Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed at the Dragonfly Cottage for several days the week before

Memorial Day. Stephanie was a very pleasant host, with just the right blend of information and privacy. This is a great location for exploring Cape May and the surrounding area. The room is cozy, with a queen bed, large bathroom, Keurig coffee dispenser and gas fireplace if needed for damp or cool weather. We didn’t use the back deck or bikes, but both are available. We definitely plan to stay again on another trip to the area.

Quiet and Peaceful & Wonderful Host

  • 5 of 5

Just like another reviewer, I was hesitant to write a review about Dragonfly Cottage as it is a perfect, little, hidden gem in Cape May and we want it all to ourselves.

First off, Stephanie is a superb host. We had excellent communication even before we set foot into Dragonfly Cottage.

The cottage is just the right size for one or two. It is set up beautifully with a queen bed, a small table with two chairs, a comfy chair for sitting and reading, The room has a gas fireplace for heat during any cold nights during those months when you would need it. We did use it once on a second trip and it warmed the room up nicely. There is A/C with a remote which worked very well. A ceiling fan overhead with a light for air circulation.

On a corner stand is a TV (32"?) with Xfinity cable. Nice perk to have when you want to watch a show or two from the bed. To the side of the bed in another corner is a small fridge, a microwave, cups and dishes, a toaster, a large Keurig coffee maker and plenty of Keurig coffee and tea along with regular chamomile tea.

The bathroom was done quite elegantly with a round sink that sits on top. There is plenty of room to move around. Fresh, clean towels and wash cloths were provided.

The windows have shades that move up and down easily. This is a nice perk as we have been in other places that might have curtains but no shades, etc. They block the morning light which helps when you are trying to sleep.

We did not spend much time outside in the back, however, if you did there is a gas grill and places to sit. It is a large back yard and we did mosey around the yard a bit.

It is a very short drive to the main happenings of Cape May. Depending on what season you plan to come, the parking can be good or difficult to find spots. Stephanie does offer use of bikes, however, we did not take advantage of that.

The entire enchanted cottage is clean and well maintained. If there are any concerns or questions, you can always all or text Stephanie. During another stay, I had a question and she called right away with the answer.

I should say don't come to Dragonfly Cottage because it is so bad, however, that would be such a lie my nose would grow longer than a telephone wire (as the old poem and song go). If you are coming, please keep it a secret, little gem just between us, yourself and Stephanie.

Thank you, Stephanie, for the beautiful cottage and the for being a most friendly host.

What a cozy little cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED staying at Dragonfly Cottage for a long weekend! It is such a cute little cottage situated on a great piece of property that makes it so peaceful and relaxing! It is 5-10 minutes from the beaches and down town. Stephanie provides everything you would find in a hotel or cabin! There is even a a gas fire place for chilly nights! Stephanie is so sweet to provide her guests with beach tags, bicycles, sand chairs and discount cards for many of the local restaurants and attractions. She thought of everything!!! She even recommended a great place to get a spa type massage right up the street!

We were really impressed and thrilled to have found such a gem!

Excellent Memorial Day Weekend stay

  • 5 of 5

Our experience at the Dragonfly Cottage couldn't have been better! Stephanie's property is beautiful, and we were able to enjoy the nice view from the deck attached to the unit, overlooking her lovely backyard and pond (and she provided us with lots of bug spray, too, so mosquitoes weren't an issue!). The unit itself is spacious, and both modern and charming. It comes with everything you need to make a convenient breakfast (coffee, silverware, plates, toaster, fridge, etc.), as well as lunch or dinner (outdoor grill, wine opener and glasses, etc.). She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and gave us tips and brochures with discounts on activities and restaurants. We used the bikes that she provided everyday during our stay and found it very easy to get to all of the major Cape May destinations from the unit -- about a 5 minute bike ride to town/the beach (for which she also provided beach tags!), and no more than a 10 minute bike ride to the lighthouse.

Overall, the unit was everything we could've hoped for and more and Stephanie really went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and enjoyable -- we'd recommend a stay here to anyone, and we hope to come back soon!

Marvelous!

  • 5 of 5

I had a very wonderful experience at the Dragonfly Cottage and highly recommend staying there. It is the best of both worlds – unique, quiet, and peaceful in natural surroundings, minutes from the enjoyment of the beach and the action and sights of Cape May and a pleasant escape from the noise and crowds. The owner, Stephanie, is very gracious, kind, helpful, and accommodating. The lodging is lovely, comfortable and cozy. I enjoyed having the amenities of home as well as the grill to cook burgers on and a table and chairs outside to enjoy the outdoors as desired. I stayed during the full bloom of spring at the end of April, and enjoyed tender breezes through the windows during the day and the warmth of the gas fireplace at night. Most evenings, 5 minutes away, I would go to Sunset Beach or to the Cape May Lighthouse for the exquisite sunset and sometimes a walk on the beach at the water’s edge. Happy and relaxing, this marvelous spot is my favorite place to stay in Cape May and most certainly, an exceptional value.

Peaceful and Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful peaceful stay at the Dragonfly Cottage!! The room was very clean and had a great coffee station with a Keurig coffee maker with a nice selection of coffees, Small but nice size refrigerator ready for you to fill with your grocery needs. Flat screen TV, roomy updated bathroom with a pretty antique style pocket door. AC for warm days and a pretty gas stove for those chilly days ahead.

Large private driveway with plenty of parking, nice comfortable beach chairs, beach tags, umbrella, beach boards and bikes to ride into town. The cottage is about a mile away from the heart of Cape May. Nice to leave the hectic crowds and return to this peaceful cottage with sounds of beautiful birds, ducks from the next property and yes even chickens! Loved sitting on the deck listening to nature.

Stephanie the owner goes out of her way to make sure your stay is perfect! Thank you Stephanie for sharing your pretty cottage! Will definitely recommend everyone to the Dragonfly Cottage!

Amazing Surprise Birthday!

  • 5 of 5

I booked the dragon fly cottage for my boyfriends 30th birthday and was very nervous it wasn't going to be what it was in the pictures but when we arrived my boyfriend was so surprised and I fell in love with the cottage. It was so homey and comfortable. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in. Only tips I would give is to bring bug spray/citronella candles for the porch, we would of loved to spend more time out there. We will be coming back in July2015 just booked our nice long weekend :)

Thanks for a great time and place to stay Stephanie!
