Why Jennifer chose Duck

We have been coming to the Outer Banks our entire lives. After my husband came back from Iraq, we decide to invest in land in the Duck area with hopes of one day retiring there. We hope that everyone can enjoy what we truly believe is our home away from home!

Well appointed pet friendly home near the beach

  • 5 of 5

We have been renting at the Midas Touch for almost 10 years and couldn't be happier with the value and convenience. We were originally drawn to the property by the Owner's pet-friendly policy. Now we get to bring our dog on vacation and she loves to swim in the ocean. This house is well appointed and a very short walk to the beach. It has been our home away from home in Duck and we have always found Jen and Ed to be very reasonable and professional Owners. Can't wait until next year!

Very nice rental with tenants in mind

  • 5 of 5

My family (including our black lab) have been travelling the Outer Banks for years. Although we haven't purchased a home in that area yet, we are thinking about it. If we do build, we hope to have a home like this one. The house is well-appointed, with higher end fixtures, a hot tub, hardwood floors and clean carpets. For the discriminating traveler, this is the place for you. Many thanks to Jen and Ed for sharing their home with us. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, proximity to Duck, the beach and many other fun things to do.

Amazing OBX Rental

  • 5 of 5

My family and our friends with their little ones stayed at the Midas Touch in August. This is the first time where the picture did not do the house justice. The house and the living space is larger than it is shown in the picture. The separate living spaces along with the nooks and crannies allow people to gather in one area or hide out and enjoy a little alone time.

The second level is divided where 2 queen rooms are on one side of the floor and the kids room and a king room on the other. This allows a little privacy for each family to have its 'own' side. And of course the ensuite for each of the room (4 out of 5) made sharing a bathroom with kids a thing of the past.

The beach was less than a 5 minute walk and there is plenty of room on the beach to run around, fly kites and just hang out. And after the beach the outdoor shower is a must to clean off all the sand. When we got tired of the beach, we went to the pool club at Sanderling and enjoyed a fun filled afternoon in the salt water pool.

At night when the temperature gets cooler, never fear there is a hot tub. It is just a great way to relax and end the day. All in all this is an amazing rental. However, it is so nice it feels as it's a home away from home rather than a rental!

We are already planning our stay for next year!

Awesome House and Great Location

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at the Midas Touch in July. We had an absolute wonderful time. This house is furnished extremely well. We have been going to the Outer Banks for 20 years. I can tell you these owners are AWESOME! They are very friendly and easy to work with. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need. There are even two coffee pots so no waiting for that second pot to brew.

The beach is very close. It is a very short walk through greenery. It's like a secret walkway to the beach. This area is not over populated with houses so the beach is not crowded. In fact, you will find it with very few people several times of the day. We thought it was great. My family loved flying kites!

There are two family rooms. So, our children could watch one program while we watched another. It is very convenient.

We stayed through Hurricane Arthur. We weren't evacuated so many people stayed. In this house you feel very safe. It was nothing more than a strong rain in the middle of the night. This house is wonderful!

I will definitely stay here again.

Perfect Winter Retreat

  • 5 of 5

So we have come to the Midas Touch before but never in the winter! What a treat to experience this lovely house in another way. We took advantage of the long holiday weekend and it has been great. The house is so warm and cozy, the fireplace easy to operate and inviting, and we just love the peace and quiet of the off season experience. The weather has been bright and beautiful and despite it being winter we have been down to the beach with feet in the water! As usual, the home is immaculate, every detail has been tended to and this is just an easy, happy getaway even just for the long weekend! I also have to say we love the style, comfort and location of the home and the super soft sheets and the fact that we can bring our favorite family member, our 6 year old boxer dog! Today we are looking forward to searching for the wild horses, checking out the Children's museum, going out to lunch (yes some restaurants are open year round!), and taking a Valentines photo with a message in the sand. We are also considering getting a day pass to use the lovely Sanderling heated pool & spa. Definitely consider coming in the wintertime (and don't forget to stop at the big Harris Teeter on your way in as some of the more local stores are only open on weekends)!
