great mix of both old and new, including several wonderful restaurants and shops, but you can also find local fisherman selling their fresh catch at the bridge and many fruit/vegetable stands nearby. There is an IGA in the heart of the island that has most staples you require and there is a Food Lion just before you cross the bridge. In addition, a Harris Teeter and a new miniature golf complex are open now in Surf City.
Visitors from around the world flock to Topsail for its beauty, adventure, and laid-back atmosphere; with this in mind, because it is a barrier island with mostly private homes, it is not crowded. While you're staying here, you can visit Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital, or watch for sea turtle nests; you can also hunt for shark’s teeth as Topsail Island has one of the best beaches for this.
Our home is spacious with shabby chic decorating throughout. Hampton Colony is one of the few locations on Topsail Island that is off the main road; it's a great location for kids and bike riding. It's only .25 mile to the causeway bridge that takes you off the island and towards lovely fishing villages, many beach shops, grocery shopping, and into Wilmington, NC. There is also incredible golfing just 1.5 miles away at North Shore Country Club, as well as many fantastic restaurants within a short drive of our home.
This home is our family getaway, and we take great pride in maintaining it to our high standards. We continue to make trips to the beach to add new things we remember needing from our several years of beach house vacationing. Call if you have questions!
We added an Internet-enabled locking system allowing us to send you your own personal access code. No more keys!
Hampton Colony has a private pool, you will never have to worry about keys, and we are owners who care about your vacation, and its affordability! What more could you ask for?
We also have an email newsletter with information about our beach home and additional photographs, but also lots of great tips about Topsail. With each newsletter you receive in your email, your vacation gets closer and you want to be informed about new places to eat and fun activities, and improvements we are making to our beach home.
Check us out on Facebook, Geronimo (charity website where we donate the rental income from certain weeks), HomeAway, and Joe Options (alternative to vrbo with many more pictures).
Feel free to check out our many positive reviews. They reflect a more personalized approach than you can receive from a rental agency. We believe we might be the only owners in Hampton Colony who do not use a large rental agency!

Our family of five had visited several coastal Carolina beaches over the years. When we stayed on Topsail Island, we knew we had found our favorite. We use this home as often as we can, making the drive from Columbus, Ohio. Our kids have enjoyed surfing lessons and exploring the beach for shells during the day, ghost crabs at night. Even during peak season, our part of the beach always feels very private. We work in education and try to get to the house as often as we can for long weekends and vacations.
John Woods purchased this house in 2010
Topsail has a beautiful beach and it is not crowded, nor is it over-developed with too much retail activity. There are a few fun shops and several good places to eat, without there being a busy stretch of stores creating large crowds. We like how quiet and friendly the Island is.
Check out Ecological Marine Adventures (ematopsail.webs) for great kids activities. Our kids loved learning about marine life and Kathleen also gives surfing lessons!
This has been our second trip to Topsail and we've stayed in this house both times. Best value compared to other houses nearby. The decor in this house is super cute, shabby chic style. House is very clean and there is much attention to detail. Great vacation spot, lots to do close to this house - very convenient to restaurants, shops but still off the beaten path. Highly recommend!
This is a super cute house!! They layout is great and can accomdate large groups:multiple families with plenty of privacy. I love that the loft provided "kid space" leaving the living room/kitchen for adults. The kitchen was STOCKED- seriously, bring your essentials like coffee, but don't sweat packing crushed red pepper or random things like that. On the beach so we weren't lugging stuff back and forth. LOVED that!! Finally, the location is SO convenient! One thing I hate about Some vacation spots is that you cross the bridge, see the ocean, and still have an hour drive. Not this house!! You can see it from the bridge- you don't even have a minute drive from there!! I will 100% re-book this property!
We enjoyed our stay at this oceanfront home at N. Topsail. The owners were quick in responding and a joy to work with. The house was well equipped with enough space for a family of 9 to spread out. We had 2 young kids, 3 teenagers and 4 adults staying in the home and we never felt cramped. It was so nice to have a private boardwalk straight out to the sand and water for sunrise/sunset walks. We did not use the pool because it was still closed in the time we went (April/Easter) but I could see how great this house and community would be during the summer with that added amenity. The area of N. Topsail was not crowded at all but still featured fun shops/restaurants a short distance away. Our favorite shop was Herrings Outdoor Sports which we rented kayaks from one afternoon. The pier is not very far and we had luck catching a few sharks while there. All in All we would visit this beach house again as it provided a relaxing, low key beach vacation for our family to make memories at. Thanks again!
We have been enjoying a family beach vacation for over 20 years as we were raised by the ocean but most of the family has spread thruout the US. We discovered this duplex on both sides which gave us 10 bedrooms and plenty of living space as well as being able to share porches without obstructions on both sides. The owners have made many improvements over the years and anytime we had a problem with the structure it was addressed immediately. Always clean and a pleasure to enjoy our once a year beach experience. I highly recommend this property and I thank the owners for our wonderful vacations at their beach home.
My family and I have been staying at this rental for the last several years. For our family and our friends, the unit is just perfect. It's got easy beach access and great views of the ocean. The section of beach the home is on is very private, making it a great place for the kids to swim and play in the surf while the parents read and relax with the adult beverage of their choice.
The location and set-up of the living room/kitchen makes this a great place to connect with friends and family. The openness of the kitchen and living area make preparing meals a very social activity.
This last year we discovered the public tennis courts and basketball courts which are a short distance away (maybe 10-15 minute walk or 2-3 minute drive). Very nice and allowed us to break up the day with some serious exercise.
Another thing we like about this home is the pool that is in the development. After the kids tire of the waves, it is nice to have a pool to go to play Marco Polo.
What a lovely secret this home is. Ocean front, with direct access to- and a picturesque view of- a private, family-friendly beach with some of the best shell, shark tooth, and sea glass gathering around. Easy access to the highway, the grocery store, general shopping, many restaurants and other North Topsail conveniences, but yet the beach remains fairly secluded and unspoiled. We just loved it for the fact that the conveniences were easy to come by, but our vacation never felt crowded or commercialized in any way. A neighborhood pool offers a great outside option when little ones are tired of battling the waves. The home itself has ample accommodations, darling decorative accents, and a welcoming, sunny feel throughout. We shall definitely return to this fabulous gem of a place!
Exactly 1.2 miles from Northshore Country Club - public golf, great course!
